Custom Tour
We arranged for Hidden gams tours to do a customised tour for us. First was three days in Bangalore; I’d wanted to see St Mary’s Basilica, the Iskon Temple, the waterfalls outside Bangalore by the Hydro electric power plant and the Bannaghatta national park. Each day was very flexible based on the conversation. Day 1 we started with the Iskon temple. My guide, Parveen, had a lifetime pass so we were able to avoid the queues and get right to the front. It was a fascinating place to visit, and we then had lunch in one of the two restaurants there. The afternoon was spent looking at several churches in the area, including one Winston Churchill had attended. Day 2 we drove out of the city, stopping on the way at one of the early morning flower markets. We then stopped at a charming Hindu temple before arriving at the first of the two waterfalls. These are better seen September to January, after the rains, but were still worth seeing. At the second we were joined by a bonnets macaque, and after seeing the waterfall, had lunch in the restaurant at the top. On the last day we drove out to the National park. We first had breakfast, and then joined those staying in the lodges for a safari through the enclosures where they had rescued wildlife, including leopards, tigers and lions. We then went fo the butterfly house and park before touring the zoo. We then had lunch back at the safari lodges. It was a great tour and very flexible based- and it was great to explore some of the things local people would visit.
