Amazing experience
Amazing experience! Van was equipped with almost everything you need (except sponges and dishsoap). Pick up and drop off was so easy and hassle free. Airport shuttle is really helpful. 10/10.

Very affordable campers and a really upfront process. Once we arrived we were driving off within 15 minutes. Its very professional and convenient. Many options as well. We went with the lucky jackpot so as to have a self contained van for more options of camping.

Our Toyota was very old
Our Toyota was very old, it was reliable but the refridgerator was old and rusty, not very hygenic! The engine was reliable but everything else e.g. the window-rubbers, cushions, table, outside chairs, were desperately in need of renewing! Even the windscreenwipers were faulty! It had not been properly cleaned after the travellers before us (even cobwebs!!!)

The pick up process was smooth
The pick up process was smooth. We were well informed on how to use the van and expectations about what needed to be done when we returned the vehicle. The cost was very affordable. WE loved driving around NZ in our Happy Van. We were very HAPPY!

We had a bad experience with this company.
Many things in the camper didn’t work, and we had to change a tire, but the spare was in bad condition. They didn’t help us at all, and we had to go to a mechanic on our own (even though we had full insurance).

Good experience
All in all, we had a good experience with our Happy Kuga. We booked the "older" campervan, so we were prepared, that it wasn't brandnew. Still, our van safefly drove us 4 weeks over both islands. The camper was quite comfy for 2 people. When we needed the road assistance once, they helped out real quick. One star off because of the male staff who was there when we picked up - he was really unfriendly and annoyed by every question we had. The female staff was really friendly though.

Unprompted review
Good vehicle, but should have been cleaner
Liked the smooth pick up and return process, and the free ride back to our hotel.
Disliked the lack of some items of equipment (just one pillow and one plate for the 2 of us) and a faulty toaster that tripped the electricity supply.
Disliked the fact that the shower cubicle and floor were not clean, and neither was the gas hob and sink.
Liked the way the company dealt with this by suggesting we bought replacements, and then refunded the cost.
Liked the fact that there were no issues with the mechanical side.

Lucky Camper : Good experience
Good experience, very nice team in Christchurch airport branch.
The van (Hi 4 of 2014) has done the job. Good motor, no problem during our trip of +/- 2000km.
As the fanheater we had asked for was missing, Happy Camper team allowed us to buy one and reimbursed us for the cost.
The van could have been cleaner, curtains and ceiling, but we understand that it was not a brand new one, and for us the motor was the most important.
Nevertheless the bad reviews we had read, we had an overall good experience.
Before reception of the van you hire, check that the options you asked for are in the van.
