There were various activities, e.g. train journeys, visits to castles, motor museum. It was a great holiday. The hotel was lovely and the food was delicious.

Interesting and busy short break with variable weather, good choice of places to visit..Enjoyed travel on heritage railways, was a shame that the heritage one from Swanage to Corfe Castle was only 20 minutes long.The sea journey to Old Harry Rocks and Swanage had to be altered because of strong winds which meant we could not moor at Swanage so instead we went back to Poole and the coach with our group then took us to Swanage. A good enjoyable break helped by a knowledgeable Tour Manager.
This was our third holiday with Great Rail Journeys. As always, the organisation before the trip was excellent. The tour itself had been carefully arranged, and our tour manager worked hard to ensure success, including having to change an activity one day because of poor weather. It is so reassuring to know that all arrangements are taken care of. Would thoroughly recommend GRJ for holidays in the UK and abroad.

Sociable group. Magnificent tour leader. Enjoyed all the outings despite variable weather. Hotel not the best i have stayed at but comfortable and reasonable food

Hotel good, excursions OK but could be adjusted in amount of time spent in each location, organizational good.
An enjoyable little train break with a packed intinary
Good hotel. Tour could have been timed better (if rail schedule allows). Too much time spent in in uninteresting villages. Might have been ok if tour guide had been able to show/lead any walks. Corfe especially lacks interest. Several hours there with only option to sit in pub. There is a small one room museum. Nothing else apart from the castle. Train schedule presumably to blame. The boat trip was great. Time would have been better spent in Swanage rather than Corfe. The Beaulieu and garden day outing was really interesting and worthwhile. Christchurch in the rain - pub again. Left to our own devices; could guide have helped?
No opportunity to walk along parts of coast which had fossils and prints ,which was my main reason for coming on the tour.I dixcussed this during a telephone conversation

A good short break and were very lucky with the weather otherwise the waits between things happening on the program might have been a bit trying . Overall a good mix of trains , boats , gardens and museums . Not long enough at Beaulieu Motor Museum , too long ay Corfe Castle . Very good Tour manager and a knowledgeable Coach driver . Hotel had free parking :-) . All the staff helpful . Several commented about lack of channels on their TV. Ours had has a child's password protection put on for Iplayer which never got sorted . Some parts a bit tired Did we enjoy it ? Yes we did !!!
We thought the whole trip was excellent. The trip manager organised things without fault and all of the venues were very interesting. The hotel was well sited near the coast and was quite near the railway station which was good for us as we travelled by train.
The tour was well organised and the tour guide, Lorraine, was helpful and gave interesting information.

A fantastic tour of the Dorset coastline and other area highlights. Brilliant tour manager Lorraine brought extra fun to the trip with her (optional) after dinner quizzes and delivered just enough information about the daily trips. Loved exploring this area and will be back under our own steam to see more!

Hotel in beautiful position in Bournemouth and staff were helpful and friendly. They were able to accommodate my gluten and dairy free diet. Not enough time in some of the small towns visited Alton, Alresford Chichester and no time in Swanage. Tour manager was helpful but was not a quide. Beautiful weather contributed to a lovely break

One of the trips could have been made better, by going to the end stations and do up and back down.

hotel excellent also the food excellent once again given a single room when i have paid a supplement the watercress line would have been better if we went up and down the line less time on the coach 3 hours that day
