Do NOT trust Jamie Arnold. We wanted to support a local company and understood that this involved taking some risk on helping with cash flow, therefore helped out with this probably against my better judgement. Oh how we were shafted and paid very heavily for our trust in him...
He asked us for more money only 2 days before we learned he had literally pulled down the shutters and despite numerous calls refused to return our messages. An honourable person might have at least called their clients to explain and apologise. Appalling way to treat your customers that you have got to know well and have treated you with respect... Worse still the oak frame was not measured correctly and the ridge meets a window on the house - how fundamentally amateur is that!!! That was the only bit he had not subcontracted - he can't even measure. If he starts up a new company (yet again) I will hunt him down. You have all been warned....!

Jamie Arnold owner Greenwood by Design took a deposit of £20k and a year later all we have is a stripped barn and he has stopped communicating . He has a history of starting company scamming deposits then dissolving the company. His wife Hetty’s business has also closed and she is just as bad so I’ve heard. Don’t trust this conman he’s scum and steals yr deposit without having any intention of doing any of the work. He presents himself as an establishment,reputable person with his past work but it’s all rubbish. He’s done this to 20 plus their people with his latest comapny and many more with his business names like Country Oak Frames Ltd. DONT HAVE ANYTHING DO DO WITH HIM !

Strongly advise against using any company Jamie Arnold is running, or involved with.

Job started well but then went downhill rapidly.
Jamie (James) Arnold walked off the job and broke the contract. He accused ME of threatening behaviour because I wanted to meet him face to face to sort out how and when he would be completing our job !
He wasn’t answering calls or messages .
Terrible experience, which is a shame as we used his previous company and had good service that time .
The only reason the company gets any star is for his workforce who despite their boss , tried their best to do the job!
He will be showing up in a new County, exhibiting at trade shows, showing off his past work to new unsuspecting clients.. but be warned , this company cannot be trusted!!!

The base and driveway for our new garage were completed by another company in April, ready for the oak frame by Green-wood. When it came to the installation day, the oak frame didn’t turn up and Jamie Arnold wouldn’t answer our calls, we realised we had been scammed.

We are utterly devastated.

After taking a deposit of over £15,000, he isn’t returning calls or emails. How on earth can someone do this to a family who trusted him?

ZWe have recently found out that he has done the same thing before. Two years ago under a different name - Country Oak Frames Ltd

Had an Oak Frame fitted by Country Oak Frames Ltd, then changed names to Greenwood by Design.
3 months after completion and customer paying Jamie Arnold in Full. Multiple problems started, Compriband glazing seals failed causing internal water ingress, Glazing panel shattered (compromising the safety of our home). Constant emails and phone calls to Jamie Arnold to rectify the outstanding issues. No return. Not the actions of a professional business they claim to be.

Stole £18000 from customer then went to ground not the first time he’s done this

Jamie Arnold failed to show up after taking a £17,700 deposit. Not returning calls or emails. Shop marked as closed on Google but the website is active and the company is still taking deposits.

The same director did exactly the same with Country Oak Frames Ltd in 2023, owing £1000s.
