Garbage!!!

Bought Grundig washing machine a month ago! Stopped working now, just makes loud noise and turns off after 30-40 seconds! Impossible to get any customer support, they just put you on hold for ages! And that is UK number, because Irish number is damn unobtainable! 400 Euro for a washing machines that lasts a month! What now? Anybody is going to talk to me at all? I literally spent my only day off trying to contact you!! Never again I am buying anything from Grundig and going to unrecommend it to everyone I know!!! Answer the damn phone!!

Grundig double oven

Grundig double oven
This is just 4 months old. Has not worked at the right temperature since i bought it. After 3 months of arguing with them over whether i have it on the right setting etc etc they arrange an engineer which i had to wait 3 weeks for. He arrived on Wednesday and had been sent the wrong parts. I now have to wait until 14 December for them to come back and fix the oven.

This is an absolute disgrace. I do not know how these big companies get away with it. I am so angry. Every time I call i have to explain myself again. Thats after up to 2 hours waiting to be put through to someone who does nothing but tell you they will escalate to a manager and then they will call back in the next 2 hours. Well 4 phone calls in the last 3 days being told the same and not one call from a manager.

I will never buy another Grundig product.

Avoid, can't get our 11 month old dishwasher sorted

I bought a dishwasher less than a year ago. It just stopped working 2 weeks ago. We were told an engineer would be with us at the end of the week. No contact from the engineer, we rang back and were told he was prioritising fridges! We were told he would be on to us in 24 hours. We are now 2 weeks and nothing. We can't even get through to them. Do not touch these products

Grundig Washer Dryer - AWFUL!!! STAY AWAY!!!!

Grundig deserves ZERO stars for the experience I’ve had the last four months.

I bought a washer dryer from Curry’s and it was a Grundig model. Within the first week, the buttons on the stainless steel front begun to come off. It looked tatty and horrid. This is one thing you would not expect from a £450 washer dryer! I rang Curry’s and they offered an exchange. I wish I had just seen this as a warning for things to come!!!!

The new machine worked for less than four weeks. It overheated, a plastic paddle inside the drum melted and smelt of burning. They couldn’t even tell me as to what the fault was when I questioned them. I informed them it was dangerous but only a repair this time was offered. Curry’s gave me the number of Grundig’s customer service so I contacted them to arrange this.

The customer service team will sort the repair and give you a date for an engineer over the phone. HOWEVER, if you get off the phone feeling relieved after being told that it’ll be “less than a week” to be repaired then please don’t believe it!!!!!

The engineer, who is contracted by them, called to confirm but the date given directly from him was three and a half weeks away. Not a week! This was because of the overwhelming demand and workload he had. As a mother, I simply cannot be without a machine that long due to having small children.

I rang back Grundig and didn’t even receive an apology for the miscommunication etc. I made a complaint and waited for them to find a resolve. I spent two days going between them and Curry’s because enough was enough. Grundig never addressed the complaint formally. Eventually, Curry’s sorted the issue. I was offered a new machine and this is now the BIGGEST REGRET EVER!!!!!

This morning, the bottom of the machine flooded my kitchen! I am beyond upset and angry!!!! How?!? Just how can this happen!!!! I do not even use the any of the drying features on the machine as I am too terrified to do so! This machine is just over SEVEN WEEKS OLD and is used every other day! The buttons on the front are also wearing off again. It is not fit for purpose! Other similar models have had their glass door explode! I am not the only one... it’s beyond a joke!

I’ve logged a complaint with Grundig AGAIN!!!! I don’t want a repair! I DONT WANT TO WAIT WEEKS AND WEEKS. I don’t want to have to spend time and energy fighting this with the companies! I want my money back!!! Take the appliance out of my house once and for all.

I know they won’t resolve the issues so I’m warning others to stay away and not buy their products or deal with their SHOCKING customer care.

I’m just off to write my letter to Trading Standards!

