I've donated at the North York site and the staff are friendly and efficient. They did their best to make me feel comfortable.

The staff there is racist. Dont go there if you are white- they will leave you sitting there after you are done and go unhook all the homies first. I got tired of waiting and had to unhook my self so I got banned. Ill find somewhere where they screen they're employees

Speed drastically reduced on the apheresis machine during my plasma donation.
When they slow down the plasmapheresis machine too much,
it causes donors to lose too much plasma; creates unnecessary body weakness afterwards: increases the donor's risk; and
causes the needle to remain in the arm for prolonged periods creating soreness and/or unnecessary bruising; the donation time doubled; the amount of plasma increased,
but no donor payment was increased.
The tech that does this was asked not to do it, but continues to slow the plasmapheresis machine down way too much.
I have noticed that I am hooked up to the plasmapheresis machine so long that the rest of donor plasmapheresis beds and donor room are empty.
Vallyn was excellent at her job
Vallyn was excellent at her job. She is quick and efficient. The process was painless. This is a great blessing that provides extra finances to the doner, much needed plasma for medical needs and jobs in our community. People like Vallyn make the process as pleasant as possible.

I went there to donate and was turned away and falsely accused and I reported this 2 days ago and never heard anything about it. I want this to be reported and something to be done about it and somebody to contact me about this and hopefully it never happens again.
I think this Cambridge Location may be in the training stage.
I think this Cambridge Location may be just getting started. I am used to going to Canadian Blood Service where the professionalism is top notch. At Grifols, they don't seem to have a knowledge of common medications. I had to spell them out and I never have to do that at Canadian Blood Service. I also got rejected due to Ventolin(Salbutamol) for my Asthama, and that is fine if plasma has a stricter limit, but things like that should be screened out during the online application process. This would save everyone time. I was relieved though because it does seem like everyone there is just learning the ropes. As with every beginning business, this does not mean they cannot achieve a better experience going forward.
I had a good and first time experience…
I had a good and first time experience at the Grifols plasma donation centre in Hamilton. Lovedeep was going into the details about when to donate and the bonus program. I don't know if because the way he explained or didn't explained clearly, but l had a difficult time grasping the conversation, but he didn't show any patience. He was showing impatience, he signed and rolled his eyes. I felt uncomfortable and irritable. I'm a first time donor and and he told me alot of information, so l felt overwhelmed, nervous and anxious and l sense he showed no empathy. This is where professionalism should comes into play.
Please be patient and understanding with new donors. We can try to improve and do better on the daily.
The good new is my experience with Hie, the nurse, and the staff in the donation room was A+.They were professional, patient, caring and they helped me to feel comfortable and assuring before, during and after donating plasma.
I appreciate your work and continue the good work. Highly recommend

unprofessional, jealous employees
This company has some unprofessional, disrespectful employees...they deferred me for no reason at all. I guess jealousy but, anyway I would never recommend anyone to them.

I have previously donated my plasma at xxxx pharma plasma center here in Denver several times with out a single issue.
I had made a switch to Grifols to take advantage of there new Downer pay outs. This proved to be a very negative experience with very bad results. My first donation was smooth with out issue. Second was a failure with reposition attempts and multiple restricts. Left the center with both arms wrapped in ice packs and a return of blood failure. The reposition attempts seemed extreme with the so called vain specialist cranking the needle sideways creating the needle area to swell significantly. They sent an other employee to insert a new needle into my other arm. He seemed to be uncopident and had a so called vain specialist direct him which vain he should use. The needle looked to be placed a bit on the deep side and after about 10 minutes the location swelled up. They pulled the needle without a full blood return.
Both my arms in countered bruising that took a week and a half to go away. I went back after I got rid of the bruising to have yet again a failure that required reposition attempts and three restricts. After spending an other week plus using ice and heat to cure the bruising. I went back to give a donation to find out they put me on a list that required me to be reviewed by there vain specialist. They acted as if there was a problem with my veins and told me to do exercises and come back in a week and a half. This left me frustrated and they acted as if I was the problem.
I returned to xxxx pharma and had a completely smooth donation with no issues. My personal experience with Grifols was very bad. Multiple times with bruising and trauma to my arms. The team on the floor seemed to me as lacking compliance and having issues with inserting the needle correctly. I did not ever feel like that when I donated at Octo pharma. Never a issue with them missing a vain or leaving there center bruised.
