Avoid they are tyrants!.

Absolute Tyrant company, absolutely disgusting the way they treat customers. They are money hungry and think they are above consumer rights! Buy your plants and subsequently items from a company that don't hate you if you flicker a thought of negatively about them or there service!.

I went for an interview recently..they already had my CV which they hadn't printed off..i had to fill in so many forms it was ridiculous..the guy I assume quite high up was very difficult to speak to and explain my previous history of admin..almost as if he didn't want to understand and very offish and undermined my last position...then I had to continue filling in the multiple forms...I then had another interview with a lady who was very nice and approachable...after the interview she said they would be in touch if I get through to the second interview...there were at least 5 woman there at the same time for the interview sitting on plastic chairs in the garden centre with these lengthy forms...one of the questions being how much would you be expecting to be paid in 2 years time...no wonder they are still advertising...horrendous place..when I left I couldn't wait to get out..

Only thing that lets them down ?

We buy a lot of Gardening Materials from here when we are actually in their Garden center. But....
Today looked up on the website and found just what we were looking for - 1.5kg Sulfate of Iron £6.95 and 20ltr Rhododendron Compost Ericaceous 3 bags for £7.50 - after driving all the way there was none in stock - not even a sign - that would have at least shown they had stock but sold out - no sign - nothing - so please don't go by the website and waste your time traveling.

Customer Service is Awful

I was very disappointed by how greedy this store was after years of my custom.
After buying edging, I found I bought 1 too many. Took it back with the receipt to be told unless it is faulty or damaged, I would only get a Credit Note. Sorry, what? I paid perfect cash and just wanted to return what I didn't need.

I find this awful that they would only give you credit and not your money back, only to be able to use in store. I will never return to this store again

Very poor quality plants - dont waste your money

4 plants from a mixture of 15 trailing geraniums, trailing begonias and petunias, looked very sad the day after purchase. Now just over a week on, a couple more have very limp leaves, the leaves are beginning to fall off, and overall a very sad state of affairs. Kept the plants shaded outside during the day, and in the greenhouse overnight to 'harden them off'. Have emptied a couple from their pots and there is hardly any root to be seen, so very poor root stock. Overall, a very poor experience with very very poor quality plants. Definitely will not be returning to Plants Galore Topsham.

Appalling customer service

Absolutely poor customer service and very rude staff.
I bought £54 worth of plants and compost. I went to the till and the items were rung up by staff member. It came to £54.60. The card machine showed that amount and my card payment was approved and I left the store. I was then chased across the car park by and any member of staff shouting my payment hadn’t gone through, and I hadn’t paid. Which I found embarrassing, we went back to the till and the cashier said i had paid and the transaction had been approved as I had stated. This supervisor who had approached me in the car park then said well I hadn’t paid. It’s not come up on the till, I told her I had and this was not acceptable. I had trouble loading my banking app as there is limited signal. Then my phone loaded a message saying I had just paid Plants Galore £17. I showed the staff they were very dismissive and that was from a previous time. I said I have only just come in here and not shopped here before this year. They said I was basically a liar and had not paid for anything, as there is no transaction for £17 on the till.
They called another supervisor and she searched the card machine found my £17 payment even though it didn’t appear on the till, but somehow it was sent to the card machine. The sales assistant confirmed the machine had shown £54.60 and it was approved. So clearly they have a very serious IT issue, I note other reviews with spurious extra items on their receipts, it seems mine removed items, but it’s clearly and issue.
I paid the missing £37.60 there was no real attempt to apologise for embarrassing me and dismissed it and IT error. None of this was my fault and I should not have been embarrassed in front of numerous other customers and treated with such disrespect and disregard.

I wish I’d read all the poor reviews prior to going there!!
The company do not respond to any of the negative reviews which gives you an idea of what they think of their customers, I will never return.

Always check the reviews first.

As a company when you look at your awful reviews and see customers upset by your inflexible exchange policy do you conclude:
A. Time to give the duty managers some discretion when a customer has travelled intending to spend more money but needs to exchange an item that is unsuitable.
B. The policy is on the wall over there, see?
You stuck to your policy, we shopped elsewhere.

Praise for Yeovil venture

I'm horrified by some of these reviews. Lovely range of plants bright & cheap. Staff helpful if not always knowledgeable. They've installed good loos, done up the car park & access. Some of the path between the plant areas are not easy with the gravel, so leave your trolley at the end. They're looking to create a cafe, YIPPEE! I can't wait but appreciate the tea urn in the meantime. I've not had problems with the plants. Excellent value for money & I'm a plantaholic. Love going there.

Be aware of their returns policy

We thought about moving a large palm type tree into a pot as it had fallen over during the bad weather spell. We discussed it with a salesperson in the Garden Centre - great advice and very helpful. We purchased a very large pot, stakes and compost. A substantial amount of money spent. On trying to dig up and move the tree we decided it was too large so we decided to shore it up in situ. On returning the pot we were told that their policy was no refund just a credit note. I would never think of returning plants but pots and decorative items maybe. The pot was £66 pounds

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!

This company should not be allowed to trade! They are knowingly charging people for extra plants and not giving refunds when they get found out! I had only just left the till area but was still accused of theft and told to email my request. One reply saying they're looking into it and then nothing. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!

Caution poor quality plants

Caution poor quality plants. I paided over £100 for a magnolia and when I got it home the same day someone pointed out it had a disease all over the leaves. Emailed plants galore with photos they asked for proof of purchase and emailed that then no response No refund No exchange. What a poor seller.

New Yeovil branch worth a visit

I am reviewing the new Yeovil branch. There is tons of parking including disabled parking and it is wheelchair friendly. The plants are super cheap and stunning. The quality is high, higher than most garden centres. I bought some herbs, a big pot not the tiny things you get elsewhere. £10.95 for ready planted hanging baskets, I bought one with bright pink petunias, I’ve had many positive reviews. Their new range of roses is stunning. Many at our expensive garden centre have black spot, there was not a single “spot of black” on any of theres.

There multipurpose compost is good and super cheap compared with everywhere else.

There are plenty of staff, they are extremely helpful and knowledgable. They deserve worth 5* s each. There are also enough of them to cope with the massive queues to pay, they have plenty of tills.

I am not normally prone to gushing and certainly don’t exaggerate, this place is worth a visit. We’re off on our 4th visit today.

Note, it’s a plant centre, not a garden centre with an expensive cafe and hundreds of expensive things you don’t want.

The only problem is stopping yourself spending too much!

Owners will not make disabled parking …

The actual garden centre is accessible once inside but they have no disabled parking bays which makes it a nightmare to park as a wheelchair user because on more than one occasion someone has parked too close and then had to wait for a long time to get in the car, I have spoken to management who said the owners have been asked multiple times but are not interested which is an awful attitude, so somewhere I wouldn’t give business to because they don’t care for accessibility.

But they don't want to know.
