Made from 100% Saxony lambswool, which is resilient, warm, and oh-so-soft, it has an enlarged grey Dumfries House Tweed design and is made with a seamless blend of traditional craft skills and modern technology. The Dumfries House Tweed throw, with fringed edging, is exclusive to Highgrove and features a sewn-on Highgrove label.
The idea of the Dumfries House Tweed came about when His Majesty The King visited several manufacturers in Hawick, Scotland and was greatly enamoured with the number and variety of Regimental and Estate tweeds produced by one company, Lovat Mill. It resulted in a project to collaborate on a bespoke design for HRH to wear exclusively, but which has since been adapted by Highgrove for use on a variety of homeware and textiles.
