System would not accept my new card details

Yet another phone call to update my card information on my Instant Ink account which did not work ! I was on the phone for nearly an hour trying all sorts of things to no success. One attempt failed as the colleague could not proceed as her process would not work on my Apple laptop !
If something is not done soon my account will be in jeopardy due to failed payments.
I suggested that I give her my card information to update on my behalf but she wouldn't agree to that.

You Have To Pay For Real Customer Service!

To get customer service you either have a pathetic "bot" or you have to pay.... I've just changed broadband supplier and want to make sure my printer is configured to the new network. All the other devices in my home have been done without any problems but the printer.... You'd think it would be simple wouldn't you but no. The "bot" only wants you to try to connect to the old network. If you request real assistance you are directed to a pay site to receive real people customer service. Who else does that? It is hardly service is it?

Absolutely horrendous Customer Service

Absolutely horrendous Customer Service. I contacted Customer Support via WhatsApp as instructed via the Virtual Assistant on 8th April 2026 @ 16:46. I got no answer until 19:24 that evening saying they would be in contact in the morning. At 15:35 on 9th April I had an email saying did I still need help, which obviously I did because nobody had responded. I responded at 15:40, again no answer. I have now been waiting 24 hours and it doesn’t look like anyone can be bothered to respond. I have been an Instant Ink subscriber for 8 years. I have now cancelled my Instant Ink subscription and will be getting rid of my HP printer and buying a different brand. HP don’t deserve business as they clearly don’t care their customers. I’ve also asked for a refund of this months subscription charge, which also has received no reply. HP, wake up and read your horrific reviews, you won’t last in business if this is your attitude to long standing customers.

I had an instant ink subscription for a Laserjet 4202

I had an instant ink subscription for a printer which was replaced under warranty. As instructed, I kept the toner cartridges but they didn't work on the replacement. Apparently HP had stopped new instant ink subscriptions for this model, though existing ones were supposed to carry on, and this replacement counts as a new printer (despite being a refurbished machine) so none of the old cartridges would work. I wasn't warned about this and was told I had to buy a whole new set of cartridges at my expense. When I tried to sort this with HP support, they kept hanging up on me.

Laptop nightmare

Purchased a laptop. It arrived with a keyboard misfunction. After numerous phone calls, HP finally agreed that it was 'DOA' (their term not mine). Returned said laptop and was advised a replacement would be sent. this took more than two weeks. Guess what? It arrived and EXACTLY the same issue. Went through numerous painful calls to technical and customer services. They asked if I wanted a replacement (how stupid do they think I am?). Requested refund. Said refund took three weeks, with again numerous calls to try and find out how long it would take. Technical were actually OK but customer support appalling, barely an apology for the entire fiasco.

This company is determined to avoid a refund

I've contacted HP several times to try and get a refund for a printer cartridge that does not work. They pass you around the organisation if you phone, but no one knows the answer. If you contact their website they ask you to contact the troubleshooting assistant, who is very limited and can only respond to simple requests. Drawn a blank. They do not respond to emails.

Hewlett Packard - lack of customer support

I bought online a webcam from HP. It didn't work with my Chromebook. It appeared to be incompatible. HP refused to take it back.
I tried to email them to complain, but it's only possible to communicate with a bot.
I was charged 1 pound to get an answer from them. Another bot appeared, and said to fix the problem would cost me 22 pounds!

Giving 1 star cos I can't give zero

Giving 1 star cos I can't give zero. I bought a desktop printer and after printing approx 12 pages in colour and <50 in B&W it's out of ink ! And I have to tie myself into a subscription service to get more. Oh, and don't bother trying to get help - their product support is simply appalling - voice recognition that doesn't and the call back service is 'temporarily unavailable, try again later'. Really ?

You aren't really buying a printer from…

You aren't really buying a printer from HP, more like leasing it on ridiculous terms. The printer itself is permanently going wrong - drops offline, takes an age to go back online, only prints bits of what you ask into print, stops printing if it's less than full to the brim with paper. The apps are appalling, they mainly don't work or redirect you to the website the whole time which defeats the object of them even having an app. Then of course they brick your printer if you don't buy their ink which you can either do at a stupidly inflated price or through their instant ink sub - which in itself is pointless as they only send ink when you've run out, not when the cartridges have dried up. So unless you're printing continuously you're just sending them money for cartridges you'll never get. Horrible company.

All I am trying to do is buy an upgrade…

All I am trying to do is buy an upgrade computer. Left hanging on the sales line, unhelpful with configuration confirmation, don't reply, then prices go up while I wait.
A very very long term HP customer. Disappointing to see it go this way.

Reliable to Fail

Reliable to Fail. My 6000 series printer NEVER works first time. Always takes an hour or so the get running.
WORST printer I have ever had. Avoid like the plague.

Ordered the HP Omnistudio X

Ordered the HP Omnistudio X, delivery guaranteed within 1 to 2 days. Already had a HP account with correct information yet the delivery note neglected house name/number and computer is stuck in the Royal Mail Hub wondering where to go. Contacting customer support was a nightmare. I got cut off on the "online chat" then further cut off on the telephone. I was advised to "cancel the order" and wait 5 to 7 days for payment to be reimbursed before ordering again. Over £2k is a significant amount of money and no other solution was forthcoming. I have a HP Envy AIO 32" and a HP Pavillion laptop 17" but this non caring attitude by HP sales/support staff is too much for me to continue with this brand. I have totally lost confidence, there was no proper ownership of this other than "cancel and wait 5 to 7 days". That is absolutely appalling. Wondering what Dell are like as my next company of choice.
