A fantastic tour visiting some amazing and beautiful places. Lindau, Neuschwanstein and Rothenburg ob der Tauber, places I had long wanted to see, did not disappoint.

Overall, an excellent tour, in a large group of pleasant and interesting people, very well led by our tour manager Chris. A very good week's programme comprising four coach trips to outstanding destinations and two free days (the first and last - perfect!). The hotel is well located in a pleasant small town, with the city of Ulm (certainly worth visiting) within easy reach on a free day. The clean, comfortable and quiet hotel, although functioning in a somewhat unusual way(!), is a good base.

The usual excellent service we have always had in the past. Some great places visited and one exceptional local guide. Tour manager was first class, working hard behind the scenes to make sure everything went to plan. The hotel and staff were what we have grown to expect from GRJ.

This was our first holiday with GRJ and the location was very good, Langenau is a lovely town however the Hotel Jagerhaus was not the best place to stay however our Tour Manager, Chris, was very friendly and really took care of the group as a whole. On our first night we found a cockroach in our room and informed Chris who reported it to the staff but we never got so much as an apology from the management. It would be generous to say the food was adequate and if you were late down for breakfast you just had to make do with what was left over from everyone else as nothing apart from the bread was replenished from what I could see. The days were long with hours of coach travel to the different locations although each place was very interesting and we did have two free days to do our own thing. It was purely the wonderful scenery and the friendliness of the group which made the holiday enjoyable. On the whole I think it was expensive and wouldn't do another trip with them and a bit of a con as all the travel from the hotel was done by coach!

A very good trip which has a good balance of excursions to really interesting and impressive sights and free time to explore on your own. The Hotel was clean and comfortable with very helpful friendly staff. The meals included were very good with a choice available each evening.Good sized portions and all very tasty and enjoyable and free bar in the evenings. The hotel location gave options to travel on free days to several places and the local town was a pleasant stroll. The trip gave a great insight into the area and was well organised and planned.A very enjoyable and interesting trip and highly recommended

Thoroughly enjoyable trip. The tour manager - Liz Smith - was fabulous, very professional and went well beyond what was expected. We were a group of 40 and she didn't lose any of us! All the excursions were very good, except for the one to Munich. We were dropped off in the main square and left to our own devices. I had anticipated a guided tour of some kind and was disappointed that one wasn't provided. As we were only in Munich for 3.5 hours we didn't really have time to venture further afield. That said I would certainly recommend the tour.

Return train from Ulm was better, going through Paris rather than Brussels and Cologne. Ulm is an interesting town. Loved Landau and Neuschwanstein. Munich just gave us a very brief taste of what it could offer. Personally, I would prefer another destination as it was a long drive both ways. Rothenburg was good, but less sure of the “medieval” guide. Altogether a worthwhile, good value trip in comfortable accommodation.

Looking back, we thoroughly enjoyed this GRJ holiday but the first day, travelling from London Eurostar terminal through Brussels Midi, Frankfurt Airport and Ulm to destination just seemed never-ending! Fortunately the next day was a free day and it was much appreciated! We loved the planned excursions to Lake Constance, Nueschvanstein Castle, Munich and, best of all, Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang kiddie catcher territory! Our group of 39 all clicked and our tour guide, Julie, was outstanding as a mine of information and an award winning sheepdog when travelling!!

Wonderful holiday. Great places visited. All helped by our tour manager, Julie, who was extremely helpful. Good little family run hotel.

Beautiful Bavaria, very comfortable trains and coaches. Julie was fantastic tour guide. Lovely group of people and lots of laughs. All I would say it’s quite tiring and could do with a bit more down time.

Fantastic holiday. Lovely excursions. Tour operator (Julie) was very kind amd super knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend GRJ. The hotel was not perfect but did get everything promised. I also liked how easy the booking process was and that I wasn't hassled to book it like I have been with other companies

The train journeys were to bavaria only . the hotel was 2nd rate with the evening meal being something of a boot camp . The beer and wine were of the zero alchohol . we had to queue at eurostar paris with hundreds of kids then we had to battle them to get to the train . This trip has put me off train travel completely .
