I've been a long standing customer, but this was some of the worst customer service I've ever received from any business. Several issues with the ingredients during the week. Including having to replace the protein. Then very unhelpful customer service with a missing ingredient. Avoid the company.

Absolutely the worst experience I've had with any company. First our gift voucher didn't work, then when we cancelled our order and account while trying to fix it, weeks later we are charged still. Cannot contact support with the chat box after you have cancelled your subscription either.

I signed up thinking this would be more like Frive or Simmer, with ready-made meals, but it turns out it’s actually a cook-it-yourself recipe box. I also thought I’d cancelled the order straight away, but it was delivered anyway, which is SNEAKY af. the website UI said I had no upcoming delivery but this food turned up. So anyway, I cooked it.
Honestly, I struggle to see how this is more convenient than a normal grocery delivery. None of the ingredients are pre-prepped anyway; you still have to chop the broccoli, trim the green beans, etc. That’s not a problem in itself, but then what exactly is the benefit here?
The service also seems designed around cooking a completely different meal every night, rather than helping people batch cook or save time across the week. And every recipe seems to rely on using the oven. Great, so I’m meant to turn the oven on every evening just to cook two chicken breasts at a time?
I was also surprised by the amount of packaging. Lots of individually wrapped ingredients, produce shipped from far away including green beans from Africa, and loads of plastic everywhere. For a company called “Green Chef”, the environmental side really didn’t match the branding for me.

On multiple occasions, (not always) we have received very poor quality meat that I do not consider fit for human consumption.
Mince beef that is unchewable, same for chicken. Often ends up in the dog, and the Mrs also finding it hard to cancel....
I have even wondered if their business model is basically dressing up low quality cheap meat that they get at discount. If not, then if worry about their trusted meat supply chains

they try to charge me even after cancelling the account beware ..

This company took money out of my account without permission. I cancelled within minutes as I got a bad feeling... I contacted Green Chef. They sent me an email confirming the order was cancelled. I spoke to my bank and they still took money out! They still have my details so I have cancelled my card, I should have done that on the first interaction. The reviews on here scared me and I will be much more careful from now on. Do not use this company they are not UK run and do not use our rules.
Edit - Twice this company have promised me a refund and never got back to me.
Edit - Eventually got a refund. Stressful hassle.

We have only had one box with two meals in at the moment but the recipes were easy to make and very tasty. It's usually quite difficult to find meals for my husband as he's a fussy eater but I found it easy to find suitable meals on Green Chef. Looking forward to the next box!

I ordered 5 meals for 2 people. I received all the meals I ordered but no recipe cards for 2 of the meals then a recipe card for a random meal. That is the only negative that the online chat they were looking into it then never replied.
Now the positive: the food quality is amazing from the packaging to the taste all perfect. The steps by step instructions were great. When I looked at the packs I was so pleased in the portion sizes the two meals I've made were restaurant quality. I'm looking forward to my next 2 boxes.

Having used several recipe delivery companies in the past and not being overly impressed with any of them Greenchef was our last hope! Pleased to say they have restored our faith…easy to use app, delivered on time, fresh ingredients of a good quality and interesting recipes! Most importantly as a working mum the recipes are quick, simple to follow and the kids love them too!

Ah excellent recipe service. I've found my weekly food bill has actually gone down by using Green Chef. I get more variety and better nutrition in my meals.
A very good introductory offer and the flexibility to tailor your order and skip weeks when you want.
Very good for vegetarians.

Not the best start ,as I cancelled my account immediately but still received an unwanted box . However the situation was finally resolved

Rescheduled order due to being away. Order wasn't rescheduled and left on door step. When I realised the rescheduled order hadn't been rescheduled I contacted customer service at least 4 days before the order was originally due to be originally delivered as I noticed a payment leaving my account. The customer services rep was not helpful and eventually cut me off.

Nice meals but a few are quite small portions, some meals I could easily eat both portions

Outrageous service. I went on the app to look at the food and decided against it. Today I had £28 taken from my bank account and told a box of food was coming Saturday and it’s too late to cancel. Told them I didn’t order it, no help from customer service. Disgusting

This company is US-based, and therefore absolutely impossible to reach. I am desperatly trying to contact them to cancel my account and the chatbot doesn't work, there is no email to contact them, and the only support email available is a US number, which a) costs a fortune to call and b) is useless as the team on the phone cannot access the accounts of non-US-based customers. If you're going to offer a service in the UK at least make sure you have teams on the ground!
Edit: Giving 3 stars as after 15min on the phone with a US agent they did send me an email with a number to contact the UK branch (in case someone needs it it's 020 4538 1121; it doesn't appear on the UK contact page)

I’ve had a really positive experience with Green Chef overall. The food quality is consistently great, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed the meals I’ve made. The service has also been excellent—everything arrives on time, and any issues I’ve had were handled quickly and professionally.
That said, the price does feel a bit high for what you get. I usually order the 2 recipes with 4 meals for one person, which works out at about £7.11 per meal. While the convenience and quality are good, that’s still quite expensive for meals you’re cooking yourself at home. I think if the price were closer to £5 per meal, it would feel much more reasonable and better value for money.
I also think some of the negative reviews I’ve seen aren’t entirely fair. In my experience, the issues people mention can sometimes be exaggerated, and Green Chef does make an effort to resolve problems when they arise. Even when delivery issues have come up, such as a driver leaving the box in an inappropriate place like the main road, both Green Chef and DPD have made an effort to put things right.
Overall, it’s a great service with high-quality food and strong customer support, but the pricing could be more competitive. Give them a 2nd chance if your trying to get fit and healthy!

I have found the meals so far tasty, healthy and easy to make. I am mostly choosing low carb ones and it's good there are filters like this. I just need to be careful not to choose any too spicy for me.

I found the choice not great so struggled a bit to pick 4 recipes to try.

The meals are very nourishing and very tasty. Easy to prepare and time saving with all the ingredients there ready to use. I chose the low calorie options and I have lost weight from eating them. The box is always delivered on time with great care.
