Indian Philosophy with Sadhu Sri
Learning philosophy with Sadhu Ji is fun as he decodes the yoga sutras and most often, the classes are filled with laughters and it’s truly enjoyable to attend this classes. I would continue reading Yoga Sutras!
Anatomy and Ayurveda class with Neha
Neha is a sweetheart teacher who always wear a smile and have deep understanding on Ayurveda. Learning Ayurveda from Neha was refreshing as it was something new to me and there is a whole wide world of Ayurveda that I would love to explore.
Alignment & Ashtanga with Prashant
It didn’t take long to establish a fundamental trust and basic teacher-student relationship with Prashant ji. Thanks to his active communication with his fellow students. His teaching cues are clear and excellent, he often makes eye contact with his classmates, which truly enhances the class's engaging and fun atmosphere.
I have noticed significant improvement in my hamstring, an issue I’ve struggled with for years. I appreciate how Prashant Ji uses props and incorporates creative and fun teaching methods, such as using a stack of blocks for the back bend exercise. It was during one of his back bend classes that I realized my spine is my strength, as is the spinal twist. This revelation means a lot to me!
Ashtanga classes were brilliant. I am grateful for Prashant ji’s subtle adjustments that have proven effective, like helping me bind my hands for pasasana (a new pose for me). I also admire his gentle encouragement to push asanas while prioritizing safety for both the practitioner and himself. This has significantly improved my practice.
And what is a class without laughter and fun? I always look forward to the 5:30-7:30 pm alignment/Ashtanga class. He often engage in lighthearted, fun, and motivating conversations at the beginning of each class.
He exudes a loving energy that creates a safe, enjoyable, and supportive class environment. It's always wonderful to feel energized after an Ashtanga class, and Prashant Ji never fails to put a smile on our faces at the end of each class!
Shatkarma, Pranayama, Meditation & Hatha with Deepak
I always look forward to starting my day doing the Shatkarma before pranayama class. Thanks to Deepak’s clear instructions for Shatkarma, it has been useful and quite straightforward.
Pranayama classes are amazing. I appreciate Deepak Ji’s observations on the students whenever a minor adjustment to the practice is required during the practice.
Being a consistent meditation practitioner prior to coming to Deepak’s class, I have thoroughly enjoyed his classes for his clear cues and PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE and the variety of the meditation practices that I was able to explore. The last class during the meditation was truly SPECIAL with 200 Hour students as we saw you smile and laughed so much. LOL.
The warm-up in Deepak’s Hatha class is challenging! While the warm-ups aren't easy, with a little mental preparation prior to each class would help immensely to get in tune with his pace. In my humble opinion, the sequence of the warm-up is designed to put you in a FLOW STATE that makes you hyper-focused, resilient, and very determined. As a result, this has helped me to improve my resilience, physical strength, and willpower, EXACTLY what I needed.
There were times when Deepak Ji teaches something new and I would be mentally saying to myself, “There’s no way I can do that.” And then he come stood next to you and says the magic word, “Chalo!” and guides you to achieve that asana with hands-on assistance (while ensuring the safety of the students). It’s truly awe-inspiring. I was awestruck by my spinal twist & back bend progress. Thank you so much, Deepak ji!
I am also appreciative of the subtle adjustment done on my asanas and its proven to be effective. I.e: A subtle adjustment on the position of my feet during a mountain pose.
His CREATIVE teaching methods are highly commendable, using the stick/wall for our back bend practice, is inspiring.
While he is a strict teacher, he also knows when to be FLEXIBLE with the students when necessary which is a great quality of being a teacher. He also knows when to be funny and laugh haha :D
Being on the other side as a student, it seems to me that Prashant and Deepak’s classes complement each other, one in the morning, one in the evening. It feels like Yin and Yang.
Truly an asset of HYA!
Best wishes HYA!
