We have been a part of the Arbor Spring…

We have been a part of the Arbor Spring Guidepost for over a year now and we truly appreciate how they care for and guide our daughter. She is becoming an independent thinker and helper while also having fun in music and dance and soccer. Kayla and Christine have been wonderful to work with, especially concerning the safety of our daughter who has multiple food allergies. We look forward to continuing our preschool education with Guidepost.

I want to express my deepest gratitude…

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Montessori kindergarten team for the beautiful work they do every single day. From the very first moment, we felt a warm, respectful, and loving environment. My child has grown not only in skills, but also in independence, confidence, and joy.

The guides and assistants create a space where every child is seen, heard, and supported at their own pace. Communication has always been clear and thoughtful, and it’s evident how much dedication goes into preparing the environment and every activity.

We are truly thankful for the patience, care, and observation they have shown toward our child. Seeing him walk into the classroom with happiness, explore with curiosity, and come home proud of his accomplishments reassures us that we chose the best place for him.

I wholeheartedly recommend this Montessori program. It is a beautiful environment where children can naturally flourish.

I can’t recommend the Bridgewater…

I can’t recommend the Bridgewater location enough. We have both our kids enrolled in the infant Nido and children’s house class- we have had a fantastic experience in the past year since we enrolled. Our kids have grown in confidence and independence, the guides genuinely love the kids and the parent community is friendly and diverse. The center celebrates all seasons, all faiths, they are quick to communicate and respond to concerns, very proactive. We moved from a traditional school to Montessori and the difference is stark. We are busy professionals and it’s great to feel your kids are safe in a nurturing environment while working. Thank you to Jennifer, dominique and the team.

GP Wicker Park is wonderful!

Our daughter joined the Toddler program in January just after she turned 2. She recently just moved to Children's house and we are beyond proud of what she has accomplished during her time at GP Wicker Park; her confidence, courage and independence have really blossomed.

We couldn't be more grateful for the caring safe space the guides and admin have created at Wicker Park and are looking forward to seeing what our daughter accomplishes this next year!

Guidepost isn't what it used to be.

We started with guidepost in 2022 with our child in the Nido classroom. We were very happy for quite a while, but unfortunately we watched the company completely implode. They were hemmoraging staff, including many head of school turnovers, abruptly closing locations, and the new hires didn't always work out well. Our sons first Nido and Toddler guides were magical, but as things changed he found himself in a toxic children's house environment where he started to develop some behavioral issues. The school handled this extremely poorly, and were constantly sending home ouchie reports for incidents that no adult even observed or could explain. When I came to observe I could see that our son was constantly being restricted and controlled by the older kids, causing him to hit. We changed his classroom but it was too late, the culture was set, and his attitude was locked in. He is a sweet little boy, and this did not need to happen. We were already planning on following the lead of dozens of other families who left this school for somewhere better, but when we abruptly got a call on a Friday saying he was being dis-enrolled effective immediately we were really caught off guard. We had many, many, ouchie reports coming home where our child had bonked another friend, but never any kind of formal escalation or notice that something like this might happen. At this point it's been 5 weeks and Guidepost is still processing our refunded tuition. They kicked out kid out of school effective immediately but have not returned the many thousands of dollars intuition we prepaid. It's inexcusable. Montessori is great, don't get me wrong, and we have seen a lot of benefits from our sons time here. That said, we absolutely would recommend you go somewhere else and avoid a company that has already declared bankruptcy once and is spiraling the drain. Google Guidepost bankruptcy and you'll see that they pursued a fast growth strategy that absolutely did not work out. They have restructured and have no real plan or proven strategy.

Edit: after the below reply, which sounds nice, offers support, but provides no contact information, Trustpilot invited me to edit my review. So here goes: for anyone who understands bankruptcy and restructuring, the idea that they are a "new company" in any meaningful sense is laughable. Leadership at the local level is unchanged except to the extent that the "floating head of school" from our time has moved on. If you want to read some of the details about what really happened Forbes did a great article on this.

You'll see that everyone moved from Higher Ground to Guidepost Global in May, and then chapter 11 happens in June. One of the things that happened, just to emphasize how not-new leadership is, is that a dude named Steven Xu who was originally responsible for HGE/Guidepost in China. Because of a change to Chinese law affecting companies owned by non-Chinese companies operating schools had to take all their schools into a company he called Cosmic Education. Fast forward to today, and Steven is the Global CEO of Guidepost Global with Cosmic having invested in the restructuring.

Aaaanyway, this company is what it is. No need to editorialize. Just Google some key terms like "guidepost bankruptcy reddit" or read the Forbes article.

Now, if you are like me, or like one of the 4 families from our old school that are in our friend group and STILL waiting for your refunds (they owe one of our friends $20k) and have been told that they normally operate with a 30 day refund timeline but are currently at 90 days... What you'll want to do is just get really loud like I did here.

