A lovely holiday , the food on board was excellent. Would have liked a bit more free time at some of the destinations.

A very well organised journey and overnight stay on the way to Passau. Courier Ian Abbis was excellent. The Amadeus Cara was a very nice Boat and our accommodation was great. The staff on board were good. The host and hostess Rob and Lorraine were first class at imparting information and organising the entertainment. The trips were informative and entertaining. The food could nt have been better. The journey home and overnight stay were again lead by Ian Abbis who went above and beyond what it was reasonable for us to expect and completed for us a most enjoyable holiday.
Despite the water levels I felt all staff worked above and beyond to ensure the trip was aas good an experience as possible. Also the the tour manager leading to and from the ship did a good job.
Because of low water levels in the Danube our cruise was quite different to the cruise we booked. However the Cruise Director and captain did their very best to deliver us the best they could.
From getting on the train at St Pancras through the whole holiday, it was incredible. The organisation was first class. The staff were attentive and could not do enough for you. The local guides were very knowledge. Each destination we visited was interesting. In our free time we could go back to part of the city or town we liked to investigate a church or shop that appeared special. We will defintely be traveling with Great Railway Journeys again.
Enjoyable even though water levels were causing problems for the cruise. GRJ did an excellent job in reorganising the visits to the cities along the Danube.
Wonderful holiday with 5 star treatment on the Amadeus Cara.
The cruise was fabulous - couldn't fault the ship, crew/ staff, food. For us, the travelling to get to Passau (and home) was very tiring - we were wishing we had known about the flying option (to and from Munich). But - a super ship, lovely size, right amount of passengers too.
I couldn’t fault anything. The cabin was lovely, spacious and very clean as was the whole cruiser. The staff were delightful. The Danube breathtakingly lovely. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The waiters made it a very special experience. The stops on the way were fabulous. The last night at the Bonn hotel was a let down the evening menu was a disappointment. With friends we had made on the cruise we went to a German restaurant so our last night was great. Overall l give it 100%
Our first experience. Overall the trip was very good. There were one or two 'issues' with the railway journeys, delays and changes.
Excellent travel arrangements let down by German Railways many delays and platform changes. Unfortunately lack of water in the Danube prevented us sailing to Budapest but coach transport was provided and the tour guides were excellent. Hotel accomodation provided was very good.
Brilliant food on the Amadeus … very nice staff and always polite and pleasant
I would have scored 5 stars but the trip was disrupted due to low river levels. Can't fault GRJ they were very accommodating and super helpful. Will definitely do another trip with them
Great holiday with GRJ guide making sure we got there and back (in spite of German railways!) and Amadeus staff pulling out all the stops for us.
Excellent ship, crew, food, accommodation and service
Lovely group. Super ship. All great even though we had to change itinerary due to the low water.
Lots of racing from platform to platform to catch trains both out and homeward bound, very stressful. Boat was nice, staff were brilliant, couldn't get to Budapest due to low water, just one of those things that can happen, problem was the cabins had nice panoramic windows to look out. \couldn't see out or get daylight even due to double and triple parking of boats. depressing in the dark cabin. not sure that I would contemplate another cruise .

Sadly we only went as far as Vienna due to poor water levels in the river Danube. Seriously bad communications from the company and poor replacement travel arrangement to Budapest and Bratislava. Boat was great as was the food and staff.
Amadeus Cara was excellent and the crew were amazing. Cruise itself not as expected due to river levels which while not the operator fault they could have organised alternative itinery a bit better. It became a coach holiday with a floating hotel.
Appalling travel to the boat, changed itinerary, dreadful journey home.
