Terrible experience with Happy Car Rent in Milan. I returned the car 2 months ago and they are still holding my €700 deposit. Every time I call, they give a different excuse—first they said it was being released, then they asked for my bank details to pay me manually, but still nothing has happened. They have stopped responding to my emails and are not helpful at all. This is a total waste of time and very bad service. Do not trust them with your money

I have rented a car from them in Milan Linate in January 2026 for a week. At first everything went ok, I got the car, the service was ok. On return of the car, there was no issues, no damage reported. Until today, which is more than 30 days, I have not received my 800e deposit back. I have contacted the company multiple times, first call to the Milan office, they inform the deposit usually is refunded in 7-10 working days. After 13 days no refund. Next contacted over the email, asking for the refund, get a reply that the voucher stated the refund can happen up to 30 days. They asked for account details for transfer of deposit (which is already very odd) I had few more exchanges with them over the email, all sounding like just delaying the issue. I have initiated charge back with my bank to try to get the money back from them. From the very beginning it was odd that they charged the deposit from the card instead of pre-authorising the amount (locking it on the card). I just hope the bank can pull the money back from them. At this stage I'm worried that I might not get the money back. STAY AWAY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT!!!!

We had a great experience! We originally booked our car at Malpensa Airport, but since our flight arrived in Bergamo, the manager kindly arranged to deliver the car there instead. Everything went smoothly the process was fast, polite, and very professional. The car was in excellent condition and drove perfectly.
Unfortunately, a truck hit us at a gas station during our trip, but the manager handled the situation exceptionally well. Our insurance covered all the damages, and everything was resolved without any problems.
I highly recommend Happy Rental to everyone excellent service, reliable cars, and truly caring staff!
