Great service, highly recommend

I went to Harley Therapy for ten months in total, and fully credit the experience with helping me completely overhaul areas of my life. I’d recommend the service to anyone who feels they need it, and would not hesitate to go back should I need to in the future, it was worth every penny. My therapist was Natalia, an incredibly open minded, understanding and empathetic person who made me feel that I could talk about anything. She really helped me to see things as they actually are, and not as I thought they were. I will be forever grateful.

Laura Oates has been brilliant and helped me more than I could have ever imagined. I came to see her when I was really not feeling like myself, and was at a loss as to how to move forward. Working with Laura has not only helped get me back to where I was, but much further than I thought was possible. I’ll be forever grateful to here. :)

Kate Robinson

I wasn't sure what to expect from therapy but my sessions with Kate have been invaluable. She made me feel completely at ease discussing anything that was on my mind, and being able to let my guard down and express difficult emotions was a huge relief. We got to the bottom of damaging thought patterns and worked through tools to deal with them, which I feel confident using on my own now. Her patience, understanding and guidance have enabled me to make what I am confident will be lasting positive changes. I would definitely recommend Kate, she is a wonderful therapist and I am very glad to know she is there if I need any future help. Thank you!

I have been a client of Dr. Maria Vella

I have been a client of Dr. Maria Vella on three separate occasions over 10 years. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Vella as a therapist. Dr. Vella has enabled me to develop deep insight and reflection and in doing so empowered me to move forward from very challenging times in my life.

World-class therapist Dr. Galya Smith! Very fruitful collaboration which triggered many discoveries and changes. I would recommend her to everyone!
Great price-value relationship

Just 4 stars because the price-value relationship for medical consultation is in my point of view nothing but unreasonable!

Jo Allen

Jo Allen has been incredibly caring not just for advice but also for listening to everything I’ve discussed with her. Her ability to understand me and my situation and provide logic behind all my thoughts and actions. I honestly thinks she has helped me turn my life around.

Review

Theodora Savidou has shown uptmost support and guided me in a way which I thought that I could only hope for. Countless times I opened myself up to what I perceived as a stranger, by hysterically crying and using the safe space that she never failed to provide. Through the thick and thin, numerous tissues, anecdotes and stream of negative thoughts that I carried with me to every session, she remained a strong role model to an emotionally unstable teenager, and not only believed in me but managed to spark that same inkling of hope every single Thursday Evening for a whole year. My mental health journey has been a battle, and without Theodora and the comforts of Harley Therapy, I am truly unsure where I would be. I am eternally grateful for this educational, strengthening and enlightening experience. I was taught to have faith in myself, and welcome all emotions; however good or bad, instead of surpress them and let them live inside of me. At a time where I had no friends, Theodora always welcomed me with a warm smile and space to cry without feeling embarrassed or scared. I would definitely recommend Harley Therapy to someone going through similar mental health struggles as through calming tasks of mindfulness, meditation, and self reflection, I feel like I finally have my mind back. Two years ago I would never have imagined that my mental state would ever get better, and with the help that Harley Therapy and Theodora have given to me, I am finally strong enough to stand up to what I fear most: myself.

I had a traumatising experience here. I wish I have not engaged with these people.

I had a traumatising experience at Harley Therapy. The points that I can legally cover in an online review regarding my dreadful experience here are only the minor matters of relevance to confidentiality breaches and related to breaches on the right to be treated with dignity, as the following:

I have asked Dr. Stephen Humphries for a letter to get adjustments needed at university, and I have asked him to not include the name of the medication in the requested letter for privacy related reasons. However, not only did he mention the name of the medication in the letter in this format "a drug called Elvanse", but he also described my situation using inappropriate language such as “hopefully we will stabilise her cognitive status".

I also went to the therapist Dr. Matt Kemsley who, after I told him that I wish to terminate my sessions, has shared some of my private information in an email he sent me, while such information should be restricted to sessions and records and certainly should not be shared in an email, and has used inappropriate language, such as telling me that it would be "healthy" if I did not terminate my sessions in the manner I did, (i.e. without discussing with him the reasons for terminating them). Dr. Kemsley has also discussed some highly sensitive matters about what he falsely claimed to be my case in an email sent from the email of the admin team of the clinic that is accessible by many who work at this clinic. As a result of this false claim, I have asked him to give me access to my records in order to check if there are other false information the clinic holds about me, but the clinic did not accommodate my request although it is a guaranteed right under the Date Protection Act. After I asked Dr. Kemsley to explain to me his behaviours, as a person dealing with anxiety I need explanations to cope with others' misbehaviours, and after I tried to show him the impact his misbehaviours had on my health in order for him to avoid doing the same to other clients, not only did he avoid answering my questions, but I also received an email from the clinical director telling me to not email him while I have illustrated to Dr. kemsley that the email is confidential. I have insisted on getting explanations to cope with the anxieties caused by his misbehaviours, then I received an email from another person working in this clinic telling me that they were informed of my emails, while such emails are ought to be confidential, while I have already indicted to him that I do not wish for my email to be shared with others in the clinic, and while the code of conduct of his profession clearly indicates that such private information -as the information that was included in my email- is only to be discussed between a therapist and a client. I was just trying to get justifications to reduce my anxiety, but I ended up with worse anxiety as a result of his sharing of my emails that contain personal information with people in this clinic and such infringements upon my confidentiality rights. I was trying to solve those matters in relation to his behaviours by email instead of raising a complaint or taking legal action, however, the clinic continued with going against my request and infringments upon my rights.

