My review is about Hanover but also insurance as a whole. I'm trying to figure out why...if I Payment every month without fail and then when I do have to file a claim (for whatever), why do I have to pay a deductible as well for my share of the cost? Also, this depreciation value included. Why file if you won't pay for my claim? You guys look like the winner and we are left without a fair settlement.

great experience with Hanover auto
No hassles or tricks or any problems with Hanover at all. Car was unfortunately declared a total loss but the agents were very professional and even helpful throughout the process. It was a tough situation obviously but ultimately Hanover made it as easy as I imagine is possible, definitely would recommend.
not at fault accident
So i was hit by a driver insured by them on Aug28th 2024, he didn't report the accident so my insurance told me to report it to them after they deemed the other driver at fault. so i called and started the claim which made their system reach out to the medical currier company that hit me. so there were 2 claim numbers which made the system unable to find it. insult to injury they said the accident took place in Michigan which is a no fault state so they said sorry we wont fix your car, the accident took place in Colorado so i was kinda taken aback due to it appearing they were just trying to duck the pay out. once i proved location and the dash came proved it was their driver. i got a rental 34 days after the accident only because i kept calling back. when they finally started giving me pay out numbers i noticed they didnt give me "Loss of Use" due to them not getting me a rental until 34days later they argued with me and canceled the titling sign over/ payout due to me inquiring about loss of use and why its not apart of the settlement her name was Darlene (508)855-5600 every time i call back i get the telephone run around and then my call gets dropped. iv reported them to the Department of Regulatory Agencies in Colorado, as well as the Department of Insurance in MA. because the lack of empathy and professionalism is insane. id highly suggest avoiding them at all cost.
Extremely Helpful!
We found service reps to be very responsive to our claim and calls and extremely supportive. The appraisal was completed promptly and the appraiser was friendly and responsive to questions and timeliness concerns raised. He provided an accurate explanation of body repairs needed. We were both appreciative and thankful for the service we received.

So far, the service regarding my auto accident has been excellent. The process is complicated and has many parts. The adjusters have been very helpful in helping me understand the process and steps I need to take. I will have a more comprehensive review after all is settled.

Would Not Recommend
I would not recommend this company to anyone. I didn't want them to be our carrier initially due to their bad online reviews; however, our broker convinced me that they are one of the better companies. They are not.
We were with them around a month when we were notified they were canceling our homeowners insurance due to a feature of our house that should have been VERY apparent during the initial underwriting examination. This was frustrating enough as we had to scramble to find a new carrier.
Then shortly after, they sent us a letter with the amount of our cancellation refund. When we received the check it was almost $100 less than the letter stated. They said they made a square footage adjustment during our home inspection (the same inspection where they decided to cancel our policy) so they charged us $100 for the additional square footage. It's very apparent all they care about is their bottom line when they cancel policies at the drop of a hat and cheat people out of their full refunds.
