Bought a healthopaedic Tencel 1000 from JSB Furniture

Bought a healthopaedic Tencel 1000 from JSB Furniture in July 23 and reported the mattress had dips forming in it, in September 23. I was told the manufacturer was highgate beds. After having to have a report done the mattress was replaced approx January 2024 by the manufacturer, In March this year noticed that the side of the mattress was bulging out and reported to JSB, they have come back to me today to say the manufacturer (Highgate Beds Ltd) want me to pay £135 to replace the mattress because it is over 12 months old. I have spoken to Highgate and they have Confirmed that the information I have been given is correct and that there is only a 1 year guarantee, Buyer beware! I am not prepared to give them anymore money and will buy a mattress elsewhere with a proper guarantee. Apparently the usual guarantee is between 5 to 10 years.

Apalling customer care

Unfortunately my story reflects the other comments here. Our £1600 mattress fabric started to split after just 2 years use, but the retailer had gone out of business. I therefore contacted Highgate Beds direct and I have never been spoken to by any business like it. The 'transport manager' (refused to provide name) was rude, arrogant, patronising, aggressive, disinterested and did the South Asian business community a disservice. Despite being told I would receive a call back more than 2 weeks ago, I have heard nothing, which is exactly what I expected.
Citizens Advice have confirmed my consumer rights but I have no intention of dealing with Highgate ever again - even to exercise my rights. Avoid them and their brand Healthopaedic at all costs

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
Further to Steven Machin's review. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THIS COMPANY'S MATRESSES!!! My wife and I purchased one of their matresses less than two years ago form a retailer in Darlington that ceased trading a year or so ago. It clearly states on the matress that it comes with a 5 year warranty. I've been chasing Highgate for 3 weeks now and today I have finally had an answer from them. "The matress only has a 1 year warranty and their contract of purchase is with the company we purchased it from - not us!!" I have spoken with the National Bed Federation - who Highgate are a member of - and they have stated that this matress has a 'MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY'. To be frank, their attitude towards my complaint stunk and leaves a lot to be desired. So now it's a case of pursuing what we are entitled to under the consumer rights act of 2015.

On the 15th May 2016

On the 15th May 2016, my wife and I bought a custom made bed and matress (6ft wide x 7ft long) at a cost of £1875.00.

After three years the matress developed a large ridge down the middle, which is evident even if the matress is turned. The matress is now uncomfortable to sleep on and having spent almost £2000 on the bed feel that this should not be happening to a superior matress design such as the Highgate Pocket 2000.

I have contacted Highgate this morning and informed them of the ridge in the matress, who did reply but enforced their statutory 12 month guaruntee, where as others manufacturers offer a 5 or 10 year guarantee.

I would suggest if you are looking to buy a matress that will last more than three years, choose a supplier who offer a longer guaruntee and has better customer service.