In general terms, I had a very traumatising experience here, which is mostly due to incidents that I cannot legally include in an online review. That I got out with worse mental health than when I initiated my sessions here, that I got out unable to perform some simple everyday tasks that I used to do with ease prior to having therapy sessions here, that my behaviours and ability to think straight changed dramatically to the worse after initiating my sessions here. That although it has been over 2 years since my last appointment here, I still cannot resolve the terrible impact this experience had on my health and my abilities to function. What is deeply concerning is that after I told Dr. Kemsley about the impact his misbehaviors had on my health -which even includes developing suicidal ideations that is very uncharacteristic of myself-, the clinical director told me to not discuss the matter with him, instead of acting professionally by trying to alleviate the harm caused on me by his behaviours.

After searching on the matter, it appears that It is not uncommon for mental health patients to have their basic rights infringed upon in some mental health facilities. I sought help here due to the good reviews I found here and on their website about the practitioners in this clinic, but I certainly did not expect to experience such outrageous treatment. Please think twice before booking an appointment here, maybe there are better alternatives elsewhere.

At Harley Therapy it is standard procedure that all letters provided in support of clients are sent to clients prior to distribution for review and editing; to preserve accuracy and confidentiality. We adopt this procedure as it means that if there are any amendments a client wishes to be made, these can be addressed and the final draft is produced.

It is standard practice at Harley Therapy that communications be undertaken via our administration team and not typically with therapists directly. Our administration team are bound by a code of confidentiality and information forwarded from clients, or sent to clients, is handled confidentially. Clients are able to opt out of this process if they wish. All clinical notes are stored privately by therapists and are not shared with anyone else without prior permission. Any concerns or anxieties raised in respect to therapy are encouraged and all efforts made to address them therapeutically.

Both Dr Humphries and Dr Kemsley are long-standing and highly regarded practitioners within the organisation. Throughout this time they have received consistently positive feedback from clients and their work shows they are strongly committed to working thoughtfully and effectively with clients.

I had therapy with Leila and she was great to work with. I found her easy to open up to and she helped me develop the tools needed to get through a difficult time - and skills which I will utilise going forward. Would highly recommend her.

Michelle Bassam - Harley Therapy

I would highly recommend Harley St Therapy.

As a generally sporty, outgoing male in my mid-20s I always had a somewhat cliche view of therapy which I regret. Taking the time to speak with Michelle helped me to overcome a recent emotional trauma and also address longstanding underlying self-esteem issues which I would likely have carried forward unknowingly without voicing them

I would encourage anyone to use this service and have actively vouched for it at work and amongst my friends

Life saving.

Though Harley therapy is expensive, very expensive, I would recommend them 100% to anyone who is in a financial position to do so. I myself am not wealthy and have spent rather a lot of money on therapy here but I can say wholeheartedly that it was the best decision I have ever made.
I have been using harley therapy for about 2 years now on and off and can honestly say that it most probably saved my life.
My sessions with Jane Robinson felt safe and really gave me the opportunity to open up. she is the most professional, compassionate and non-judgemental therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I can not praise her enough - I genuinely do not have the words to describe what she has done for me in the past couple of years. I came into therapy with an onslaught of issues and at my worst could probably be quite difficult but Jane was always patient with me. My mental health and my ability to cope with life in general has come on leaps and bounds and I am able to regulate my emotions faster and more clearly now.
I genuinely enjoyed my sessions with Jane and never felt uncomfortable (beyond the usual realms of psychoanalysis). It isn't an exaggeration to say that Jane saved my life - I have no idea where I would be without this therapy.
Harley therapy have always been brilliant with appointment reminders, invoices etc. I am just so grateful for this service.

My experience with Dr Vella was highly…

My experience with Dr Vella was highly rewarding in a sense of self discovery and improvement. I wasn't quite sure why I went in but some 30 sessions later came out sure that I was a better person with a clear outcome of perspective and positive control over heated situations. She was brutally candid at times which I really appreciated as this was all about openness and honesty and made me realise that things which I took as acceptable and given might at times cause stress to those around and especially in a relationship. She also helped me air frustrations objectively when at times I thought I'd hit a brick wall. When I thought I was always right she cleared the perspective and balance which was the most insightful part of our interactions. I would highly recommend seeing Marija for many forms of counselling.
