Trash company. Makes it hard to login to pay invoices and then slaps you in the face. Not pleasant to deal with.

So, where do I start with Hetzner ?
Maybe that I open a support ticket, and after replying to their first request asking for debug information, I never received any further replies. I chased and I received no replies.
Or maybe the Hotel California situation I find myself in now ?
According to the Hetzner way, to close an account you have to :
1. Remove all services from your account
2. Wait for the next bill
3. Pay the next bill
Ok, that's fair. ***BUT*** I have done 1 + 2 +3 and their stupid online system is *STILL* not letting me delete the account.
What an awful, awful company Hetzner is. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Jesus Christ, the customer support did not answer my queries. I submitted 3 queries for the same questions, none of them were answered. Typical German Customer Service...I even mentioned that if there is any additional charges. I am willing to pay for it

Locked my account because of suspicious activity and won't answer in any channel. Explicitly did not pause my service and still bill me monthly.
Edit: Silly answer (first time I've seen sign of life from Hetzner). They charge me for the service I can't cancel. They don't answer. I have blocked my card so they can't charge me anymore.

I’m disappointed with my recent experience with Hetzner support and billing.
I had an inactive VPS/server that I was no longer using while I was away on holiday. When I attempted to cancel the service, I couldn’t easily find the cancellation option on the dashboard, so I contacted support directly requesting assistance and asking for the subscription to be cancelled.
Unfortunately, it took over a month to receive a response with the cancellation instructions. During that delay, additional charges were processed on my card for a service that had not been used at all.
Once support finally replied, I immediately followed the provided instructions and cancelled the server successfully. I then politely requested a refund for the extra months billed during the support delay. Hetzner declined the refund, stating that the server had remained available for my use and that cancellation is a self-service process documented in their knowledge base.
While I understand policies exist, I believe this situation could have been handled more fairly and with better customer consideration. If a customer reaches out asking for cancellation assistance before additional billing occurs, and support takes an extended period to respond, there should be some flexibility or goodwill offered — especially for unused services.
The infrastructure itself may be good, but this experience left me disappointed with the customer support and billing resolution process.

Excellent first experience with Hetzner.
We recently started migrating our infrastructure and hosted services to Hetzner and the onboarding process has been very professional so far. Their security policies regarding SMTP restrictions are understandable and responsible, and after explaining our legitimate production use case, the support team reviewed and approved our request quickly.
Communication was clear, professional, and efficient. The server performance and overall experience have been very good up to this point, and we are looking forward to moving more services to their platform in the future.

Même pas eu le temps de souscrire un abonnement, que le système demandait des informations très sensibles. Non, il n'y aura pas de transmission de mon passeport chez vous, car dans ces conditions même gratuits vous seriez trop chers.
A jamais.
I didn’t even have time to subscribe to a service before your system started requesting highly sensitive personal information. No, I will not send you my passport. Under these conditions, even free services would be too expensive.
Goodbye forever.

This has been an awful experience. Customer service is basically impossible to contact, my account is closed, yet I am still being charged. There is no clear way to get proper support or stop the payments, which feels completely unacceptable.
A company should not be allowed to keep charging customers after closing or restricting their account. The whole experience has felt dishonest, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company unless they want stress, wasted time, and unexpected charges.

Very poor customer service, at least in English. I was unable to get help by phone because they don't speak English, and my emails were not answered either.

Server send notice that one ssd disk failure and when I send note to Hetzner they change it in next 10 minutes and bring back server online.
As fast as possible they reacted to fix problem.

I've been using Hetzner servers for several months and they are BY FAR the best price/quality ratio.
Super easy to set up or rescale servers, good UI.
Only downside so far is poor console.
Customer service is also great

