Such a shame this company turned out to be a scam. I was really excited to use them as they DO have the best prices (I should have known that was a red flag). I saw the bad reviews but thought I'd try a small order and see how it went before making an extremely large (almost $1000) order. THANK GOD I DID.
I never received an email confirming my order. I emailed support making sure it went through. They never replied, but a different person emailed me saying since my Shipping and Billing were different (po box) I would need to pay another way... by Zelle?! What business asks for a zelle.
I told them I could only pay via credit card and if they couldn't process my card to go ahead and cancel it. 23 hours go by and I receive no response. So I email again asking if they cancelled or were shipping. I get an immediate automated cancellation email. OK great. Then the "customer service rep" replies to my email that "only one email was needed." The audacity.
Anyways it all worked out in the end. Found the items for .63 cents more at another site and placed my order. Within an hour of placing the order the rep called me to tell me that because of the amount I was buying I qualified for a bulk discount and received tracking.
Stay away from this company.

They sent me a knife with stains on the blade that were so bad I could not clean it off. They begrudgingly agreed to exchange it, but they made ME pay for the return shipping on a knife they never checked before they sent. I picked out a knife for the exchange which clearly stated 8 were currently in stock. I even confirmed this with the "staff" and they wrote me back that it was in stock. Here we are, 3 weeks later and I've yet to receive that "in stock" item. I wrote to cancel the order and was told it was special order and it cannot be cancelled. Special order in stock items are a real thing now....I guess...right? So then I try to call to talk to a manager and after getting a voicemail 5 times that was always too full to leave a message, I finally get a call back. Not a manager to apologize and make it right, no a manger to tell me that the original knife I sent back that was stained "wasn't that bad and I should have put a little effort into cleaning off the blade next time before wasting their time and sending it back". So now even after all that I was sent another email....but the person I originally spoke with and was told my knife would ship that day. That was 5 days ago now and the tracking number still says "preshipment label created" but no pickup received by the USPS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS!

I was skeptical at first; the optics of the site, the improbably low price on a discontinued high-end item that was sold out nationwide. It took exactly 2 weeks from time of order to receive my purchase (as stated in the fine print, which I didn’t read) but the product was exactly as described & at approximately 30% off retail. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase & I highly recommend this retailer.

I DO NOT recommend Hand-Tools.com. I placed an order almost two weeks ago. I did not get an email confirmation or receipt until today, and I have not received my order. I had to send them two emails, one phone call and register a complaint with PayPal. Finally, I received an email receipt with a tracking number, but it has not been sent. If you call customer service, it immediately goes to voicemail.

Hard to find item, called and customer service was excellent (Lisa) they called me back to verify item was in stock for me and I received it a few days later. Good price and friendly help. Will purchase from them again.
Amateur hour
I placed an order with this company some time in early December and received no order confirmation or email of any kind. A week or so later, having received no notice of my order or of shipping, I emailed the company to request a cancellation. I was informed by a representative (who curtly insisted that they HAD sent me an order confirmation) that it was too late to cancel the order as "it has already shipped." Two or three days later I received an email stating that the shipping label had only just been created and the order was about to be shipped out – the rep had apparently simply lied about the order being shipped.
I contacted them again and voiced my dissatisfaction with this, as they could have (and should have) canceled my order as it had not even shipped as the representative had falsely claimed. The same representative then (rudely and dismissively, I might add) gave me some vague spiel about how they can't cancel orders due to their shipping policies. She even flatly stated that it takes up to 11 days(!) for them to ship out orders. On what planet is this an acceptable level of service?
It's clear that this company is a drop-shipping operation – they do not keep much of their inventory on hand and thus order/ship it from elsewhere. This results in long shipping times, miscommunication, and poor service in general, as was displayed here. The rude customer service rep also informed me that if I wished to make a return, they have a 20% restocking fee. Not only is this wildly excessive, but I can tell you (having run an online business for years myself) that "restocking fees" are nonsense. It costs nothing to accept returns – it's a tactic to pressure customers into NOT making returns. "Restocking fees" are a shady practice you typically see with fly-by-night ebay sellers, not professional businesses.
TL;DR: Four strikes with this company: 1) It took almost two weeks for my initial order to even ship out (with no order confirmation email). 2) Despite this, they curtly refused to cancel my order days before it shipped. 3) Rude and dismissive customer service. 4) Extortive 20% "restocking fee." Take your money to a professional business who actually values your custom, there are plenty out there. No clue how this amateur hour company has so many positive reviews – their service is abysmal on every level, all the way down. Avoid.

Where's the engraving?!

with a magnifying lens. Nothing like what they have on video on their homepage. Communication was great until I noted the problem. I've sent 3 mails over the past 6 days about my situation but no answer. The picture I'm attaching shows what seems to be the engraving under magnification. I know its too late but I read the fine print on the home page. "Not responsible for engraving" What can I say... At least I got the axe? The engraving was so small that I could possibly pretend its not there? Wish I could at least get my engraving money back...
Good customer service
I ordered a knife from HT, but they sent the wrong one, because of a nearly identical product #. Honest mistake. Sent an email to customer service and they responded within the 24hr time frame. They sent me a return label and was very pleasant about the mistake. Two weeks later my knife arrived. Overall, it was not a bad experience.

the product was said to in stock when it wasnt. when i finnaly was able to get ahold of these people they gave many excuses to why it wasnt in stock and the site said it was. i was even told they dont carry this specialty item (esee junglas) if that is the case it shouldnt say in stock on there site and they were consistantly wrong about were it was and wen it would ship. it finally shiped yesterday after two weeks of stressing and trying to get ahold of the company. the knife not being there and them in no rush to get me my product but imediatly withdrawing money from my account is one thing but not why i would strongly urge you to shop elsewhere. the reason is with all emails phone calls i was only able to get ahold of them twice in this time and they misinformed me at those times telling me my package would ship today wen it wasnt even close. on top of that not one of my emails was responded to even tho they say they willl respond within 24 hours. so extremely lazy and slow with the no customer service this is why i wont be shopping with these people anymore and i hear they have six different websites so be careful out there
Good selection of great knives
I have placed 3 orders with Hand Tools in the last three weeks. 2 have arrived and the third is being processed. This company's only flaw (and it's minor) is that it's sometimes a little slow to ship the item out. (Just be patient, it will come) However, the great selection and competitive prices far outweigh that one issue and I will definitely use them again. Don Maulden, Buena Vista, GA

I messes up my order..They fixed it..Fast E-Mail response and great communication. They are a little slow in mailing but no problem getting your stuff..Seems to be a Great company. I will order again and don't expect any problems at all. Fantastic engraving on knifes I have ordered. They look great..I can;t brag enough on there commutation plus they have a phone that actually works, and someone actually picks up.
