Having travelled around the world quite a lot, I have been on many private and small group tours, but our time with “Highland Guided Tours” is definitely among my favourite experiences.

We went on several day trips (Isle of Skye, Loch Ness and Top of The Highlands) and every day was special and thrilling. We visited many beautiful natural spots as well as historic places (castles and Culloden Battlefield). My personal favourite was Top of The Highlands trip all the way to the northernmost point of mainland Scotland.

Tony was my initial point of contact when organising the trip. He answered promptly and efficiently to all my queries, so right from the start I knew that we will be taken care of and that this experience will run seamlessly.

We spent our tour days with John. It’s a great pleasure to experience a place under the guidance of someone who lives there, who knows and loves it, and who can tell you a lot about anything from nature and history to facts about day-to-day life and interesting stories.

Comfortable cars, attention to detail, flexibility and experiences tailored to your preferences.
Definitely recommend for the best experience of Scotland!

Had a great day around Loch Ness and Inverness, we also visited Culloden Battlefield which our guide walked with us telling us the history which was invaluable as the battlefield doesn't tell you much. Highly recommend and would definitely book again.

Words can’t describe how great this tour was. John may be the best tour guide we ever had! The day included so much variety; scenic overlooks, waterfalls, Dunrobin castle, an incredible falconry show, Durnloch cathedral and a walk through town, with a lunch at a local restaurant. A quick visit to the Royal Durnloch golf course and a hike to a gorge where some of Harry Potter was filmed. At one point we had casually mentioned my wife’s sister in law was a Munro, ( same last name as our tour guide) , and as a complete surprise, not a planned part of the tour at all, John parked his van in a field in front of the the ancestral castle of the Munro’s and treated us to a whiskey and gin tasting along with a wide variety of Scottish sweets! If we could give 10 stars we would! Don’t hesitate just book with them and they do private tours also.

This company was amazing! On less than 1 day’s notice they pulled together a full day of distilleries, the cooperage, tastings, a castle, Highland coos, and more. Johnny tailored the tour to us, made it fun and informative, and we always felt safe and comfortable. The vehicle was spotless, snacks were a nice touch. I absolutely recommend!

What an amazing day from the time we were met at our cruise ship until we returned! Tony was so knowledgeable and we greatly appreciated the wealth of information he shared with us regarding the history in the area and Scotland in general. Stopped to pick up lunch from Lettuce Eat Sandwich Shop and the food was so good and very affordable. Got to see so many wonderful places and Cawdor Castle was a highlight among the many we visted. The last stop and view were exceptional along with the special touches Tony added at this stop (and along the way). He went out of his way to ensure we had an experience to remember. Really appreciated everything!! We would highly recommend Highland Guided Tours if you are looking for a great touring experience.

This tour was genuinely a highlight of our vacation! Tony took great care of us on the front end, including a phone call when I had a question about booking. It truly made my mind up about booking with them over other operators! Johnny was awesome as our tour guide! He even accommodated us when we showed up early. He made sure we had great info about the area and got to see all the sites and then some! We absolutely loved our time on this tour and would highly recommend it to others. You won’t be disappointed in booking with them!!

We just finished our day tour with the nicest guy. We had a wonderful time visiting all of the beautiful sites and historic places. Johnny went out of his way to make our group feel welcome and he made it a memorable day with his bonus features. He was very knowledgeable and we loved hearing about each of the places we visited. He was even able to accommodate a last minute increase in group size. I highly recommend Highland Guided Tours.

ony and John Munro were so kind to our large group. They also took us on last minute, and they were able to use their connections to get us into tours and tastings on Sunday. Their vehicles were so comfortable and their advice was sage. They were so kind to share some treats from their family business at the end. Highly recommend!

This was definitely the best tour I’ve done anywhere!! Tony was a wealth of knowledge in regards to history, modern day , and future goals for his country. My husband and I did the Isle of Skye private tour and I just can’t say enough how fantastic it was. Tony made us very comfortable, was aware of our interests and made sure we had the best experiences at the destinations we arrived at. I highly recommend Highland Guided Tours and if we visit Scotland again I will would love to do more tours with Tony.

Tony was an excellent guide who gave us a day much better than we could have dreamt of! Culloden, Clava Cairns, Loch Ness, Cawdor castle and gin destillery! Tony was an amazing storyteller and we are so happy with the day.

Tony and John our tour guides were fantastic. We took almost all the tours they offer and also 2 transfers. They go above and beyond at each of their tours to make sure you get the Scottish experience. They are from the Highlands so they are knowledgeable about the area, Scottish history, culture and fun and fascinating facts/stories. We loved each tour and individualized them for our group. I cannot say enough good things about Tony and John as well as the tours they offer.