Rubbish Grundig Tall larder Fridge

I dont know why I have to give any stars for the above Company I brought a Grundig Tall larder fridge just 4 years ago with a 5 year warranty. For some months brown rust has been coming through the lower vents into both my salad boxes. It is so bad that each week we have to get a bowl of hot water to wash everything otherwise it covers all our fruit and veges before we can use the boxes once again .Grundig as usual are trying to get out of the Warrenty by stating the small Company we bought if from is not VAT registered. Well this is just another one of their excuses to not take responsibility of their Guarantees for faulty products. The fridge then stopped working last week and we had to buy another (Bosch) this time but we decided to remove the back panel inside the fridge. Well if only we could send a photo what we found when this panel was removed. All the metal filaments that ran from top to bottom were covered in rust and at the bottom of the fridge was about a 4" pile across of the rust filings. We actually weighed the filings and they came to over 1lb 8oz (which l think is .7 of a Kilo) In the booklet that came with the Guarantee it states this is covered by "repairs necessary as a result of faulty materials, defective components or manufacturing defect". I understand than a number of people have also complained about rust in the fridge so as usual Grundig are trying not to honour their Warrenty. We are thinking of contact Trading Standards or perhaps Watchdog would be better. Any ideas on the best way forward.

Guarantee is a rip off and compensation should be paid

We bought a heat pump tumble drier with a 5 year guarantee, it broke in under 4 years after 3 weeks decided it couldn't be repaired but exchanged for another given a code and told to go back to Curry's who will give you another if you pay the extra as that model isn't sold now, what is the use of a grundig 5 year guarantee if you then have to pay extra. After arguing for an hour with Curry's they agreed a refund, but both the manufacturer and Curry's are leading you to buy under false pretences that you have some protection. So Grundig products will never be purchased again and I won't be stepping inside or buying anything from another Curry's. Grundig should have just bought out the latest version of the tumble drier of course models and costs will go up in 5 years. So don't believe any guarantee not worth anything just one month of stress and hours wasted trying to sort it out.

Known fault with dryer Grundig won’t tell you about!

Bought a condenser dryer, it’s had an issue from day dot. Thought the problem might go away once it was plumbed out instead of using the water tank, but it didn’t. Grundig then arranged for A.N.D to repair the dryer. Well less then 24 hours before A.N.D cancelled the appointment because they didn’t order the PCB needed for the repair. According to them there is an know fault with these dryers and it needs a new PCB. So, after the PCB arrives and the engineer finally makes his way to repair the dryer, he won’t touch it because the dryer is stacked - Something I already informed Grundig about. Wrang Grundig and explained, they said I need to put the dryer on the floor. I live on my, I have no one to help me and they won’t arrange for two engineers to come over and help, I have to find someone to do this myself! Grundig also slipped up on the phone stating that their is a manufacturers fault on the dryer but earlier in the conversation tried to make out the statement from A.N.D was the first she heard there was a known fault. DO NOT BUY ANY GRUNDIG APPLIANCES! Their products and their customer service cannot be trusted.

If I could give 0 stars I would please…

If I could give 0 stars I would please do not buy a grundig fridge freezer mine has broke after 2 years fridge freezer not cold at all, all food ruined we contacted grundig support as the product was still under warranty to be told they could get someone out the next day, however the day they were due to come out it started working again so the advise we were given over the phone to reinflate the seals seemed to have worked so we cancelled the engineer as he wouldn’t have been able to find a fault the next day everything had completely defrosted again . So we rang grundig again to be told the earliest they could come out was was in 8 days time. Then today the day before they are due to come out To us,due to our engineer self isolating for 14 days They can not send anyone now till 24th November this will now be over a month until anyone can come out to us. Have rung up several times to be told they had escalated to the complaints department, to contact curry’s , that they couldn’t transfer us to anyone else. Disgusting I have two children and we are living out of a wine cooler. I didn’t expect to pay £1000 for a fridge freezer for it to break after 2 years and for the customer support to be so awful terrible company, terrible product and I am still without a fridge freezer as apparently there is no other engineers in my area absolutely fuming, won’t have one for Christmas at this rate

The worst dishwasher you could ever…

The worst dishwasher you could ever have from the second year I repeatedly had problem with the machine. It never worked accurately since the second year of purchase. I had over 8 visits for repairs this year. This means several months I was left with a broken dishwasher because it wasn't repaired correctly. Or if it was then the same fault arises which unable the machine’s program to work adequately. I will not recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. I called to enquire about an ongoing repair on my washing machine, because they said they'd call back but after two weeks of waiting I decided I'd do their job for them. They were so rude on the phone and actually hung up on me. RIDICULOUS PEOPLE! AVOID GRUNDIG, their warranties are enticing BUT they actually don't hold their end of the deal.

