No communication, nothing received

Placed an order on 16th Jan. Now 8th Feb and have had no word on it whatsoever - but have been charged. Have emailed them using the two different addresses found on here, plus messaged on Instagram and had nothing. Utterly terrible customer service.

This winter

This winter, with both a large sale on and an updating website happening at the same time has meant we can't even see our orders to correct etc.
It has been a nightmare for customers so no idea how the work team have coped
I still love Gudrun Sjödén. I love that its organic, that the dyes don't pollute, and that the makers get fair pay.
And the clothes make me feel happy.
I hope my returns go smoothly. I'll update if not.
Thanks GS Team.

Serious problems

During recent years I´ve ordered many beautiful clothes from Gudrun and I have been pleased with everything. But this year something is different. I ordered a blouse which I never got. Instead I got someone elses clothes. I´ve tried to contact the customers service by mail, but they dont answer. I called, but the call went off and I havent heard of them since. Something must be terribly wrong there. Why not admitting instead of making it worse by saying everything is ok?

I was client for many years... not any more !

I was client for many years... not anymore !

I was client for many years, but I am very disappointed with the drop in quality (combined with a raise in prices !!).
The quality of the fabrics is specially bad. Now, even "medium to heavy weight" linen are super thin, fragile and short-lived. The knits (linen, cotton and wool) are lose, fragile, and show holes quickly despite adequate care.
A cotton/linen dress and a linen tunic developed holes under the arms after less than 6 months of wear.
The back-side seams of three pairs of trousers ripped, because the fabric thinned so much and so quickly.
And all this by these prices !
I haven't bought anything in the past year, and only a few items the year before that. The prices are not justified by the quality presented, and there are better offers elsewhere.

A waste of time …. Quite literally

It’s a pity this company rely on a useless carrier in the form of UPS . I have wasted hours attempting to return an item via one of their so called ‘drop off points’ . Shops previously used discontinue the service - parcels can’t be left after 2pm on a Friday … and then Gudrun have the cheek to charge £10 for the privilege of this inconvenience! … on this occasion that won’t happen as I’m returning an item described as 100% wool which on trying crackled with static electricity-indicating synthetic fabric content - all in all a disappointing experience from start to finish . To top it all when contacted for help I was left feeling the time we’d wasted endeavouring to drop off the parcel was our fault ( for not checking parcels can’t be received on a Friday???…. No information of that kind on website )…. No explanation as to why stores appear on the list who have discontinued working with Gudrun/UPS… no apology for time wasted on abortive attempts to part with this parcel ….. the very last item I’ll purchase .

I have never bought from Gudrun Sjoden…

I have never bought from Gudrun Sjoden before but thought I would try their leggings. They were advertised at £11 each if you bought 2 pairs, but once at checkout there was an additional service charge, this along with the postage increased the cost. They were still a good price, but the addition of £4 for a legging at check out left a bad taste. They should just be honest about the cost from the start. I have never come across a service charge before, what is it?
In addition, reading the reviews about the returns cost has totally put me off ordering from them.
A potential new customer lost. Be transparent then we know exactly what the costs are from the start.

Return shipping label is useless

I would like to highlight an ongoing issue (apart from the misleading £10 "free" return label, which they charge you with even if you bought multiple items and you dare to return 1 of them.)

I'm buying clothing from them in the past 5 years and it's about a year now that the return label they sent was/is "always" printed on a type of paper which makes the print flake off very easily. So if you need to use the return label, the barcode and address will be completely damaged by the time you have finished to pack your parcel for the return.
Needless to say, UPS will not accept the parcel with flaked off barcode... It happened to me a few times already during the last year...

When I contacted customer service to email me a shipping label, they refused it. They said I should rather use Royal Mail... but when I asked them who will refund me if the parcel gets lost, they said... Royal Mail should do it.

However Royal Mail will do it "only" if I have insured the contents of the parcel, otherwise they don't. That means if I'm returning a parcel of £300, and I need to insure that, my shipping costs go much higher than the £10 return label would have been.

I came to believe they do the label printing on flaky paper on purpose, so they can push you to use Royal Mail instead, so they won't refund you in case of a loss... otherwise this ongoing issue doesn't make sense.

Obviously the shipping label they use to send you the parcel is printed on a different type of paper which lasts +++

Honestly, I love some of their clothing, and I'm still buying from them sometimes... but I find these issues unethical and too money oriented which damages the relationship with customers...

Unexpected £10 charged for returning a…

Unexpected £10 charged for returning a T-shirt using a ‘ free’ returns label. Beware that if you use the free UPS label they will deduct £10 from your refund. On the back of the delivery note under Exchanges and returns are simple it says ‘Tear off the pre-paid return label and stick it to your parcel’ no mention is made that £10 will be deducted from your refund. I took this up with customer services and was told it said it elsewhere on the paperwork(??) so it was my fault I didn’t know. I feel this is very unsatisfactory and I have been badly mislead. I see from reading other reviews that I’m not alone. Extremely disappointing.

Possibly the worst website I have ever seen. Almost impossible to navigate as it keeps emptying your basket and then unpredictably putting extra purchases in. When I finally made a correct order, I found that I had been double charged and now am attempting to get my money back. Utterly dreadful!!!

Beware the misleading free returns policy

I returned an item using one of the supposedly free returns service they provided. However they charged me £10 as apparently only one of the returns services (Royal Mail) was free, the other having a fee of £10 which they pass on to unsuspecting customers. The fee was not mentioned in any of paperwork that came with my order. when I complained and asked for a refund which they refused.
Charging customers so much to return an item when advertising free returns is both outrageous and misleading.
I will never order from them or recommend them as I was treated unfairly and unsympathetically by them.

I agree with the previous reviewer that …

I agree with the previous reviewer that colors can be different than expected-- red arrives as orange -- and that the exchange rules can lack common sense and courtesy. However, I love this company for many reasons. 1) it creates comfortable arty pocketed clothes for women who have no interest in fleeting fashion trends. 2) Inspiration for design comes from global cultures. 3) clothes are sized for real people up to XXL with generous fit at hips. 4) classic and cheerful, practical tunics, dresses, what real women want -/gorgeous fabrics in eco cotton, linen, lyocell. The models are all shapes, sizes, colors, and personalities-- from dignified to playful. Diversity-- the same style often comes in print or plain. The same fabric often comes in blouse, dress, pants, scarf-- to fit your need or price range. The biggest problem is the website which comes up in different formats-- sometimes with a detailed drawing showing all features of the garment-- location of buttons, trim, tucks. But then it can't be found again. Sometimes credit cards are turned down because they are processed through Sweden. Often you have to start your order over because something goes wrong online. Frustrating to repeat and repeat. But worth it to have something special. It is difficult to access European clothes in the USA. Many items are made in India, shoes in Portugal! Gudrun Sjoden is a real person who has been in this business all her life. She supports women's projects with fundraisers and sends a gift card at year end for people who spend over $500 or $1000. One bad customer rep dies not make an international company. Yes, they need to revise their policies to address when they make an error!!!! Exceptions and accommodations must be made to fit the circumstances, such as when you order two great sale items and are sent something else you don't want at regular price , thus lose the bargains which are by then sold out, and you have to make many phone calls and returned the wrong item. And then told you have to have a minimum order of $100 for free shipping from the New York store which is the only place that has what you want to replace their mistake! Fortunately, it all turned out well, but was a struggle of explanations until logic prevailed over the rule book which forgot to include a section on appeasing company errors. Almost all my clothes come from them-- I've collected over the years and most things go together.
