Robbed-charged twice and refusing to give money back

My family booked a stay on 21st November as a Christmas present for the Liverpool central hotel. They have had nothing but trouble since the booking has been made. Charged twice for 1 room costing nearly £600 as a result of it! Been told twice the money will be refunded and this has still not happened (26th December). Left on hold for 40 minutes, hung up on several times. Directed to a manager for the line to be cut off 4 times. Staff are extremely rude and still not resolved. Staff on a 2 hour break not returning calls. After being told by a manager it had been refunded on the 26th December, I was told by the manager that he had done me a favour. Laughable, a favour… returning stolen money that was not authorised to be taken, but then for it still not to be returned. Are management at the Liverpool Central hotel running some sort of scam and pocketing customers money? Do not book with this hotel brand. Absolutely shocking. Will be taking them to the small claims courts. IHG you should be ashamed of yourselves robbing people and then refusing to put it right! Passing people from one person to another intentionally so it never gets resolved. Well unfortunately for your company, this will not go away no matter how much you try to pass the book. All calls are recorded on your side, have them ready won’t you. I will certainly be recording all future correspondence for court just so you are aware

Holiday Inn Express London Sutton

I booked an accessible room as I have a disabled wife who is unable to walk. I had stayed at the HIE in Poole which I rated very well, fine clean bedroom with good sheeting, excellent wet room bathroom which was ideal for my wife.

The stay last weekend at the HIE at London Sutton was a disaster. Large bedroom with an incredibly small double bed. On entering the ensuite bathroom, fully expecting to see a wet room, I faced with a bath which was no use whatsoever for my wife. Went to reception thinking they had allocated the wrong room, only to be told this was the accessible, no wet rooms at all. So if you are wanting a wet room environment this is not the hotel for you. We had no option other to stay and except what we had, I was given a totally refund the following morning. We will not be going back.

Highly recommend Holiday Inn Express at Southampton

Whenever we go on a Cruise, we book the Holiday Inn Express at Southampton. It is perfectly located to access the ports and is a really lovely hotel. Today's visit has been perfect as always. Really nice welcome from Gemma on reception, so friendly and happy to help. We asked for a ground floor room and this was provided no problem. Nice room, comfy bed and soft towels. Good food in the restaurant, tasty pizza and chicken. Another lovely stay, thanks Gemma!

Booked a double/twin room at the Holiday Inn Express in Chester, we got a twin room, when I asked reception to change us to a double, they said 'can I refer you to our terms and conditions' basically we don't care and you'll get what you're given, you've already paid and we've got your money'
Breakfast was OK though.

Disgusted and Repulsed

Service was appalling. Staff were very demotivated, almost like they didn’t want to serve their customers. Food was horrible, not to mention the small amount choices they had. Bed sheets had visible human excrement on them. Lifts are faulty. Parking is far away. A lot of the chargers don’t work in the entire building (all the ones in our room + the ones in our lobby). Area is rough, anyone can come in when they want without a reservation and mess around in the building.

An awful night

The breakfast was quite good! However, the rest of the experience was pretty awful. Sited in the middle of extensive roadworks in Harlow, having to park in a paid public car park, the lack of hot water in the hotel ( we were not told on arrival) and the total lack of response from Management even when asked subsequently to complete a report form. We could apparently have had a 20% refund for the freezing shower BUT we had made the terrible mistake of booking through Bookings.com. Have you ever tried contacting them? Incidentally the double bed was the absolute minimum with an even more minimal duvet which my husband and I fought over all night. Who in earth would want to repeat such an experience? Appalling customer relations apart from a really lousy stay.

Not clean

We have Stayed several times first time was fine room was very clean stayed there again got a room for disability didn't realize that when booking so was around floor we was going straight out so dropped stuff off and went noticed room had a weird smell but didn't take a lot of notice as rushing arrived back to room at 12.30
Mattress very very uncomfortable I kept rolling as it dipped in middle didn't get much sleep tried to sit in chair and nod off but also uncomfortable had a shower see if could ease my back luckily my partner had aspirin on him so took some I tried to lay on the floor as hard for my back but floor stunk so sat in chair again
On leaving told receptionist who didn't much care said the room had a dog in there someone had been living there for two weeks the floor might not have been cleaned properly and the mattress might need renewing
This is disgusting not even a sorry I am totally shocked as we walked to our car you can see yes there are people living in rooms on the ground floor
Then these rooms should be deep cleaned thoroughly especially as animals living there and inspected to a higher standard in the morning I opened the curtains to see the floor
I also took pictures of the carpet and u can see the stains

Noisy Air Con and Parking Issues

Holiday Inn Express Filton. There was no way of turning off the noisy air conditioning without removing the keycard from the holder, even with the fan set to zero. meaning you need a torch to get back to your bed without having to feel your way there. Make sure you take a screenshot when paying for parking. I had to appeal PCN.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

Las Cruces, NM. DO NOT STAY here if you can help it at all. The Econolodge next door might be a better choice. My business partner and I stayed here for one night. We had let them know we needed a first floor (due to injury) They refused and said the Hotel is being remodeled. We were put on the 3rd floor at the furthest end.

