Rude HR - Mae Tolosa
I’d like to share my recent experience applying at Gushwork.ai. To be clear, this feedback is not about the company as a whole, but specifically about the individual leading the hiring process. However, first impressions matter—and this experience raised concerns about the kind of culture that may be represented.
Unfortunately, my interaction with Mae Tolosa left a negative impression due to the following:
* Rude and dismissive tone throughout the interview
* Lack of attentiveness—frequently asked questions I had already answered, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times
* Monotone delivery that felt scripted, with little to no genuine engagement
* Showed little interest in the conversation or in understanding my background
* Kept her camera off the entire time while requiring me to keep mine on, which felt unprofessional and one-sided
While I understand that one person does not define an entire organization, this initial experience as an applicant was disappointing and concerning.
I’m sharing this in the hope that it helps improve the hiring experience moving forward. Candidates deserve a respectful, engaging, and professional process. I genuinely hope Gushwork.ai considers refining their interview approach and placing individuals in these roles who better represent the company’s values and create a more positive candidate experience.
