The holiday was quite full - on. A free day or two half days would have have been ideal . Lots of travelling ( coach train & sea - ferry )enabled us to see so much beautiful scenery( lochs& mountains) Hotels good. Most of our group were like ourselves, in their Seventies &Eighties, few younger about in their sixties. All in all aI think my 4 star review is correct!

This was a wonderful trip, with beautiful scenery, a varied itinerary, and our guide, Allan, was marvellous, making sure that we got the best we possibly could from our holiday. I have rated 4, not 5, stars for a couple of reasons, but mainly because of the hotel at Brora. We stayed at the Royal Marine Hotel in Brora. I don't know if we were unlucky or if our experience was a true reflection. However, if I was travelling independently I would have checked out after the first night. Our meal was booked for 7:30; on sitting down we were told we would be served at 8pm as they were busy. In fact they started to bring out the starters after 9pm and the mains at 9:45pm. We gave up waiting for dessert. In addition the water for the shower was cold, which a few others in our group also found. And the final straw was the rude response that I got when I asked for some milk to make a cup of tea in the morning (nice tea/coffee facilities are in the rooms, but oddly, no milk). On our second night the service was better (could it have been worse?) but the meals were still brought out very late after our booking and very slowly, and once again some of the group gave up waiting for their dessert after 10pm. Very poor. In contrast, The Haven at Plockton was lovely. Friendly staff, great food and a wonderful location. The train travel was made super easy by Allan's organisational skills. He arranged for us to board the trains as soon as the platform gates were opened which helped so much with finding our seats. He also arranged for our suitcases to be transported independently of us so that they magically appeared in our hotel rooms before our arrival. It was all so very easy and stress free. On the whole I would absolutely recommend this trip.

Skye and the distillery tour was very good, Kate our Raasay guide was very informative. Shame it rained all day 😩 The following day Skye again, but in the sunshine 😁 Dungevin Castle was a lovely visit, in the castle itself and the beautiful gardens. Also the visit to Dunrobin Castle, beautiful gardens once again looking out to the sea. Train and coach journeys were good, even though a few problems with Scot Rail. Our guide Rob was fab though sorting the problems out and coming up with the best solutions. The food was mostly good in the 3 hotels, however having to preorder your meals months in advance was a bit of a pain. And dinner at 7:30 was late for us, still eating pudding at 9pm😩 the hotels were lovely, and most of the staff were lovely too!! And our group, 18 plus Rob were fab, we got on so well, and this, plus the stunning scenery made our holiday so great 🥰

A really interesting trip around the North of Scotland. The small group size made the visits to the archaelogical sites on Orkney and the various castles and gardens really interesting and unrushed.

We had a delightful holiday with an excellent guide and a group of 11 people. The weather was beautiful except for one thunderstorm. We visited lots of interesting places and saw wonderful scenery

An excellent tour which covers a good deal of the beautiful wild Highlands. Quite a full-on week, so some stamina required. Michael was a fabulous Tour Manager, knowledgeable and very amusing. A great time had by all.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The holiday was well planned and executed by our great tour manager Michael. The places visited were very good and we were fortunate with the weather. The group gelled well helped by the low number which was ideal. There were a couple of instances of erroneous information on the running order relating to meal times which caused some confusion. Overall I would say it exceeded my sister and my expectations.

A fascinating week, well planned, led, and very busy

It was enjoyable but very full on. The towns where we had a bit of leisure were not very exciting. The castles were lovely and our day on Orkney was wonderful, helped by beautiful weather.

Excellent holiday, always wanted to travel the highland line. Pity scotrail crammed us into those awful seats for four with a table with no leg room. The same on the Kyle line. My wife and I managed to move seats on both journeys. Both amazing lines you must keep using them, not a coach ! Superb party, also our Rep.
