Hello Neighbour's tenant find service was a great experience for us as new landlords; we wanted the reassurance of doing things by the book, whilst avoiding renewal fees and other hidden fees.

Victoria Rhoades-Brown, Isabella Frost and Victoria Berry were lovely to deal with, kept us up to date, and were easily contactable for queries and updates. They honestly communicated issues and got both sides of the story eg - when an issue with a reference came up, and were generally helpful. The 3rd parties they use eg. for photos and inventory were also great. Whilst it took us a good few weeks to find the tenants we were happy with, we're really pleaed we waited to get the right fit for us in the end (there was a fair bit of pressure from friends and family to also list with traditional agents during this time - which you can do and is maybe smart -but after researching I didn't really want to and we managed to find tenants we liked before having to). One thing I would recommend if you're a new landlord is to try and meet the tenants / go to the viewings if you can - just to get a sense of the family so it;s easier to make a decision. The first few days is also likely when you get the best offers and so try and move quickly (if you're happy with the offers) rather than spend too long deliberating like we did as we thought we'd have a bit longer to decide. You can also present counter-offers.

The one thing I would suggest is to make sure the offers meet the threshold required for the price. We also declined offers from people with CCJ/ universal credit as this felt a bit too risky to us, being newbies.

Other estate agents we got quotes from had high fees, charged renewal fees if the same tenants stayed for the following yrs (despite it being tenant find only service), and suggested kinda shady tactics like listing it for £250/m below the price we wanted, to get interest and viewings for an open house but then have this 'competition' drive up the price - it seemed both unlikely and unethical to me.

Overall, really happy with the Hello Neighbour experience and would recommend their services.

Initially I was very pleased with Helloneighbour. However starting this summer, they somehow messed up the forwarding of our rent (it goes to three parties as we own the property jointly). I have not received my share in 3 months now. Errors can happen, that's fine, but I have flagged this to them EVERY time it's happened, they then promise to rectify it and it happens AGAIN. Best of all, it takes their finance team TEN days to respond to queries. Bottom line: great when there's no issue, but as soon as there are problems there seem to be ZERO procedures to deal with them efficiently. Do not trust them with your property.

Overall, really good experiences with Hello Neighbour. Russell Dent-Burnett was great to work with, timely replies, answered all my questions, patient. Would most definitely recommend the service through him.

The only constructive feedback was some of the viewing agents etc came late (>30mins - 1 hour) without calling to let us know, and weren't well informed about the place, which wasn't ideal.
However, Russell Dent-Burnett made up for those areas out of his control, because with regards to the organisation of the viewings and rental etc, and the ease of the process, he made the rental experience really smooth overall, so thank you!

He kept me informed every step of the way from listing my property to finding suitable tenants and I found him to be very responsive to all of my queries - if I emailed him, he would always email me back straightaway and this I found extremely reassuring. You will not find a better letting and property management company and at a fraction of the cost of many others. Efficient, friendly and effective. Hello Neighbour found two excellent tenants in two different properties at good rents. Their management software works really well and all matters are dealt without delay and at reasonable costs. I would highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future.

The entire process was seamless with Hello Neighbor! Our Customer Success Coordinator, Rebecca, was very responsive and helped even when we had unusual circumstances.
