I have used #mechanic over the last few years for service and MOT on both of my cars. I've found them to be knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and professional, whilst offering great value for money.
When the plastic splash shield under the engine of my ASX came loose while my wife was out driving she took the car in to #mechanic and as it was a relatively small job and we use them for our service and MOT they were kind enough to resecure it free of charge!

Outstanding service delivered by a very friendly, professional, and knowledgable group of people. They have worked on two of my cars now for various services and modifications and I have been extremely happy with their work each time. This is the only garage in the area that have my full trust now!

Woke up at 5:30 to a completely flat tyre. Phoned hashtag as my first port of call, hoping they would be trustworthy as I am new to the area. They managed to order in a tyre and fit it the same day for me, and charged a lot less than previous garages in London! Also booked in for my MOT - will definitely be recommending hashtag to the car company I work for - Thankyou! :)

Honestly the best experience I have ever had with a garage, what lovely people. Initial booking lovely lady talked me through service options seemed more interested in not letting me book more than I needed than up selling. Friendly mechanic on drop off. Quick and clear communication on the outcome of the MOT (good news) and a clear cost for that and the service. On pick up I was asked to pay £115 less than I had been quoted as they had found some service parts didn't need replacing so had saved me a few quid. Never had that from a garage before. Clearly run by really nice people, clearly excellent mechanics and not a garage that's just interested in your money. Very much presented as people that really care about their customers.

I have read the negative review before mine and honestly my experience could not have been more different. Great local garage and will be using again.

Worst experience I have ever had when dealing with a garage. My air con wasn’t working so I made the mistake of thinking hashtag mechanics could help. They had my car in all day, looked it over and told me the issue, quoted me a price which was very expensive but I agreed. Took the car back the following week for the work to be done. Got a phone call late afternoon telling me they have found other issues and it would cost a few hundred pounds more than agreed. I declined and said it’s way too expensive I’d rather leave it. Then, if you can believe it, they refused to give me my car back! Said that unless I pay them they weren’t going to put it back together and give me the keys. I said that they are stealing my vehicle and that I'm going to call the police, which they encouraged me to do! So that’s exactly what I did. This whole time all I can think of is that I’m never going to get my vehicle back and if I do it’s highly likely they are maliciously damaging it out of spite!
If they were telling the truth, which I highly doubt, and there were more issues than they originally thought then that’s fine, but I’m not legally obliged to agree to pay them more money! I am perfectly within my rights to decline and have my vehicle back, if they had done the inspection correctly to begin with then none of this would have happened. Apparently I’m not the first person this has happened to and trading standards are aware of hashtag mechanics and the owner Ryan. I finally got my car back, after parting ways with nearly £200, not only am I in the same position I was to start with, but now I have flashing lights all over my dashboard, and the stress and utter shock of how truly awful this experience was. I would urge everyone think twice before you take the risk and use this so called ‘mechanic’. There are far better and honest garages out there. No doubt hashtag mechanics will respond to this review with a different story and try to blame the customer as I have seen them do on other reviews, but the fact is my car is in a worse state it was before it went in, I’m £200 out of pocket and I lost the use of my car for a number of days. I wish I had done my research on this poor excuse for a garage first. Use at your own risk

Ryan from the team took our Chevrolet Captiva in last minute for repairs when 6 other garages refused to work on it. Ryan took a whole day out of his schedule to work on our much complicated car in limp mode and has saved us thousands.
Ryan also did a last minute MOT and a Premium Service.
We are ever so grateful after not having a car for 3 months to have it back, I just wish I had taken our car to them 3 months sooner.
Haylea has also been amazing at answering my millions of questions and keeping me assured.
I was kept updated throughout the process and nothing was missed in the final diagnostic.

Ryan has worked on our cars for around 5 years now.

Ryan and the team are amazing, honest, to the point and fair. They go out of their way for you and i wouldn't trust anyone else with my cars.

I would give Ryan and his team 10 Stars if I could because they are the very best when it comes to Customer Service, advice and pricing of work that needs to be done to your vehicle. Unlike a National Group of Service Centres, beginning with "H", that told me that I needed a replacement part that was when Ryan checked turned out to be unnecessary!
I can't thank them enough at #MECHANIC and they will continue to get my business from here on.

Ryan and his team are the best mechanics I have ever used, they are honest, friendly and good value. They recently changed the complete engine in my Jaguar XJ, below quoted amount and went above and beyond at every stage.

Simply put, I will never go elsewhere.

Ryan and Andy have looked after my daily drive, my two daughters’ cars plus my old Volkswagen Campervan for a number of years. Pricing has always been competitive but more importantly, I trust them implicitly. Their knowledge is second to none and they really go above and beyond to help their customers. Would recommend (and frequently do) to anyone looking for a good, knowledgeable, honest, competitive mechanic.

The Worst mechanic I've dealt with in 20 years!!
Having quoted me £75 he produced a invoice for £270 ! When i questioned Ryan about the extortionate invoice he made up a series of repairs that he claims he did, i explained that is not what i brought my car in for and you have no right to just make up repairs, he had no evidence of doing any such repair. He refused to let me have my car unless i paid him, having a hospital appointment for my 3 week old baby i had no option but to pay in hope that he may have a conscience and try to resolve the extortionate cost. Having tried for over 3 weeks to speak to ryan he's not returned my calls and when visiting him he says hes too busy (probably ripping off other people) .The repair he carried out then failed and still claims he's to busy, so booked my car in with the dealership who has pointed out very poor workmanship and to claim through an ombudsman but the ryans garage is not part of a trade body so cannot try this route (i can see why he's not part of a good garage scheme, clearly its not a good garage!) The whole experience has been very stressful and costly due to ryans bad workmanship and zero customer service. The day i booked my car in i heard nothing all day, getting anxious about my daughters hospital app the following day and needing the car which he promised would be fixed i decide to walk to his garage and could not see my car so walked further past to find it in a local car park with out my permission, now i know why the car park is always full when this is for the public not ryans customers carswhich he decides to scatter anywhere round the town. Walked back to his garage to ask if my car is fixed and they had no idea what car and where it was, i had to tell them where it was. The decent thing to do would be a simple call to say its ready or not ready. He had no intention of calling me to collect my car as he was locking up whilst drinking a can of beer. Having mentioned my bad experience with this deceitful person to other locals it appears he has been doing this for quite some time. I would recommend going with a garage thats part of a trade body so you have some come back not people like ryan at hashtag mechanic to be left out of pocket!

Ryan is hands down the best mechanic I’ve ever dealt with, he’s upfront honest and to top it all off a really lovely guy !

He has helped me out on numerous occasions and always explained things to me, if only there were more mechanics like him !

I was blown away by the high quality service at #Mechanic! The whole team was very friendly and helpful, and the service itself was completed to a high standard by Andy, who was very thorough and efficient. Worth driving all the way from Watford for!

Ryan and team are absolutely incredible. They have worked on nearly every car I have, ranging from small runarounds to my pride and joy sports cars. Always professional, reasonably priced and immensely knowledgeable. I'm a keen DIY'er but Ryan is always my first choice for jobs beyond my competency. He can do it all.
