Poor Customer Service
The first time I visited this shop I was pleased with the service recieved, my mistake came when I changed my mind about the outfit I had chosen for my daughters wedding. Susan was very helpful on my first visit but being honest I allowed myself to buy something I wasn't 100% sure about - this is my fault entirely and I understand that. I am not unfair and would never normally feel compelled to write bad review about someones business unless I felt it was really justified. I called and spoke with the manager and asked if I could return and exchange the dress and hat I had purchased, reluctantly it was agreed. The dress had not been taken out of the bag or tried on again.
When myself and my daughter returned to the shop I was met with an attitude which made us feel hugely uncomfortable and was told that 'Susan was devastated I had changed my mind and had taken it personally' at which my daughter nervously laughed and then in a raised voice from Sarah was told 'it's not funny'. I explained that I had simply changed my mind and I wasn't complaining about the service I had recieved BUT at this point I wasn't happy with being spoken to in this manner. They do not offer refunds so I had no choice but to choose something else here. The dress and hat I settled on were a considerable amount cheaper ( approx £250 I believe although the tags were quickly removed and it could have been more ) but no money was offered in return I was just given a pair of tights and a bracelet.
I had to take the new dress to be altered which is lucky because when it was zipped up the whole zip fell apart, I called Hadleigh Hats and was told that they were happy to pay £40 for a new zip - only they weren't were they?? They were just returning a small portion of the money they had kept previously so really I was paying for it.
The whole thing left a bad taste so I decided not to bother contacting them again, this was my daughters wedding and they were just souring it for me being honest. I never heard frrom them again so I assume they are happy with the fact they got to kep my money. I would not recommend this shop at all. We planned a whole wedding and not one other business made us feel anything other than valued and looked after.
