Complaints Handling

Halifax recently made an error with an account payment. Whilst that was frustrating I want to compliment them on their handling of the ensuing complaint. It was very effectively handled, thoroughly investigated and the error rectified. I accept that errors happen but the better judge of a company for me is how you address those errors when they occur. In that respect, Halifax were excellent

Goodbye

Banked with them for more than 40 Years, Never significantly overdrawn. Never needed a loan other than my mortgage, until recently, applied, turned down, spoke to a competitor, received the loan within a week on better terms. Time to find another bank.

I have been with Halifax for many years…

I have been with Halifax for many years but their service recently has been very poor. Telephone systems using ai are very poor and much slower than speaking to a person. When you do get to deal with a person the service is variable. I recently had a fraud on my account which the bank were very poor at dealing with insisting on dealing with the matter as a dispute. It isn’t a dispute Halifax just a straight forward crime that I am the victim of. It is little wonder there is such growth in online fraud when the banks fail to even categorise the matter appropriately. Halifax failed to offer even the most basic advice to protect my account moving forward leaving me to insist that my card be cancelled and even when visiting the Blackpool branch I was essentially given the number for the fraud team and told to go home and ring them up. I’m left wondering just how safe my money actually is with a bank who for a long time have seemed detached from good customer service and seem to have a total inability to communicate between different bits of their own organisation.

Unduly long wait times

Terribly long waiting time to talk to them - their recorded message says 'more than twenty minutes'. This is simply not good enough. I think it is time to change banks.

SHAME ON THEM FOR INCORRECT INFORMATION AND LETTING THERE CUSTOMER PAY THE PRICE. LITERALLY!!!!

This bank is usually good and fair, BUT,,, i called them about an online payment and the woman said i was in the date period limit to make a claim. Moving forward - I then conversated with this member of staff and told her so much about my issue and answered all her questions. Then a few days later i get an email to tell me that i am not within the time period to make a claim and that they will be taking my £40 back from my bank. How is this allowed when i was given incorrect information??
This isn't OK because the call handler gave me false information, yet i have to pay the price for that. ' no pun intended!!' So wrong... This is worrying if the staff do not know the rules!!!!!

Excellent service…

Today at 11am I went into the Touchwood branch of Halifax and wanted to sort my account out. Indy a lovely patient lady who went above and beyond the call of duty explained me what my options were and i made decisions accordingly. She defenately deserves recognition. I cannot put details for obvious reasons, but feel free to contact via email.

Why do you run such a shambolic…

Biggest problem is not the actual issue....its the fact that none of your conduits lead anywhere near to even reviewing it let alone acknowledging the issue, and I've done ALL of them from Chat to telephony, as well as your phone app but at no point did anything lead anywhere after 2 hours of messing about. Why do you run such a shambolic organisation? You pack up at 7pm (I have FCA timestamped recordings made to you - You have lost my last payment made in good time...my bank has given all the receipt codes so you DID get it well before due date but you keep messaging to tell me my payment is overdue when I cannot get in touch to tell you to look for it

The bank that makes life easy for you 

I’ve been with this bank since roundabout the beginning of the millennium and always found them very helpful when I’ve needed any help that’s important to me because I have cerebral palsy. I joined the online banking and they could not have made it any easier. A newborn baby could operate their app with no problems. And they’re always updating and making it even more better and nothing can leave your bank account or go into your bank account without you knowing because they send notifications to your phone or your watch
