6.2. You retain ownership of your original work, but you grant us the right to display and use it for marketing, archival, and editorial purposes without any additional compensation.

My adult child paid $25 to enter their "Global poetry competition". On their website, the competition rules state: “Registration Fee Is Refunded If You Are Not Selected Into the 1st Round". They later send a "congratulations you've been selected among thousands..." e-mail with a worthless certificate and asked for another $25 to move to the next level. Hashtag Kalakar implied that paying the entry fee covered participation through the competition, by not explicitly disclosing further fees, but later demanded additional undisclosed fees (“pay to progress”) without having given prior notice . No reputable organization leads people to enter a competition with incomplete or misleading information promising large prizes or exposure to keep adding “round” or “processing” fees.

It's weird that a competition charges twice, once when you sign up and second when you are 'amazingly chosen as a finalist within two days of judging 30 000 entries... The second 25 dollars is for you to proceed to the next stage of judging. This has SCAM written all over it. Please delete anything you receive from hashtag kalakar.

Hashtag Kalakar is an online organisation that runs writing contest in India. They have never in the past four years real top two winners, apart from their open mikes, just to show the public. Every time they try to announce a new contest, I have tried to comment on their new post, asking them for the previous winners and to my utter dismay, they have always hidden or deleted my comment. The real question to ask them is who went to Bali and who won the lacs of rupees. I have also recently found out that Champquest foundation as well as Maata culture are also run by the same person named Akash Mahurkar and Vandana Mahurkar. They are from Amravati, but they pose HashtagKalakar to be from Bangalore. This is an elaborate scheme that they have been running for more than five years. The real question is who have given the prize money to if they can prove it using the form 16bs for the winners, I might believe them, but they can't do any of it because there are no real winners.
