I employed the services of Dr. Heeger to support my son in GCSE English Lit & Lang. My son has creative ideas but finds it challenging to put this onto paper in a coherent manner. The 'one to one' sessions with Dr. Heeger were tailored for my son's skillset. As a teacher, he was able to establish my child's strengths and areas for development. He carefully took him through a method of breaking down each title question and then scaffolding his knowledge and understanding of the text. Dr. Heeger taught him a thorough 'system' which he could then easily apply to any question in the exam. His A* in this subject is fully testament to Dr. Heegers holistic approach, outstanding subject knowledge and full understanding of the skillset of each of his students. Thank you, Dr. Heeger!

I cannot recommend the tutoring team highly enough following the support they provided for my son during his IB English studies. From the very beginning, their professionalism, subject knowledge and ability to build confidence were exceptional.
What stood out most was the way they combined deep understanding of the IB English curriculum with highly personalised teaching. Rather than simply “teaching to the test”, they helped my son genuinely improve his analytical thinking, essay structure and confidence in interpreting literature and language texts. Complex concepts that had previously felt overwhelming became much clearer through their patient explanations and carefully structured guidance.
Their feedback on written work was particularly impressive. Essays were marked in a detailed, constructive and encouraging way, with very clear advice on how to improve analysis, organisation, use of evidence and sophistication of argument. Over time, we could see a noticeable improvement not only in grades, but also in the maturity and fluency of my son’s writing.
The tutors were also extremely knowledgeable about the specific expectations of the IB programme, including Paper 1, Paper 2 and the Individual Oral, and gave practical strategies that proved invaluable in examinations. Sessions were always well prepared, focused and engaging, and communication with us as parents was excellent throughout.
Perhaps most importantly, they managed to make my son enjoy English again. What had previously been a source of stress became a subject he approached with much more confidence and independence.
