Be very wary

I received a spam email from them saying there was "an unclaimed Business Rates credit note against your business premises", and I should contact them to claim back thousands of pounds. The business they wrote to has no premises.
Clearly a scam. Be very wary of these people.

AVOID!

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!
I would avoid at all costs!
They come to site do a survey are very convincing, they amend the contract so you pay an amount (about 4k) to say if unsuccessful will refund you. They file the claim for a completely different reason than agreed, the claim fails, they appeal it (takes about 6 months) the claim is rejected again, they then bill you for another claim that they have not done. You ask for the money back as per the contract, they then become aggressive trying to charge you for cancelling a contract. We managed to file a CCJ they appealled it twice, it was rejected twice they lied about not receiving docs etc but we had proof in writing, finally received refund after sending baliffs in!

Scummy company

Scummy company. Avoid at all costs. They rely on business to business not having a cooling off period. They lie you to you, wait for you to sign on the line and then ask for money.

They also spam all the UK businesses they can find until they hook a fish.

Received spam based on incorrect information

Received an unsolicited email purporting to be from this business saying that there is "unclaimed Business Rates credit note against your business premises" which must be claimed by the end of the month.
Two problems
- My company ceased active trading over 10 years ago
- It has never owned business premises.
So either this business is spamming based on incorrect information or someone else is using their ID for some sort of scam.
Looking at other reviews I am not the only person receiving unsolicited mail purporting to be from this organisation.

Received an email from them

Received a SPAM email from them telling us there was a Property Tax Overpayment - we don't pay property tax, never have!

So by definition a complete bogus scam.

How can we rate as zero stars (or even negative)?

DO NOT USE HAMPTON-LOVETT - WASTE OF MONEY

Absolutely awful - essentially legal con artists - do not trust them. We took them on to improve our rating, it was marginally changed by the local council - they had no influence over the change as it was made before they submitted their review and that didn't change anything when I pointed that out they were useless, didn't bother to do anything further just chased for payment - you are far better off submitting your own request for a review to your local council - DO NOT USE Hampton-Lovett.

Bunch of Spamming Chancers

I run a few online businesses. None of them have any physical presence in the UK, yet each of these businesses has had Hampton Lovett repeatedly contact them saying there is an unclaimed business rates credit against their property. There are no properties associated with any of these businesses.
Obviously a bunch of chancers spamming the email addresses of every business with a .uk website, hoping to hook a rube.
Good businesses get word of mouth referrals and don't need to rely on such shady business practices to get customers.

Unsolicited spamming of my business

Unsolicited spamming with email purporting to know about an (evidently untrue) "unclaimed Business Rates credit note against your property." Why do they bother, or are some business people that stupid? Reported to ICO.

Beware of this company sent me this…

Beware of this company sent me this automatic email. I think its bot and possibly scammers. I don't have a business property.

Hi

My name is Sophie I am writing you to as we have noticed that there is an unclaimed Business Rates credit note against your property.

There may be a reason for this, but a few simple questions can see if you qualify.

• Have you had an extension?
• Has your property had a refurb?
• Have you been in the property for less than a year?

If the answers to the questions above are all no Lifework Bites needs to act now or lose the chance to claim back your savings to 2017 due to limited funding available.

This could result in thousands back into your business, claiming back from 2017 and keeping money in your cashflow up until 2029.

Hampton Lovett offers a free pre assessment and a free on-site property assessment as part of our 3-stage evidence-based process and a no case for reduction no fee basis in order to achieve the best results for our clients.

Business Rates are just another form of Tax you receive nothing for and with current inflation Business Rates are an overhead than can be reduced.

Spamming me with false information

Spamming me with false information. Claiming they have "noticed an unclaimed Business Rates credit note against your [my] property". I don't have business premises so of course there are no business rates.

When a company starts out with a lie, they obviously can't be trusted.

Complete and utter scam with harassing…

- Chris, why are you outrightly lying?! Total scam yet again. Your own team have acknowledged that the contract should be cancelled and that I formally requested that. Write whatever narrative you like but myself and 100s of others have made your business intentions clear.

Complete and utter scam with harassing team.

Requested HL cease contact several times yet still harassing.

*Be sure to also block the scam litigation guy at HL who will call asking you to delete your review. (0808 175 3435) - this lot just do not get the simple instructions to leave you alone when you decline their services.

*Be sure to block Luke 0203 98 8617 so you're not harassed when you decide to decline HL's services.*

Read the reviews - HL contacted us by email out of the blue by email and after calling to find out more, Claire visited to assess the property. Lots of promises etc and now being threatened with court action for not proceeding. No staff seem to know the actual fee and after reading reviews, we decided not to proceed, much to HL's disappointment. As others have said, if your claim with VOA is unsuccessful or not actually fulfilled by HL, you're stuck paying their fees forever.

Reply from Hampton Lovett Consultant Surveyors Ltd

Jacob, there is evidently a misunderstanding here. You have instructed us to carry out work on a Business to Business contract, which is not subject to a cooling off period. We have never received written confirmation of your intention to cancel the service — which is required for any contract whether B2B or C2C. The main difference is that B2B contracts do not have a cooling off period… in any event rather than following the normal process you have instead opted to leave defamatory comments about the company rather than attempt to resolve issues amicably.
If you would like to discuss this so we can resolve the matter you can reach me via chris@hampton-lovett.co.uk, as making inflamatory and untrue comments in the public domain doesn't help anybody. I've listened to the telephone calls and cancellation was not mentioned in them. There is an email in which you intimate you are not proceeding at this time. Later in that email trail you are asked if you wish to cancel and the response is an expletive. In any event, your file is cancelled.

Spam call by Michael

Was called by Michael saying a member of staff who had not worked for ourselves for 10 years had clicked on their website and filled in contact data for them to call at 4.34 pm. All complete lies.

When I advised this member of staff had not worked with ourselves he hung up straight away knowing he had been caught out on his lies.

Draw your own conclusions from the above.

We do not deal with companies or individuals that lie and recommend others do not also. You have been warned.

Spammers

Reading through the TrustPilot reviews, it's very evident that all the 5 * reviews are fake - they've been written by people who've only ever written one review and always refer to them as "Hampton Lovett Consultant". In any event, I'm here because they're spammers and they've just spammed my email. I've reported them to the ICO.

What an appalling company

What an appalling company. We signed up with them in december 2020. The deadline for submission was 18 November 2022 which the Company MISSED!
Submission was finally made on 2 December 2022!
I have had to chase continually for any form of update as to progress.
The final outcome from the VOA is zero. No change.
I understand that it is up to the VOA but the "Consultant" who visited us at the start gave us all sorts of details as to what could be challenged. The whole of their challenge was based on a "reduction in the current base rate"
Hardly rocket science and very easily bounced as there was very little evidence to support this challenge.
All in all a thoroughly bad experience. Very good sales people but no other substance to the firm.