About a week after writing this review and a few days after their reply we got an email saying the leadership was making an exception and the check was in the mail the next day. Nobody else has been so lucky.

Justin, thank you for taking the time to share this. I am genuinely sorry that your family went through such a difficult experience. No parent should feel blindsided, and it is clear from what you described that this period was stressful and disappointing.

I do want to offer a bit of clarity on a few points so readers have an accurate picture of what is happening today.

First, Guidepost Montessori is now operated by a new ownership and leadership structure. The company that previously filed for Chapter 11 no longer exists. It was formally dissolved in 2024, and the schools now operate under a completely separate entity with diversified investors and new leadership. This shift was designed to stabilize the network, strengthen program quality, and ensure that issues like high staff turnover or abrupt school closures do not repeat.

Second, what you described around communication and follow through is not the level of care we expect. Refunds should not take weeks without updates, and families should always receive clear, timely escalation if behavioral concerns are developing. When something feels sudden for a parent, we see that as a failure in communication. I am sorry that this was your experience.

Finally, your son deserved a consistent, supportive environment. It is painful to hear that he did not get that. While I cannot speak to the specifics of the classroom you referenced, I can confirm that Children’s House culture, supervision, and safety practices have been a major focus area for us this year with new training, new leadership oversight, and new quality standards.

If you are open to it, I would like to look into your refund directly so that you are not waiting any longer and ensure it is resolved.

Thank you again for the feedback. It helps us improve, and I truly wish your family the very best moving forward.

An Exceptional Montessori Experience

Our family has been a part of Guidepost Montessori for three years now, and we truly couldn’t be happier. Our boys have grown through the Nido, Toddler, and Children’s House programs, and we’ve been consistently impressed every step of the way.

The guides are exceptional—warm, intentional, and deeply invested in each child’s development. They create such a nurturing, engaging environment where our boys have not only thrived academically, but also socially and emotionally. It has been incredible to watch their independence, confidence, and curiosity blossom.

The school administrators are equally wonderful. They are accessible, responsive, and clearly passionate about creating a strong community for both the children and their families. Communication has always been thoughtful and proactive, and we’ve felt supported and valued from day one.

Guidepost has truly been a gift to our boys and to our family. We feel so grateful to be part of this community and would wholeheartedly recommend the school to anyone looking for an exceptional Montessori education.

Fantastic Guidepost Montessori

We started our son in the Nido classroom at 8 months and Ms Yvette and her team took such great care of him. He absolutely loves to say hi to Ms Shufang and Ms Lily and all his Nido teachers- they helped him reach certain milestones such as crawling, standing, and fine motor skills. Our son is now in the Mandarin toddler class and loves Ms Nana and Ms Phoebe as well as his classmates. He says their names all the time! He has worked on so many skills in his class and we are so appreciative!

Simply wonderful- a safe space for kids!

Our daughter now almost 4 has been going to Guidepost Montessori, Kendall park for almost 2 years. The Staff and teachers are simply wonderful, very caring and have build a very space for kids and parents. The school responds to requests and concerns very quickly and constantly finds ways to evolve and get better. The school allows the kids to grow on their own pace without pressure. Teachers also provide constant support and feedback to help the kids and parents. There are several activities outside regular work cycles that help the toddlers develop personality and learn new things. Highly recommended for parents who are looking for a responsible, caring and close knit community.

Happy twins on their third year at Guidepost Montessori Worthington

Our twins are on their third year at Guidepost and we can't be anymore happier. Compared to similar aged kids, I've noticed that our kids are more social, critical in thinking, independent, and confident. I'm extremely happy as a parent and highly recommend Guidepost Montessori Worthington school to other parents in the area. They also offer extracurriculars during school hours, which is amazing because I get to spend more time with our kids while they get to diverse experiences in Karate, Piano, and other programs.

We have had a wonderful experience at…

We have had a wonderful experience at the school, and I am especially grateful for the outstanding Spanish Immersion program. The environment is warm, welcoming, and supportive, and my son has truly thrived here.

Miss Gloria, who teaches the Spanish Immersion class, has been an exceptional teacher for my son. At the same time, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Miss Gloria, who has been an exceptional teacher. Under her guidance, my son has made tremendous progress—in language, behavior, and confidence. She is patient, kind, and deeply understanding, and I am very grateful for her dedication.

Her gentle approach, professionalism, and genuine care for her students shine through every day. My son looks forward to school because of her, and the growth we have seen in him is remarkable—especially in his Spanish skills and overall communication.

While the school provides a strong educational foundation, I believe the management could benefit from more consistency and clearer communication with parents. Improving in these areas would make an already good school even better.

Overall, I highly recommend both the school and Miss Gloria’s Spanish Immersion class to any family seeking a nurturing environment and a teacher who truly goes above and beyond.
