I just wanted to praise Hamsey’s for their help with an issue I raised this week on behalf of my Nan (who’s 96) - it is just so heartwarming to deal with a local, independent company who put their customers first… thank you to Russell at Wallington for making my Nan smile again. Customer service & compassion really does make all the difference ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently purchased a new electric reclining bed from Hamseys in Wallington, as I have a disability and I needed a new bed and mattress.

I was advised that a medium firm mattress would be suitable for myself!

I waited nearly three weeks for my new bed and mattress to be delivered and everything went well.

Before I slept on my new bed, I had purchased a mattress protector. Unfortunately, my first night sleeping on the mattress, was so uncomfortable, as it wasn't firm enough and was exacerbating my body pain.

I contacted Russell at Hamseys and explained my circumstances and he mentioned that the manufacturer, wouldn't accept a mattress that had been used. I explained that I needed a firmer mattress and what I had been sold, didn't comply with the Consumer's Act 2015.

I decided to put everything in writing and sent the most courteous email to Hamseys and mentioned that I had been a loyal customer for many years and that I always like to support a family business.

I had a phone call from Russell the next dat and he was so polite and friendly and he was very keen to rectify the situation. He had very kindly decided to replace my mattress with a firmer one and with no added cost to myself, which was very generous of him.

I had my new mattress delivered on Wednesday the 11th February 2026. I am very happy to say, the mattress was absolutely perfect for my needs.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Russell, for the way that he resolved the situation in such a professional and amicable manner and I would also like to extend my gratitude to Scott and one of his colleagues, who delivered my new mattress.



I required a reasonably priced mattress for a spare bedroom. After looking online at various retailers offerings I was still undecided as the reviews were often off-putting on the quality and comfort.
A Hamseys leaflet dropped through my letterbox depicting a Hamseys Aloe Vera mattress. I decided to visit my local store based in Crawley where I was greeted by the salesperson. I explained what I wanted and he directed me to the one on display. After a quick test I purchased the mattress, and he brought the new mattress to my car.
He was polite, friendly and there was no pressure on a purchase. A very easy transaction and I had visited, purchased and unwrapped my new mattress all within the hour.

The whole experience was easy and pleasant. Our store visit was quickly resolved and we were directed to exactly the bed and mattress we needed and other elements such as headboard and mattress protector was also addressed.
Delivery was efficient: notification of delivery was efficient and on time. The installation team were pleasant and efficient and did a great job. They left a tidy and ready to use bed. Many thanks

We recently bought a self-assembly bed from Hamseys (Wallington branch) which, unfortunately, had a missing part. The staff in the store contacted the bed manufacturer for us and, after some effort, managed to get the manufacturer to send us what we hoped would be the correct part. Again, though, the part they sent was still not the right one. Hamseys local fitter, Scott, then visited us, understood what part we needed and came back within a couple of days with it. Because of the issues we had experienced, Scott very kindly (and very quickly) finished putting together the bed for us from the point I had reached (not very far!) Thank you Scott, and the staff in the store; great customer service.

Horrible quality and terrible customer service. The bed I bought for £500 (apparently it was £800 originally) tore all at the seams around the handle . I thought I was within my warranty period, as a bed that costs £800 should be very well made, so I called to get it replaced. Scott told me that they no longer had the mattress but I could pay for a cozy mattress (£160) , “their cost” They refused to honour any warranty and replace it and told me basically tough. Truly a company that doesn’t care that their products are substandard.

As you can see they responded with amazing regard for customer service

The thing is
If the bed broke last year as you say then it was in the warranty period and I want a new one.

You’re really quite a frightening example of how wrong you can go by shopping small these days. You’re leatherhead store closing should have been a sign.
So I’m going with Nectar! Nectar is a Solid company with the amazing beds. Excellent customer service, warranty andcheaper than you crooks.

*And again they they try to shame me for not buying anything else from their awful business. Nearly 2 years for £500 is ridiculous. If they were a decent company they would have been horrified that Hamseys shoddy beds had disappointed yet again.
Nectar or any of their competitors are guaranteed better beds than ones you get from these dinosaurs. Hamseys beds only last a year and cost 6 times what they pay for them. Hopefully they won’t be around too much longer ripping people off.
I’m thinking I could go to the media with this back and forth review nonsense so others in Surrey don’t make the same mistake I did engaging with these morons.
I find it hilarious that this sad little man can’t accept that he sold another crappy product and just wants to shame and blame instead of fix the problem.
Any further comments from them will show just how fragile their egos are 😂😂🤣🤣

Went into Hamseys looking for a replacement mattress. Excellent customer service and honest information. No pushy sales pitch. Brought a mattress and it was delivered the same night, excellent customer service.

Our daughter recommended Hamseys to us when we wanted to replace a very old mattress on our pine-frame bedstead. She took us to Hamseys in Wallington where the staff were very patient and helpful as we tried various types until we settled on a suitable compromise between the depth of the mattress and comfort. The order was fulfilled quite quickly, delivery was on time, the new mattress was taken up and put on the bedstead and all packaging and the old mattress taken away. The new mattress is proving to be very comfortable, but we will have to seek our children's help turning it periodically as it is heavier than our old one and we're getting on a bit!

Bought a new bed and mattress from Wallington store. Very attentive salesman and a quick promised delivery time. Sadly the delivery didn’t happened on the day it was promised but the problem was sorted out. Second scheduled delivery was faultless. The guys contacted us and told us when to expect them. They both worked hard on a really warm day and did a brilliant job. Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Really pleased with the bed and mattress.

Very good experience bed came on time the men called me half an hour before they came constructed the bed took my old bed away and it was all done very very neatly. Very pleased with the service and the product, Thank you Hamseys.

Andy delivered great customer service he was so helpful

From start to finish the service was great. Andy the sales man was very helpful and knowledgeable, Left us to try the beds and but was on hand when needed to answer queries.
Our delivery driver Dawid rang to confirm delivery time as promised. He again was very friendly and courteous. He explained everything about the beds to us and put the heavy king size mattress on the bed for us, and the 2 singles in position in the other bedroom ( rather than just leaving them haphazardly) He managed to delivery everything by himself which was very impressive!
Hamsey’s should be very proud of these 2 members of staff!

Fantastic sales job done by Russell gave my daughter a fantastic deal very knowledgeable told us he normally worked in the Wellington branch but he was in the beckenham branch today.

Mike in the Leatherhead store was so helpful and friendly when buying 2 beds recently. Really knowledgable, great customer service and went out of his way for me. Made it all very simple indeed. Thank you.

This is the WORST company ever. Memory foam mattress sagged into a boat within 30days and the support collapsed. Refused to refund or replace. They are dismissive and do not care about the Consumer Rights Act. Avoid this company. The reply by the shop to this review is incorrect I have been trying for many weeks to receive a refund but will now have to go to court as they have still refused to deal with the issue.

We received great advice from a friendly salesman at the Wallington branch. Delivery was prompt and the delivery men helpful and efficient. A first class service all round.

We had great guidance on buying a mattress from Mike at the Leatherhead branch yesterday. I have 2 prosthetic hips and "nuts and bolts" in my lower back, and Mike really understood my needs.

I visited the Beckham branch with a client who purchased a double bed with bed frame. The service we received was excellent and the price was amazing. I would definitely recommend.

I have always found the Beckenham Store extremely helpful and good value. We bought a top quality mattress which has proved to have been worth the money and is great for my back. My son bought a beautiful King size grey velvet divan with mattress which was fantastic value and super comfortable. You feel as if you get good honest advice. Delivery reliable and will use again in the future. Staying local is really important!
