Harry Ramsdens on DFDS ferry - truly awful
Harry Ramadan have taken over catering on DFDS ferris from Dover. Just had the fish and chips which was dry with plenty of tasteless chips and a minuscule portion of fish (the expensive bit). Truly if I was a foreigner experiencing this for the first time then I would never try fish and chips again. It’s a disgrace to the name “fish and chips”!
Money wasted
My family and I dined at the Cheshire Oaks outlet store ....after a long day shopping & to our astonishment, we found the
service was absolutely appaling, considering this is a world wide estabisment , staff had a blaze approach to customer service ...and the majority of the staff need a update on uniform ( looking rugged and dirty ) , There were Men with long hair which should have been tied in a hair net and beards should be covered especially working with food , surely this does not conform with health & hygiene ( i know it doesn't as I've been a food handler for 25yrs ) .. .... we ordered onion rings as a side order to be accompanied with our meal yet we were given them prior and told....( .eat them to be getting along with ) ...
We were asked do you need any ketchup etc , we declined at first and then changed out mind and the reply from the waiter was( oh you want it now ) as if it was too much trouble .
The portion size are generous , however would it be a idea to invest in larger plates ...too much on a small plate made the food uncomfortable to eat ,
We payed just on £90 for 3 people meals and drinks included.....
I also notices whilst we waited for our meal , other customers leaving and mentioning about their dissapointed visit aswell.
Not a place I would be returning too Nor would I recommend... I heard one customer describe the restaurant as ...its just a glorified fish and chip shop which it is .NOT..!!!
No Gluten Free in Bournemouth Harry Ramsden's!!
The normal fish and chips were superb for those in our group who can do gluten, but for those who couldn't do gluten they had to settle for something else. Problem is, when you go to a fish and chip shop....you want fish & chips!
Taste and price
It was not good but not bad it was very very pricey and was soo small proportion i do not recommend like what is this price and proportion
Notting Hill branch
Notting Hill branch. Literally the worst restaurant I have ever been to. A young guy took me up the stairs to the restaurant and gave me a menu. No one else there or in the takeaway section. He never came back, so eventually I went down and had to go into the kitchen to give them my order. A very sulky woman took the order. 15 minutes later she brought up the smallest portion of fish you’ve ever seen. To be fair I’d ordered the OAP deal which is described as ‘small’ but I have had it in other branches and it has been reasonable. She still hadn’t brought the tea or gherkin so after another 5 minutes I went down again - I could see the (minuscule!) gherkin sitting on the counter, and after another 5 minutes - she brought it upstairs. Still no tea. When I had almost finished the ‘food’ she finally brought the tea - almost 30 minutes after I’d ordered it! How long does it take to put a teabag in a cup - when you have no other customers! She came back and took my plate but didn’t even take it down to the kitchen - just put it on another table! I refused the inclusive bread and butter pudding. I have never seen such a surly serving person in my life! I went to pay the bill and a nice man said he wouldn’t charge me service as he could see it had been bad. He offered to do something for me if I went back and signed my receipt. Please do not go to this place - it is awful.

Yeah just don't buy this slop even on the reduced Isle. First bite and binned. You can't trust these conglomerate processed food manufacturers. Thought with the so called laws it would have got better. Absolute disgrace.
product complaint
I had cause to email them about a product i purchase. This was a few months ago and nobody has had the decency to reply to my email. Not good service.

We had a lovely 2 corse meal here at the bournemouth place . Compared to last yr ,where they forgot and left us waiting for 30 mins to serve us . This time the young staff ,were on the ball ,very quick service . Very polite ,very attentive ..
We would like to nominate jake as employee of the week 14/ 8/ 25 as he was very hard working boy . He deserves the bottle of wine this week . Cheers . X
Avoid
I actually saw a member of staff, holding what was obviously still slightly frozen bread, under the lightbulb at the serving counter, and keep pressing his whole hand into the bread to check it was warm. Another member of staff repeatedly moved food about on plates with his fingers while it was sat waiting at the serving hatch. The female member of staff who was serving food behind the counter was handling salads etc with her bare hands, wiping her face etc.
Then, the older guy in the kitchen was stressing out and shouting at the staff to "stop serving people for 30 minutes" also £43 pound for 2 regular fish and chips and a beer? Fish taste of not much at all and the chips were dry. Never again.

If I could give this less then one star I would Harry ramsden Brighton what a joke I run a restaurant for over 10 years and the service and staff was terrible the food was cold the manager that looks like he’s just come out of nappy’s all he had to say was I will tell the chef no offer of replacement food no offer of a reduced bill £55,86 down the drain and all in dirty shirts
Poorly Designed Website
Due to a badly designed weblink the wrong table was booked and our option was not available when we arrived. We refrained from ordering; the manager was apologetic

Starters of prawn cocktail and pulled pork balls ok. Fish chips main not good. Fish over cooked batter biscuits with a sliver of fish in the middle. Doors wide open, inside like wind tunnel. Nowhere near as good as other Harry Ramsden's.

Poor experience at Harry Ramsden’s Bournemouth – won’t be returning
Attended as a group of eight. While staff were polite, the overall experience was poor due to a series of basic service issues.
I ended up with wine mixed with lemonade after pointing to a friend’s drink — the waitress didn’t clarify the order, which would’ve prevented the mistake. Food service was slow, with my main arriving well before the starter. A colleague received fish without chips, and only after chasing were we told the kitchen had run out — at a fish and chip restaurant, this is inexcusable. No one informed her at the time, and yet she was still charged for chips with her fish.
We had clearly requested separate bills at the start, and this was acknowledged. However, when it came to paying, we were told it couldn’t be done. Only after further discussion did the waitress reluctantly offer to split the bill, which then took far too long to process.
The staff were not rude, but the lack of training and service awareness led to a frustrating and disappointing visit. Not recommended.
Afternoon tea at Bournemouth was a…
Afternoon tea at Bournemouth was a disaster. Everything was overcooked, looked unappealing from the start and tasted worse. The server was really nice but wasn’t permitted to change anything. The dessert (literally a 1.5 square inch of ‘bread & butter pudding’) was the best thing we had. Probably because it wasn’t fried!!! But still beige. Would I return? Not even for takeaway chips.

This was the worst afternoon tea we have ever had, service was very slow even though there were plenty of staff outside the kitchen, just a mass of batter, the only thing edible was the miniature fish burger, apart from that it was difficult to find any fish, the chips were cold so asked for a replacement, the poor girl was mortified when we had to ask her again for the chips 10 minutes later, by this time everything was cold, then was told we has dessert so waited for that and received a pot of custard and a pot of chocolate sauce and another mass of batter, don’t even know what was supposed inside, definitely wouldn’t return.
cost far to much for what we got
Harry Ramsdens, Bournemouth
Harry RamsdensBournemouth. No gluten free batter option and no dogs, even on the terrace. Went to Urban Garden instead. Dog/family friendly and delicious GF options available. ❤️
