I brought a vintage tenor sax online from Headwind, but decided it wasn't for me. The staff were so helpful and understanding. I could not fault the great customer service. This how great customer service is measured, when things don't go as planned. I would probably visit the shop every month, if didn't live at the other end of the country.
This is a great place for saxophones. I bought a used soprano which was packed really well and shipped to me. It arrived in excellent condition and was so well set-up that I haven't had to change a thing over a few years of playing. I recently made the 120 mile journey to try some baritone saxes. They had a good stock of vintage and new, so I got to compare a number of low Bb baritones which are not easy to find. The knowledge and advice was first rate, I'm glad I made the time to visit. A few minor tweaks were made for me on the day, and I came away with a baritone that is playing superbly. A great shop which I can thoroughly recommend.
The team at Headwind have been nothing but helpful in my dealings. I've sold and bought a number of high-value saxes through them (Tom), without any issues at all. Well recommended, true to their word. And they helped me find my perfect tenor (Yamaha Atelier) which is not an easy horn to get hold of. 100% happy.
