I have no doubt that Heimdal Security is a very efficient security tool, but I`m afraid I found it very difficult to use, compared with your competition. (I now use Norton + Malwarebytes together).
It could well be, that I am not an experienced enough user for this advanced program

I am sorry but I do not leave Trustpilot reviews since they have changed their software and the filters are set too high.
It is important to understand that Trustpilot contact YOUR customers because YOU have advised Trustpilot that these people have purchased a product or service from YOU.
YOUR customers leave reviews in good faith only for Trustpilot to contact YOUR customers for proof of purchase receipts, email, invoices etc.
This is unnecessary as the only reason Trustpilot contact YOUR customers is because YOU have asked them to.
If you have another feedback method, I will happily leave an excellent review for the product and service I have received from your company

It protects some older PCs running Windows 7 still. However, there are some that does not work. On Windows 10 and Windows 11, it works flawlessly. It has clear some of the hard to detect viruses on Windows 7 previously not detected using FREE edition of Ads out there.

I've got an e-mail from my business partner who wants us to discuss about joint venture company.
It included a pdf file for my review, but I couldn't open it because system considered it as phishing e-mail.
I contacted Heimdal Security to solve it and, agile action by Heimdal Security allowed me to open it.

Excellent Antivirus & Great Support, only one issue for me when DarkLayer Guard is enabled other Ad Blocker apps conflict with this, still trying to sort this out.

Support are always quick to repond and are often able to resolve issues first time.

Never signed up to this service, however made its way onto my computer, they were however helpful in removing it. I now receive regular emails, which I have requested to be unsubscribed from, still not happened. Given they are meant to be a security system, it is not great that they cannot comply with the most basic data protection regulations. Not very impressed.

Immediate support by mail answer on my question about possibility to scan the whole computer. New installation of heimdal software was proposed and that was it! Mail by support in one hour, thats great.

I work for an IT Support company and was having problems that turned out to be a Heimdal issue. When i wen to Heimdal to help fix it, I found them very quick to reply & was consistently bugging me to make sure all was ok again. Technical Support was A1.

Heimdal Computer Security appears to provide security protection from sources that most Anti-Virus programs fail to do. I'm saying appear, because Heimdal is very poor at explaining just exactly what they do and how they do it. This is made worse because they use names that are so general they mean close to nothing.
There are 2 Main Components: Foresight & Vigilance

Thor Foresight has these Subcategories such as:

1 Darklayer Guard (I see it blocked some Phishing in my browser (but I still get some it failed to identify)

2 TTPC (Targeted Process shows Firefox.exe - have no idea what this is all about)

3 VectorNDetection (found nothing here, no idea what it does)

4 X-Ploit Resilience (this is simply monitoring updates of various programs such as 7Zip, CCleaner, Zoom etc. which duplicates what my other programs already do -although this includes more programs. Here you have the option of AutoUpdate.

Thor Vigilance - this is mostly Anti-Virus which as expected will not work if you already have an AV program installed, but it does include a Firewall which sadly has an extremely confusing and hard to use Interface.
For example the very first version of ZoneAlarm not only provided excellent protection, but had an incredibly easy to use interface. Here's an example.

For my Home or Office I want to enable all of my devices to talk to each other, so in ZoneAlarm you were able to simply say:
Start 192.168.1.1
End 192.168.1.254

There is no way I see to do this in the Heimdal Firewall, nor can I do this in almost every well known Firewalls (this includes Avast, Comodo, Windows, etc). You need to be a serious Security Expert to understand how to set things up here. Keep in mind that this program is called Heimdal Thor Premium Home.

I'm not even sure whether this Firewall works in addition to the Zone Alarm and other ones that I have on my system. In fact, I added Zone Alarm when there was no other Firewall, other than the one built into Windows.

So, has Heimdal kept my computer(s) really safe ? I'm afraid not. Has it kept out some malicious crap? Possibly, I'm not sure. I don't think any Security Program has kept Rogue Viruses out of any computer, for which there is no excuse, in my opinion.

One certain negative is that Heimdal has flagged more False Positives than any other security program I have ever used. Worse yet, you cannot override it, but must report it to Heimdal, and then they investigate and either replicate and agree or explain why the will keep blocking it. Often, it's some certificate that the web site which is out of date or missing.

Independent test of AV programs rate the AV component of Heimdal fairly low below the top, which is why I keep my Avast as my AV program.
So would I recommend this program to anyone ?
Maybe, but only if you get it at a super sale price, like 70-80% discounted from the regular price.

Why did I give a rating of 4 Stars?
The Thor people are patient and nice. I want to support innovation, and companies other than the gigantic ones, like Norton etc. (which by the way talked on of my customers who got the Norton on her own, into installing a upgrade which slowed her machine down tremendously by being ultra busy. It took 4 tech supports and uninstalling it all to get the crap off.

Why is my opinion worth anything? I've been building and supporting Windows computers since the days of DOS, as well as installing Security programs, and generally making things easy for all of my computer clients for many, many years, so I've learned a thing or two.

Here's are 2 helpful tips:
1 Have someone partition your HD so that C: drive has OS and all programs, and put all of your Data on
D: drive, and if room permits E: for downloads
If the computer expert you want to employ does not already do this, find someone who does. Keep in mind that if you have multiple HD's (or an SSD, and another drive) this may already be working the way it should.

2 Then be sure to have an Image Backup made of your C: drive, and save it on an external backup drive. Window's image backup is really dumb, I recommend Acronis - but you have to know what your are doing, otherwise you can really mess things up.

Superb experience with Heimdal support. They logged on to my PC and sorted all issues. It took very little time and I was able to crack on with my day. Will definitely renew in a couple of months.

Heimdal has stopped multiple Zero Day exploits that ESET did not. We were in a migration, and had both running during the migration. So we got to see the ESET protected computers infected, where the Heimdal protected systems were not!
