I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Havana Salsa.

Before the class, I was open and honest that I am autistic and have ADHD, and that I am not comfortable being touched by people I don't know. I explained that I only feel comfortable dancing with my partner. Instead of making any effort to discuss reasonable adjustments or accessibility, I was effectively told that if I wasn't willing to dance with other people, then I couldn't participate.

That left me feeling excluded and discriminated against. I should not have to choose between forcing myself into situations that cause significant distress or giving up on an activity I wanted to enjoy.

What made this especially upsetting is that I felt pressured into either disclosing deeply personal trauma to justify my boundaries or simply accepting that I wasn't welcome. Nobody should ever feel they have to relive painful experiences just to access a leisure activity.

Accessibility isn't just about wheelchair ramps—it's also about recognising and accommodating neurodivergent people and respecting personal boundaries. Instead, I was made to feel that my disability and my need for bodily autonomy were inconveniences rather than something worthy of understanding.

The only alternative offered was essentially to pay for private lessons, which is not an accessible solution for everyone. Inclusion should not depend on whether someone can afford to pay more.

I left feeling hurt, excluded, and deeply disappointed. From my experience, Havana Salsa showed a serious lack of understanding of neurodiversity, consent, and accessibility. I cannot recommend them to anyone who expects their boundaries and disabilities to be treated with respect.

High quality salsa lessons

I really enjoy the classes and feel like I've made progress since starting at beginner level at the beginning of the year. The teachers are all really patient and break down every step. The lessons and nights out are a lot of fun! Danni at Whetstone is a great teacher 🙂

Great fun and valuable lessons from professional teachers 👍

From the first day I have been feeling welcomed at each of the class. Rodolfo, Laura and Danni are amazing teachers and have supported everyone on our way of learning salsa. Each time I feel there like at a small holiday because I love dancing salsa and I have been greatly supported by the teachers. Can't wait to start the next level. 🤩🤩🤩

New skills, great fun!

Great enthusiastic teachers at Northampton, I've been going for about 12 months, they are very knowledgeable and break down moves to learnable chunks, they are patient and listen to their students, lessons are fun I always feel I've learnt something new and you can practice at the social events

Havana Salsa, Whetstone Leicester.

I’m nearer 70 than 60 and decided to join a couple of dance classes this year. Dancing is good for remembering patterns and sequences. It also helps with balance and mobility. The Whetstone, Leicester class is super friendly, and we rotate dance partners, which is useful for me as a solo dancer. There are three dance levels, and the level 3 men often help partner the beginners. The dance teachers, Maddy, Danni and their assistants are thorough in teaching Salsa, and very approachable. It’s great fun.

Loved every minute of it

Loved every minute of it. We are only at level 1 at the minute but will certainly be going back to do the next levels. The teachers are amazing, and walk you through the steps very well. Everyone is very friendly and inviting. We look forward to our class every week. Place your nerves to one side and get booked in.

Havana Salsa classes are a great way to learn and improve your salsa skills

Havana Salsa classes are a great way for adults to learn to dance and meet and make new friends. Lessons are structured from level 1 beginner to level 3 advanced, over 7 week blocks. Teachers are enthusiastic, friendly and welcoming.

I originally started salsa just to learn enough skills to be able to take to the dance floor at a social event. I haven’t looked back, it’s part of my week to be active and a fun evening.

Havana Salsa is a great way to learn in a structured way and keep improving.

So much fun and highly recommended!

I would highly recommend these classes and Mady and Danielle are wonderful. This was my first time doing anything like this, but I've always wanted to learn so I took the plunge and booked the first class to just try it. I was so nervous... but I shouldn't have been. Everyone is so friendly, so welcoming and it's such a fun atmosphere. It's a great way to simply do something social and fun and learn at the same time. The teachers are amazing and I have enjoyed it so much I signed up for the rest of the classes. If you're thinking about going, do it. You won't regret it 💜

I had a disappointing experience with them.

I had a disappointing experience with the 4th class voucher. Despite attending only two classes, I was denied access without any clear explanation of the terms. The trainers couldn't show me the conditions and failed to communicate important details upfront. This caused confusion and disrupted my plans, and I received no apology. Poor customer service and lack of transparency overall.

We planned to pay for the classes when we were done with the coupon and also go to parties. It is a shame that instead of making it fun and correct, they have such poor customer service.

Shameful way to operate

Booked 4 places for beginners salsa. Before we got to the first class, we found info - not in the description of the class - that attendees would have to frequently swap partners with others in the class. This just wasn’t something 2 of us could do, and I would never have booked if I’d realised. Have emailed 3 times now over two weeks, explaining and asking for a refund, but no response. No one ever answers the phone number on the website. Really shameful way to operate.

Salsalicious!! Auditions for Strictly incoming !!

Salsalicious! All the teachers make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The other members are always on hand to help and practice. Very Friendly atmosphere so don’t be afraid to turn up and start learning on your own. There’s more solo dancers than couples. No better way to burn calories and wiggle the hips… well.. almost 😉!!
