This was a return to the Railways of Wales and the quality was as usual, excellent. There were . changes which made the trip fresh and different. The hotel was good value and the tour guide guide always pleasant and helpful. The driver of the coach provided interesting information. Thank you to everyone..

not enough time in places I wanted to see, too much time hanging around in between journeys. Hotel was nice and well located, food plentiful but pre-packaged in the evening.

It was good. The only downside was that we spent quite a bit of time in the coach, but that was inevitable. The stop at Betws y Coed was a bit of a waste of time
Great holiday, hotel good but a bit short staffed at times.
The tours, the rep’s were excellent, and we saw a lot of great places and experienced the railways which is what I wanted to do. Each day was excellent. The only let down was the hotel, which was like Faulty Towers only without Basil himself. It was dated, the bedroom was small and basic, with only double beds available. Duvet was thick and heavy so we were too warm, and there is no air conditioning in any room. Not many hotels now have just double beds, opting for king size or above. Food was ok, but again, dated..Not since the 70’s have I had Peach Melba and Banana Split as desserts. Would return for the same itinerary with Great Railway Journeys, but not without an upgrade from the poor choice of hotel as an accompaniment.
The whole experience was pleasantly different; we had knowledgeable volunteer guides on the steam engine train rides; our tour managers (Chris and Mags) truly went out of their way to assist us along the trip; the places we visited were amazing. My suggestions: (1) it would have been more helpful if anyone in the team could speak Welsh; (2) the horse drawn barge would have been more interesting had there been someone who could speak about the history of horse drawn barges, in general, and life on the river (as there were some canal boats during our ride); you may need to revisit your arrangements the hotel.

An enjoyable holiday based on Llandudno. An interesting itinerary and lots of ideas for the day off provided by the tour leader.

We enjoyed the tour, especially Portmeirion & the guided tour of Caernarfon Castle. We had too much time allocated to stops at Betws-y-coed & Beddgelert and not enough at Porthmadog.

Should call Llangollen a heritage rail journey, looking at the timetable it was never going to be steam. Misleading and a bad taste start to the trip. As a rail tour I personally would have liked some time at the Porthmadog hub of the Ffestiniog railway. Herded out to get to Portmeirion when for me we could have spent 30 mins less time there. Otherwise hotel better than expected, and the weather is what it is.

Snowdon Mountain Railway was very well run, all the staff were very friendly and helpful and good value for money.
Really enjoyed the holiday - brilliantly led.
The trips were good with a great leader but the catering in the hotel was poor. Also I did not realise at the time of booking that the holiday started on a Sunday and as we were travelling by train to get there we were required to take 4 trains plus taxi. The return on Friday only took 2trains.
A well organised holiday in all respects; a calm and very capable Tour Manager, very good hotel, interesting and programme of events and visits which combined to give us the chance to appreciate northern Wales - only the weather could have been better! Our eighth holiday with Great Rail Journeys and (hopefully) more to come in the future.
Team leader was excellent, itinerary was good, trains were as expected. Hotel was disappointing, very regimented, no facility for snack or drinks on free day if needed. Self service of wine bottles and glasses for evening meal!! Mattress very hard and pillows were lumpy. Obviously a group hotel but not our choice.
A wonderful holiday, the weather was perfect. The excursions allowed us to visit North Wales stress free.
