Looks/sounds good. sadly
Located in the middle of the West end I never expected this restaurant to be quiet place, in fact it's quite bussly and lively which is a good thing if you're looking for something like that
I booked the terrace which from the pictures seemed to intimate a more quiet area, maybe a roof or outdoor back area, in actual fact the terrace is the public street bar thin barrier. if your looking for something that's going to be a bit more intimate that's not going to happen when you've got all sorts of people walking within 5 inches of your food.
When I showed my surprise at the location of the terrace they immediately moved me inside which was lovely. The decor and the ambiance is quite nice new and fresh
The menu you I think is quite limited especially for someone who is not a vegetarian but is willing to go to a vegetarian restaurant, and even then even I think the menu lacks a depth for vegan's, however we were able to choose something that we felt sounded tasty.
The menu of cocktails is interesting and the way that they describe it is an experience in itself. If you are thinking of just going for cocktails and you wanted to experience something quite unique this is the place I would recommend.
At the time we went it wasn't that busy we can see empty space all over the place, but it still took awhile for our meal to come and to be honest with you it was rather small portions. Because of the small menu choices we chose between starters and mains and asked for everything to be brought together and even then it still felt like everything was a starter.
The food was tasty for what it was and I would give it a 4 out of 5 or 8 out of 10 the presentation was lovely but as I said the amount was sparse.
As soon as the meal came we was constantly being visited by the waiters asking are we ok do we want something more is it something we can get you which was beginning to be quite annoying during the meal itself but as we finished they wanted to take the things away and wanted to hussle us out the door.
By this time the restaurant was less than a third full, barely 12 people in the restaurant.
so I asked the waitress why do you keep asking this question like you need to get us out and she said oh that's what her manager has told her to do.
I have an idea why they wanted to limit our experience inside the restaurant to less than 45 minutes (20 minutes waiting for food), there was Two foreign couples who never got the attention we did, maybe they thought that the least time that people are in the restaurant the less likely that we will be able to contract some covid or whatever but that's contradictory in the large picture.
It definitely brought down the whole experience it and for that reason I wouldn't recommend going to this restaurant if you have a special occasion. This is a walking by afterthought. lovely cocktails on a pass through yeah why not but to actually book it on a special occasion looking to have a special experience definitely not one for that
