In 1998, IG Klettern M&S e.V. opened Heavens Gate, one of Munich's first climbing gyms, and the tallest one (30 meters high) in the old Kartoffelflockensilos of the former Pfanniwerke. Between 2017 and 2021 Heavens Gate was lovingly renovated and extended into a new look that combines tradition and modernity. The 30-metre-high silos that have always made it special have remained. New, modern climbing and bouldering areas and a 19-meter-high outdoor climbing wall have been added. The result is a fully barrier-free and modern climbing and bouldering facility for all requirements in the Werksviertel Mitte, an innovative and lively urban quarter. Despite the modernization, Heavens Gate has retained its unique charm. It is a meeting place for everyone, whether young or old, beginner, hobby climber or professional. No matter where you come from or what language you speak. Big or small, fat or thin, no matter what skills you have, you are welcome!
