it was all very good . some expert guides and the boat was very comfortable with excellent food ( although rather too much ! A relief to have air conditioning on the boat . The trip to Chamonix was rather too long with several changes of trains . An excellent hotel in Lausanne .
Great hotel accomodation in Lausanne. Cruise was very good and local guides on excusions were brilliant. Issues did arise on occasions as tour leader was unable to speak local language

It was the best holiday we have had with GRJ. A good mixture of Swiss activities and a lovely river cruise, with excellent company and interesting visits along the way. Well done, GRJ!

This was our first river cruise and it was perfect in all respects. The boat wasn't too big (approx 110 customers, but it never felt busy) and there were sufficient crew and restaurant staff to make us feel that we all mattered, whether when asking for advice at reception or being served at meal times or at the bar. The menu choices were excellent and it was nice to meet the head chef, who visited tables at dinner to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. The pace of the holiday was also just right - interesting excursions with knowledgeable guides, and plenty of time to either explore further or relax on the boat. All in all a lovely holiday and we are already looking to see where we would like to go next year - we are spoilt for choice!
We enjoyed this trip very much and Kristin Foord, our initial tour Manager in Switzerland was very good indeed with our accommodation and the time spent there very enjoyable. But be warned, there are a lot of trains to negotiate on this part of the tour. The boat cruise with MS Amadeus Provence was enjoyable too with a superb crew who were always helpful. Lovely accommodation, well serviced and provisioned. The food could perhaps have been a little more substantial in terms of the ingredients used and sometimes the portions were a little small. The excursions used local guides who were "full on", and several times caused the trips to be foreshortened leaving little time to explore or have a break. That said, the places we visited provided a good impression of our ports of call. Overall, well organised and enjoyable.
Enjoyed the trip very much. The Mont Blanc express was great , Kirsten, our guide was exceptional & very knowledgeable. The river cruise was very nice & entertaining as was Jackie organising us all.
Good trip. Excellent hotel in Lausanne and Rhone Cruise was very good.

Interesting rail trips, to Chamonix and on the steam railway in the Ardeche. Pleasant excursions from the cruise ship and good meals on board. The first day's cruising and excursion had to be changed due to ship engine failure but was replaced by another excursion at very short notice, do not too disappointed.

Disappointing. Train content was tedious, with long waits between connections, timetable changes, confusion, unsanitary conditions. Ship was dead on arrival. Part of the cruise was cancelled. I spent most days in artificual light, tethered to another boat, food was poor and not reflective of the menu. I wouldn't do another rail tour with this company, let alone one with a sailing component. Sub-standard. Not recommended.

A well organised and thoroughly enjoyable holiday from beginning to end. We were well looked after by the Tour Managers; excursions were informative and interesting; food and service, excellent.
we enjoyed the Switzerland part of the holiday very much . Food on the river cruise was not always very hot .

Not enough time to see the places we stopped at. Too early start to trips, we were on holiday.
First accommodation in hotel and on board ship,staff on the ship where exceptionally helpful and attended to all we ask of them. Mr. M Ellis.
The hotel was changed because GRJ had not realised that The Montreaux Jazz Festival was happening even though it is an annual event. There could have been a revised schedule to account for the change of hotel. The resturant service on the ship was the worst I have known on any river cruise line. The kitchens could not keep the serving staff supplied in time for the diners so dinner was usually over two and a half hours.

Very god holiday but disappointing that the sun deck was closed for much of the cruise due to low bridges
