Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, noting that items received were not as advertised on the website. Customers frequently reported issues with quality, including poor construction, incorrect materials like polyester instead of wool, and inaccurate sizing. The website itself was often criticized for lacking clear information about product origins and fiber content. Reviewers also found the refund and return policies to be problematic, with many struggling to return items or receive their money back. Some people mentioned that the company would offer partial refunds or alternative products instead of full refunds, and that returning items to China at their own cost was a common issue.

no stars

no stars! I wish I came to this site first before I bought these products. I can't believe this site is still running live considering the reviews. How do we shut down sites like these?

If I could I would give no stars

If I could I would give no stars, total SCAM DO NOT BUY. Dreadful items arrived from China not as described. Add inferred that they were hand knitted with care but obviously machine knit. Loose threads and holes under arms and told me to mend them myself. Money back guarantee a con and refused to honour this guarantee.only saving grace is that I paid by credit card and was refunded by the bank. SO BEWARE AND BE WARNED

Avoid this company.

If I could give a zero rating, then I would. Their items are made in China from inferior materials. Customer service is absolutely awful. Attempts to return the item were made impossible, by obstructive and repetitive emails. My card provider obtained a full refund. DO NOT purchase from this dreadful company.

If I could rate this company a "0", I would

If I could rate this company a "0", I would. I ordered a cardigan sweater with a yoke design from them. It took weeks to arrive, but I was not kept informed about its status. When the sweater finally arrived, about a month after I'd ordered it, the colors were nice, and it fit - but it had not been designed as a true yoke sweater should be (I am a knitter). Specifically, the yoke was made in three separate pieces, and seamed together. It also contained no label with care instructions for whatever fiber it is made of (I could not tell what that was). I tried to return the sweater and get a refund, but the company would not take it back, and, in lieu of a refund, said that they would at most give me a credit (towards future merchandise, which needless to day I did not want to purchase) of 10% of the purchase price. I would recommend that folks not do business with this company - ever.

Do NOT waste your money!

The cardigan I ordered could not be used because two of the buttonholes were not big enough. It was generally poor quality. To return it cost almost as much as the item. I have been promised a partial refund, but it has still not appeared, in spite of my sending reminders.

Heather and lily is a scam

I ordered a sweater for my niece for her birthday. She picked one out and it shipped to her. It is cheap, thin, not designed or constructed like the photo. This is not a legitimate company. Do not fall for it like I did

This is a fake website

This is a fake website! The sweaters are from China and very poor quality, not at all like what is shown of the website. Don't make the same mistake I made and order from this company.

False advertising and very poor quality.

Their advertising is false. The sweaters are made in China, not Vermont at a small factory run by two women. The quality is terrible. The colors are not the same as shown on the website. Delivery from China takes a long time and the tracking doesn’t work because most of the time your purchase is somewhere mid-Atlantic. AND worst of all trying to return it and get a refund is almost impossible. I learned a very hard lesson and lost $59--so far. Maybe a miracle will happen and they will tell me how to return it and give me a refund. I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY.

This is a total scam

This is a total scam. The sweaters show. On the website are obviously wool and what I just received, from China by the way, is polyester and poorly constructed.
You should be ashamed.

Ok so 10 minuets after placing this…

Ok so 10 minuets after placing this order I found the identical cardigan on Temu website for half the price I had just paid. Tried to correspond with them and received no reply. Cardigan has arrived. Clearly not hand made, poor quality yarn, poor size, poor buttons, no label, badly made button holes. If only I had seen Temus 10 mins before and not after. £40 down the drain.

Poor quality

The sweater is nothing like the website photos. The website is lacking in information about fiber content, and about real origins of the sweaters. The company, Heather and Lily UK went out of business in 2023. This organization must have bought the name rights.Took forever to get to the US from China. The design is much less intricate, the colors are wrong, and the workmanship is shoddy. When customer service was contacted, a return cost of $25-$40 was quoted.

Garbage

Garbage. Great concept for a zip sweater but poor construction, poor material, zipper is non-functional, and the sizing seems like they grabbed a random tag, sewed it in, and magically it would become that size (I am normally an XXL and the sweater didn’t even fit my daughter who is a L). Avoid, do not buy.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. 100% polyester. Poorly made, awful sizing. Terrible return shipping. Made in China. Terrible return policies. The sleeves are sized for Orangutans and the torso for a small child. Don't believe the nonsense about 40 years in business. The real Heather & Lily closed down. Also, check their "testimonies" AI images with female names on men. It's all made up. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Very misleading

Very misleading. They claim to be based in York, UK and offer free delivery with Royal Mail in 1-3 days. Delivery was 16 days, started off in China with Yun Express and then was handled by Yodel once it arrived in the UK. They left the package on my doorstep, I never had an email to allow me to change delivery day or leave in a safe place. One jumper (of the 2) was a birthday present so I tried to send it back for a refund. They offered me the option to buy another jumper from them for £9.95, get a 10% refund, or get free shipping on my next order. The jumpers are okay but clearly not hand knitted, the pattern name is different on the bag than on the website. The "opening times" on the website are contradictory, and their email replies are always between midnight and 6am. Stock is apparently limited but one that I bought - at the time there were "only 4" left, and 2 weeks later there are "only 5" Many other inconsistencies.

Total Scam - Crap Sweaters

Sweaters are NOT hand knitted wool from USA. They are low quality polyester sewn by machine. They don’t give full refunds and will only offer a 10% refund OR they will allow me to choose another sweater.

I reported to ftc fraud site and am working through my credit card for a full refund.

Buyer Beware - SCAM

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing a sweater from this Scam of a company. They claim to sell Icelandic Sweaters which is a bunch of b.s. I knew there was something off when I received the shipping confirmation and it was a courier company from China even though they claim to be a Canadian company.

Despite seeming to imply they are a US company their products are cheap poor quality items made in China. When I received my order I wanted to return it and they would only offer full credit for another item or wanted me to pay for postage and duty fees to return it

Fake company, stay away!!!

As all other reviewers stated - stay away from this company. The sweaters are not as advertised, they come from China, acrylic yarn and funky colors. I’m from the US and the ads I saw said they were based in Maine, they are not. I “fought” with them by email for 3 weeks and ended up having to settle for a 25% refund and I got to keep the crappy sweater. I feel the wording on their return policy is misleading. As stated before, buy nothing from this company.
