Terrible experience. I’m pre approved on clearscore for plenty of loans. I have highest credit rating 1000/1000, affordability score strong and chose Hastings for cheapest rate vs overall terms and balance to repay.
Guaranteed preapproved apparently
Nope. Rejected and when I called their underwriting team, they didn’t know the reason and couldn’t tell me the reason as it’s due to automated terms.
I am an accountant in a bank. We also worked with clearscore in the past offering personal loans to consumers.
Our underwriting team knew exactly the reason for the scorecard rejection.
I was told by Hastings it’s business confidentiality, but surely as a consumer I should be aware of exactly reason I am being rejected for credit which is otherwise advertised as preapproved.
I’ve obtained loans through clearscore personally using preapproved only in the past and never had any problems. Even after 3 duplicate applications with Hastings (through app crashing) and phone call with underwriters willing to disclose all information and financial history which is completely clean, I was still weirdly rejected.

Do not offer pre approved if it is not preapproved via scorecard underpinning credit risk decisions!! Not impressed

This is a scam a friend got took for 6k, very pushy with him, I did some research and warned them about potential scam with it being to good to be true. I hate to say I told you so. Massive red flag there’s no such thing as guaranteed or no risk. Please be vigilant

I invested a very small amount of money to test the water. I feel that the first agent was nice but very pushy into trying to get further investment and constantly trying to get me to take out loans to invest in bitcoin. He has since left the company. I was appointed a new agent called Max. He is a disgrace. He is rude and accusing me of holding out on him. How dare he! His words were ‘are you holding out on me’ ‘surely you have a few thousand hidden away everyone does’. He also said that it’s not worth his time if I’m not putting money into it. Totally unprofessional! It seems clear that the account has sat inactive since this conversation. I have checked the account at various times and has remained unchanged since the 16/17th July. I understand that people will be under pressure to earn commission but to accuse a customer of holding out on him is downright disgusting. I am just a normal person with daily financial struggles if I’m clearly not the right fit for your company. I suffer greatly from stress and depression and really did not need added insults from someone so unprofessional. I have sent to emails to the company which although have been delivered have not been read so remains unanswered. I just want to close this account and transfer the money that it has earned.
