Gröna Lund, or colloquially Grönan, is an amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden.
Lilla Allmänna Gränd 9, 115 21, Stockholm, Sweden
Expensive and it should just do concerts.
Far too expensive for what you get – I won’t be returning
Gröna Lund has a nice atmosphere, but the entire experience was ruined by long lines, overpriced food, and disappointing quality.
We regularly stood in line for up to an hour for several rides. With a day ticket costing 595 SEK, and the optional Jetpass adding another 495 SEK (a total of 1090 SEK per person), you'd expect to be able to ride more than 8–10 attractions in a full day. But with these wait times, that’s simply not realistic – unless you pay for premium access. That creates a clear divide between those who can afford it and everyone else. It feels outdated and unfair.
Prices throughout the park were also completely unreasonable:
– One game attempt at a booth: 85 SEK
– An ice cream: nearly 100 SEK
– Fries and some dry, kebab-style meat (more like sliced meatloaf): 450 SEK for 3 people
– 10 frozen churros straight from the freezer into the fryer: 80 SEK – tasted like soggy, reheated waffles.
The park feels like a money machine, where you first pay a high entry fee, and then are constantly pressured to spend even more – with little actual value in return. The queuing system is ineffective, the food is mediocre and overpriced, and the whole experience left us feeling ripped off.
I won’t return unless serious improvements are made. Visitors’ time and money should be respected – not exploited.
To extensiv, lying one the waiting time. The writh 30-40min and i stays like that. But the real waiting was 65 min. Not all atratktion in service. It's a pitty to PayPal for out of Service.
I visited the well publicised ”Obscura” with my family and what an absolute waste of time after queueing for an hour in the rain. It consists of sitting in a dark room with a flash of light (twice) and some whispering in the earphones fitted on your head… THAT’S IT… Gröna Lund you owe me and my family 1hr and 10 minutes of my life, I have visited many amusement shows during my life and this is hands down the worst and biggest rip off I have ever experienced.
Your hype is basically monetary deception.
Altough we were at the gate we had to buy tickets online first. Which was complicated because we were with 2 families of 5 and some not wanted to do all the ride attractions.
For the older kids that take the rides it was ok.
For the rest that choose to do the 5 camp it was extremly expensive. For the 499kr you can only do 5 games. The levels for getting a prices are almost impossible to reach for an adult and really not posible for a child. So in the end you have to pay a lot extra for the "extra" games. In the total we spend almost 100 euro extra, excluding the food and drinks.
Last weekend, we grabbed a cheap flight to Stokholm and got to enjoy the city for 48 hours. An absolute highlight was the Gröna Lunds Tivoli AB theme park, just a short tram ride away from the centre.
The park is split in two, a section for young kids that I explored with my 8 year old, and then then the bigger park, where we went on everything that was under the height restriction of 140 cm's. Quite simply, brilliant. They have a great ride selection, including a big roller coaster, specially for kids, a genuinely scary haunted house, and the best fun house I've been in, including a magic carpet ride.
The best things for me though were the staff, and the food. The staff were everywhere. Despite being a quiet day in the park, every game, food van, and ride was open. When it came for food, I didn't want junk, so ended up having the most delicious tofu salad I had my entire trip.
This is how more theme parks should be done!
Crazy expensive and already at 21:05 we were denied to every carousel we tried - the reason according to the staff was that the it closes at 21:30 and that the queue time is already 20 minutes, so basically the last part of the four hour ticket was something we couldn’t use at all.
Extremely expensive for a family with young kids. There’s no option to buy single tickets per attraction, so if your 4 year old is tired or scared after 2 rides, that was almost 200kr per ride! At least during most of the summer.
Total rip off!
