We take all feedback seriously and want to assure you that we do not rip people off. Our business has been proudly serving customers for over 61 years with an excellent reputation. I am more than happy to look into your concerns—please email me your vehicle registration at sales@gssgarage.co.uk
so I can investigate further and give you a call.

Update 01/09/25:

After a full review of your invoice, I’d like to clarify the charges:

Main Battery: 1 hour labour, as per Autodata’s recommended time. We fitted a Genuine Mercedes battery at £266 (including VAT and fitting). For comparison, Kwik Fit quote £264–£276 for a non-genuine battery.

Auxiliary Battery: Located inside the centre console, we charged ½ hour labour and supplied a Genuine Mercedes battery at £138.60 (including VAT and fitting). Neither Kwik Fit nor Halfords could provide a quote for this, as it is not a service they normally offer.

Eco Charge: £9.95 + VAT to safely dispose of old batteries.

MOT: £54.85, which is broadly in line with other providers (Kwik Fit charge £49.99).

When compared directly with national chains, our prices are fair and reflect the use of genuine Mercedes parts. We have not overcharged you, and we are confident in the value of the work carried out.

If you feel there has been any misunderstanding, I’d be happy to discuss this further. Otherwise, I kindly ask you to reconsider and remove your review, as it does not reflect the facts of the service provided.

Kind regards,
Adam

UPDATE 02/09/2025

Following your review and our phone call on 01/09/2025, I took the time to investigate your claim further. You mentioned that Kwik Fit quoted £100 less for the same work. However, after contacting three separate Kwik Fit locations directly, including the one you called for the quote. I can confirm that they do not replace auxiliary batteries—this can be verified through recorded calls of each of the Kwik Fit branches I have contacted.
So now after calling several Kwik Fit branches — and received the same response: they do not carry out this type of work. I relayed this back to you and asked you to obtain a written quote or confirmation from them. You have yet to provide any evidence of this. I have since attempted to call you again and left a voicemail, requesting a copy of this alleged quote and again asking you to reconsider your review.

We stand by the fairness and accuracy of our pricing. The parts used were genuine OEM components, not aftermarket, and the job was carried out to a high standard, in line with manufacturer guidance.