Worst customer service ever!

Purchased American fridge freezer in 2018. Ice unit stopped working and reported the fault. Engineer came 21/09/20 and went off to order the part. Hasn’t been seen since. Called numerous times and left in a queue. Eventually got through 2 weeks ago and was promised a call back. Still waiting! They don’t answer the phone and the enquiry form on website does not work. We maybe in the middle of a pandemic but I am working from home and still manage to give my customers first class service. Have you any training requirements I could help you with?

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer experience…

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer experience I have ever had. DishwasherGNF41821X, bought from Currys. Error message E01 as soon as we turned it on. Spent 40 minutes on phone waiting to speak to a Grundig engineer, set up engineer visit a week later, who confirmed there was a failed weld in the machine. Said they would call within 2 days to arrange a replacement. Never happened. A further 40 minutes on the phone 5 days later, to be sent back to phone retailer (another 40 minutes) who then sent me back to the engineer again in a perpetual loop! Terrible experience.

Grundig GSN10710D W Larder Fridge - Brown Powder (Rust)

I have had this fridge a few years and in the summer I noticed fine brown powder in the lower tray and on the glass shelf and assumed something had been spilled so I cleared it up. I went to the fridge yesterday to put things in the lower tray and the brown powder was back all over the bottom of the fridge and in the vents.
I contacted Grundig UK explaining the problem and asked if the fridge is safe to use and what they would do to resolve it. Their response is below (I have removed the name of the sender):

Dear Mr Tebbutt,
Thank you for your email dated 16/10/2020 in reference to your Grundig product.
I apologise for the delay in responding to your email,
Unfortunately the appliance is out of its manufacturer's warranty, we are unable to assist further.
Kind Regards,
Grundig Customer Services

Amazingly they don't seem intersted in investigating what is clearly an inherent defect and possibly a dangerous issue with their own product. A quick internet search reveals this is a problem also experienced by other owners.
Grundig still sell an identical looking fridge under a different model number.
I now wish I hadn't bought the matching freezer.

Update 18.10.2020 - In response to me expressing my displeasure at the original response and asking for answers to questions regarding the brown powder and safety issues I have now received the following:

Dear Mr Tebbutt,

Thank you for your email dated 16/10/2020 in reference to your Grundig product.
Unfortunately as the appliance comes with a 5 year warranty we are unable to cover it after the guarantee runs out.
From what you have described we would advise that it may not be repairable.
Once again i apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused as i do understand there is never a right time for a appliance to break down.
Kind Regards,
Grundig Customer Services

In each of my emails to Grundig I have asked if the brown powder appearing in the fridge is hazardous and so far they have ignored the question. I have emailed again asking what it is and if it is a heath hazard. There is no doubt they know the answer but seem unwilling to share the information.
I have been looking for a replacement and interestingly on the model I have seen Hotpoint offer a 10 year parts guarantee so they have more confidence in their products than Grundig.

After pressing again for answers I have now received the following message:

Dear Mr Tebbutt,

Thank you for your email dated 17/10/2020 in reference to your Grundig product.
I do apologies about the delay in responding to your email.
The cause of the red dust will be down to the pipes and the back rusting.

Kind Regards,
Grundig Customer Services

Grundig tall larder fridge GSN10710 DW

Very disappointed that the tall larder fridge has developed a faulty evaporator. It is rusting badly and churning the brown rust into the fridge behind the salad door. It is unsafe to use and needs replacing. Currys/PCWorld have offered like-for-like exchange but have not got the hotpoint fridge in stock. What do I have to do to get some satifaction from either Grundig or Currys PC World I will never, ever trade with either company again and neither will family or friends. Extremely poor customer services. The guarantee is worthless. Angela Fairhurst. Fridge bought in Sept. 2016.