Upon getting to the room walking down the Hallway with the filthiest carpet and scratches all over wall's GROSS We went into the room which was disgusting. Our Hot water in shower did not get hot just warm and the drain didn’t hold water. I tried to call front desk but the phone did not work!!! I called hotel in my cell and was told the handles needed to be turned backwards for hot as they reversed the water lines? WTH finally after an hour of messing with handle iit got hot. The carpet in the room was black no padding and the walls were sickening with dirt from 20 years ago and gouges in the walls scratches SEE PHOTOS!!!

I was VIP for years and have exclusively stayed at Holday Express I have stayed over 400 nights over the past many years, yes 400 Holday Expresses and this is the first I have complained.

I forgot about the train at 2 am barreling through!

When we expressed our concerns all we got back from front desk was “We are being remodelled.”

If anyone has Coroorate Headquarters number please reply

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Is Holiday Inn Express honest?

I booked a hotel room with Holiday Inn Express, Stockport. The cost was £75 or so I thought. I was eventually billed for £110. The explanation was for "Tax recovery charges and Service Fees".

In addition the Reservation Centre charged me £9.60

The website is not honest and does not explain charges. Charging in US dollars is not useful.

I booked with Holiday Express Inn as…

I booked with Holiday Express Inn as the price was extremely competitive and it's dog friendly, as we need to bring our labrador with us. However there is no mention on site that there is a charge for a dog, although I would expect one to be about £10-£15per night, but Holiday Inn Express charge a whopping £25! So now I have to look elsewhere. It's disgusting that they do not mention this charge when they accept the booking.

Stayed at this hotel 2 different…

Stayed at this hotel 2 different reservations about a week apart. I have never seen a hotel hold incidentals on your card for over a week. You clean the room the day I check out and see that everything is good with the room the way it is supposed to be and hold the money still on the card. This is also one of the hotels that attracts rude clientele and the guests think it's an all night playground and can do whatever they want to keep other guests awake. Also.. do not tell guests that third party sites exclude the taxes and fees of the hotel because either you the hotel or the third party site is robbing the customer. Your hotel invoice that accidentally got out to me doesn't match the price I was charged by the third party and you showed me a chart saying the hotel excludes taxes and fees for the third party booking. Neither the hotel or the third party wants to say anything is wrong. I am done with Holiday Inn. They used to be a good hotel years ago but now it seems their rates are very erratic and high for the experience there.

One or two things following our visit…

One or two things following our visit to NEC, Birmingham. Air con in room didn't work so very cold ( one of our parry had same issue in their room). Very helpful and cheerful receptionist, Andy, left heater in room for our return. However,
one foot on it was broken and fell off so had to prop it up. No power sockets on headboard end which was a problem for my CPAP machine. Had to sleep back to front. Woke with number of serious bites which have continued for a number of days. Sadly, our visit coincided with that of a family of sweatpant/hoodie wearing foul mouthed heavy drinking slobs which tainted the hour we spent in the bar. Also, they are very frugal with the in room tea/coffee/sugar allowing just ine drink each. Apart from the above, the staff were extremely professional and polite given the circumstances and breakfast albeit standard fare was plentiful and lovely. Sadly we wouldn't consider a return.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, beware of the cost of.drinks

Absolutely beautiful hotel just outside of Coventry!! Room was spotless and due to mobility issues, we were out within a 2 minute walk of the lift. Really friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us and went out of their way to ensure two women with food allergies were accommodated.
The only downside was there wasn't a great deal of variety in the meals, the cost of drinks was ridiculous and a couple of the breakfast items were cold.. but on a buffet you takes ya chances and it wasn't the staffs fault.

We stayed at the holiday Inn express…

We stayed at the holiday Inn express Trafford in Manchesta. This is the second time we have stayed there and the second time we have had problems my partner paid for the room on her personal card and I paid the £50 security deposit on my card then I noticed they are taken two full payments on my card for the amount of £205 and £159 which was meant to have been a £50 security deposit is disgusting that they can take that money I didn’t even put my pin in and the exact same thing happened one year prior we thought we would give the company a second chance. When we asked to speak to Manager The manager was not available. We dealt with our young lady who was polite but clearly out of her depth and her words were literally speak to the bank. They didn’t want to know as a company. I would avoid this and if you have stayed at this branch I would certainly look at your bank statement to make sure this hasn’t happened to you.!!!!

Cold and uncomfortable

Corby Rockingham Forest hotel has been sold and the new owners are trying to up grade it. They have thown our all the duvets and bought new bedding. There wasn't a single spare duvet and no soft pillows. My nights were very very cold and uncomfortable in these sparce beds. They definatly don't deserve to be upgraded!