I am writing this review to share my full experience with Hetzner, in detail, so that other customers understand exactly what happened and why I am extremely dissatisfied with their billing system.
On 02/04/2026 at 07:26, I made an international payment to Hetzner using my Visa card ending with 5082.
The amount charged was 42.24 USD, which is approximately 158.59 SAR, plus 3.17 SAR in fees, for a total of 161.76 SAR.
This payment was for the usage fee of a dedicated server that I had already used for a short period.
Right after that, I canceled the server because I no longer needed it.
From that moment on:
• I had no active services with Hetzner.
• I did not order any new server.
• I did not generate any new usage.
• I considered the matter fully closed, since I had paid for what I used.
Then, 35 days later, on 06/05/2026, I suddenly received an email from Hetzner’s accounting department with a new invoice:
• Invoice number: 060000008912
• Amount: $3.06
• Description: Dedicated Server (04/2026), including “Primary IPv4” and “Server Auction” for 22 hours of usage.
According to the invoice, this amount would be debited from my credit card.
From my perspective as a customer, this is completely unacceptable for several reasons:
1. The usage was already paid in full.
I had already paid a much higher amount (42.24 USD) for the server usage and related fees.
There was no new usage after the cancellation, and no new service was ordered.
2. The invoice was issued 35 days after payment and cancellation.
If there was any remaining amount or adjustment, it should have been billed immediately, not more than a month later.
Delayed billing like this creates confusion and makes the customer feel like they are being charged again for something that was already settled.
3. The communication is unclear and confusing.
The email simply says that the invoice is attached and that the amount will be debited from my credit card.
There is no clear explanation of why this amount appears now, after such a long time, and after I had already paid and canceled the service.
4. From the customer’s point of view, I did everything correctly.• I used the service.
• I paid the usage fee.
• I canceled the server.
• I did not use any additional resources.
So I should not be surprised with a new invoice after 35 days.
I understand that companies may have internal accounting rules, minimum invoice amounts, or date changes in their billing system.
However, these internal changes are not the customer’s fault, and they should not result in confusing extra invoices long after payment and cancellation.
To be very clear:
I am not trying to avoid paying for something I actually used.
I already paid for my usage, in full, on 02/04/2026.
What I object to is:
• Receiving a new invoice 35 days later
• For a period that was already covered
• With the message that it “will be debited” from my card
• While I have no active services and no new usage
This experience has made me lose trust in Hetzner’s billing system.
Billing should be:
• Clear
• Immediate
• Transparent
• And aligned with the customer’s actual usage and timeline
Instead, I ended up with:
• A payment made on 02/04/2026
• A cancellation right after usage
• Then a surprise invoice on 06/05/2026 for $3.06
• And the threat that it will be charged to my card, even though I already paid and have no active services.
I hope Hetzner seriously reviews and improves their accounting and invoicing processes so that other customers do not go through the same confusing and frustrating experience.
From my side, I am very clear:
I paid, I canceled, I did not use anything after that, and I do not accept being billed again for the same period more than a month later.

I finally got my account verified, but the sign-up process wasn't great which is understandable based on my location.
The automated system failed for no clear reason, requiring a manual explanation for basic identification.

We’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Hetzner’s hardware reliability and support.
Out of nowhere, our server went completely down, and we were informed that both drives had failed simultaneously and were no longer recognized by the system. This immediately resulted in full data loss — something that is simply unacceptable for production environments. There was no warning, no redundancy from their side, and no proactive monitoring that could have prevented this situation.
What’s even more disappointing is the response from support. Instead of offering a recovery solution or any meaningful assistance, we were basically told to “accept the full data loss” so they could replace the drives. That’s not support — that’s just handing the problem back to the client.
When you rely on infrastructure, you expect stability, reliability, and at the very least a safety net. In this case, the hardware failure alone is bad enough, but the lack of accountability and recovery options makes it far worse.
This incident has cost us significant time, money, and trust. If you’re running anything business-critical, think twice before depending on this setup without your own extensive backups and failover systems in place.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
After paying my final invoice, I attempted to deactivate my account, but the app deliberately blocked the process. When I contacted support, I was told I had to wait another month and pay again before I’d be allowed to cancel.
This is not just bad design — it’s a clear pattern of trapping users in a forced billing loop. You are essentially prevented from terminating the service without incurring additional charges.
Despite complying with their instructions, they continue to issue invoices. This behavior is deceptive, unacceptable, and raises serious concerns about their billing practices.
Avoid at all costs.

Got charged an invoice of $46 first month fine I had 3 servers they suspended the others one, I’m a reseller and they wouldn’t hear me out. Those 2 servers gone my next invoice was $52 I figured I probably missed a payment. Paid that. Now a week later I have an invoice of $84 for no reason. Which of course they almost took. Verified both previous payment went through their charging me $84 for a $7 sever. Stay away at all cost this behavior is extremely predatory
