We rented for 1 month. Honestly, the vans drove fine and were mechanically in good condition. We had 3 vans. The first van (590.000km) still had 3month old bore water in it's tank and we didn't even get blankets/duvets. There was also a constant signal of open doors. Then we got a new van swapped due to these issues. The second van (570.000km) leaked water in from all sides and right above the bed. I appreciate the fast service of the rental agency by sending us an upgraded van and swap it 6h south of Christchurch (in Queenstown) the next day. The service was really good, nothing to say about that, it's just the conditions of the vans. Our last upgraded van (automatic, 320.000km) had the engine control light on and also leaked, but not above the bed so it didn't bother much. There was mold in all 3 vans so don't expect anything fancy.

Easy pickup process and very helpful staff!! Would highly recommend for the future

We picked up the campervan with a full grey water tank and an almost empty fresh water tank. Even worse, we were only provided with one duvet for two people. The gas ran out within two days, and the right burner on the stove hardly worked. Additionally, the water did not drain properly, and at one point, the fire alarm beeped for an hour. It was also impossible to adjust the table correctly because the screw was not properly fixed. Overall, the campervan was not cleaned properly; for instance, the fridge was very dirty (also mold), and the curtains were stained and had an unpleasant smell.

A positive thing was that the customer service always responded quickly, and the vehicle itself was reliable for driving.

The answers after complaining ? Go to a garage during your holidays to do our job and maintain the car,

Stressful missing International Airport picking on arrival - needed to get $70 Uber, which put a damper on pickup experience.
Apart from that great vehicle & helpful staff to get us on our way quickly

Amazing experience. My 4years old son loved every second of it. Sleeping in the van was very fun and not too cold even though we went to Christchurch.

Happy Campers service team was very helpful, well organised and ready when we collected and returned the camper van.
We could not be happier, which made the trip around the South Island even more enjoyable.

i got an old van, which is ok, when it is in a proper state.
mine was dirty inside. even the cuttlery was dirty and the bedcover and pillow was really smelly…
during my rentaltime the rear lights fell out and the rain was dripping on my bed.
the ladues, working there were very friendly and after the rain we swap the car.
so the service was ok.

Campervan was in a very poor condition.

Excellent customer service and a fine fully capable vehicle that worked perfectly for 6 weeks. No problems and smooth sailing.

The van was sub standard and the cabinetry was unfinished and cold air came in
The double bed was very narrow
The front passenger tyre was almost bald and dangerous to drive in the sleet

Worked as a dream. The website was not easy to look on, but the team I was in contact with, was more than willing to help out. Everyone was so nice, and the camper was perfect

Fantastic vehicle to travel and camp in especially for over 50 year old travellers as they a bit more roomier. Unfortunately the 2 vehicles were not ready for pickup when we arrived and didn't have all the items that were standard. Apart from that they should probably check all mechanical parts are working speedo, auto sliding doors. Yes we would hire again tho. It is our second time
