Unfair treatment to customer

We booked a room at Halswell lodge at the 7th of Feb in Wellington, a day before the Ferry crossover to Picton. Booking was via Booking.com, and when selecting the hotel I clearly should have selected this date again. Booking during travel on my mobile phone, human error, can happen, I got confirmation for 7th of April! Bit of panic, but contacted both Booking.com, as the hotel within 5 minutes , by phone. Any hotel would have had understanding for the situation to give back the money transfered. The 7th of Feb was already booked now they said. But unbelievable, they refused giving back the money!! The know we are not in Wellington in April so they now can double charge the room. Basically just stealing money from their customers. You could better book an alternative hotel with a normal human approach.
