Rip off. is there a suit against this company yet?

the people I spoke to did not know anything about the card. I could not find out anything about the card. talking to a supervisor did not help. both people were hard to understand. I am on hold waiting on management. Is there a class action suit against this ripoff company yet.

I wish I could give it zero stars

What went wrong?
1. Card doesn’t work
2. Called support, says the card is supposed to work
3. Tried again, still doesn’t work
4. Called support, says the card is supposed to work
5. I give up

Save your money and avoid this card.

The 1 star is only because there is not…

The 1 star is only because there is not a negative 5 star rating on the screen. The card is the worst card to use out of all the gift cards on the gift card shelf. If you try to use it at any merchant they can noy figure out how to use it. They ask do we use it as a gift card or a credit card? Who knows, I don't. I stopped buying this card brand. It is not worth the embarrassment.

SCAM! Card number lifts off when trying to access

SCAM!
I was gifted a Happy Home Card. I tried to check the balance on the back and when I peeled the strip off to access the card number, some of the card number lifted off and I will never know what it on the card or be able to access the full amount. JUST GIFT CASH. DON’T WASTE MONEY ON SOME CORPORATION GETTING TO DIP INTO IT TO. Anyway, called the number on the card and their customer service number and OF COURSE you need to enter your card number to speak to anyone. Ridiculous.

Illegible PIN

we got one of these cards over a year ago and the pin number was illegible. We called the nuber on the back and opened 2 cases but no one ever responded. I went online and opened another case, no one responded. I called again today and the number goes to what seems like a personal mailbox. it seems this company is a scam do not buy these cards.

Received canadian happycard as a…

Received canadian happycard as a christmas gift with unknown balance amount.
(Friends didn't write it down or tell me amount on card)
Used it twice at 2 shopping locations.
1 paid in full and the other only $10 went through and I paid the vendor the remaining bill.
Neither vendor was able to tell me the remaining balance.
When I went to check the remaining balance via happycards.ca or on their toll free number, my card number would not compute on their end.
All automated and no customer service rep.
So does happycards just pocket the remaining balances of thousands of cardholders making thousands of dollars in profit off of this "runaround"?
Not good - NOT HAPPY
Buyers beware of this before you buy and WRITE THE PAID BALANCE AMOUNT ON CARD, especially when you buy it for someone as a gift.
Is happycards penny pinching and skimming off the top using this kind of scammy system?
Or did I empty the card on that last purchase and was it automatically cancelled once empty?

These cards are scams

These cards are scams! When we went to Boston Pizza they told us all the issues they were having with these cards. There is no way to swipe this card, it’s cardboard. If you scratch off the card numbers on the back the numbers get scratched off as well so that you can’t manually enter it either. They are completely useless cards and total scam!

Illegitimate Card

My boss got this card for me mid-December 2023, and the card had an expiration date of 12/23, so as soon as I wanted to use it, it had already expired. When I called the number on the back, I heard a voice message telling me that the card was expired and the value FORFEITED, which is illegal.

The phone message specifically stated that I wouldn't get a different response from a customer service agent (like I shouldn't even bother asking), but I did anyway, and they are sending me a new one that will take up to 30 days to receive.

The back of the card even states that the funds do not expire, so it's very wrong for them to have a voice message which states that my funds are expired, and to not try to ask. That's straight up wrong.

I'm VERY glad I called to get a new one sent to me, although the really put me through the ringer to access the money which is technically mine, paid for by my boss who unknowingly purchased that card as opposed to a prepaid VISA or Mastercard.

I DO NOT recommend ANYONE purchase these cards as they are clearly illegitimate. Don't get scammed. I'm going to be informing other people and businesses of my experience in hopes that they don't support this company anymore.

Scam do not buy

The happy cards don’t work at any of the stores listed on the card. The company is no help and, of course, Asian and hard to understand. So I’m out $100. What a scam.

Happycards create unhappiness and embarassment

December 19, 2023 went to Macys to use Seasons Greetings card worth $20.00 from happycards.com. Payment was declined. Toll free 855-606-3494 automated and no way to reach live person. Agree with all the reviews, this is a SCAM. I will inform Chase bank about this fiasco. It is advertised in their credit card offers.

More like unhappy cards :(

Went to redeem some of these cards for an online order I was making and since you have to enter them as a credit card there is no way you can split the total of your order between a normal gift card and your actual credit card. Also the total of your order needs to be exactly the value on the card or below if it is going to work at all. Happy cards make me very unhappy.

DO NOT BUY from this company; they are unethical

EXACT same experience as Teresa C who wrote on Nov 18th. There is no way to contact customer service via their website; and calling their customer service line is an automated message asking me to enter the card number, etc; then a recording that tells me this card is not valid / unactivated. Calling the activation line is ridiculous. After I enter all the requested info, it asked for last 4 digits of my number associated with the card - not possible, I never gave them that info; then it tells me there is technical issues and hangs up.

Teresa C wrote:
"valid date" had passed so I called the number on the back. was told I a new card would be issued and I'd receive it in up to 21 days later. A month later I got the new card, with a big sticker on it giving another number to activate it. When I tried that number I got a message saying it had to be activated where purchased and to take it back there. tried calling customer service and got the same message. looks like a scam to me.

Scam company

Scam company. Went to use my card for Black Friday online shopping at Macy’s. Which is a vendor listed on the front of the gift card. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with Macy’s rep, finally it went through. Ten minutes later get email stating that happy Effin cards declined the transaction. Called the 1-800 number on the back and spoke to a rep who said online transactions are not permitted with my card. Seriously?
I read in prior reviews that it doesn’t even work in the Macy’s store. Nice way to make a living Happy Cards issued by Metabank and serviced by Blackhawk Network California Inc ..!.
