Indian Philosophy with Sadhu Sri

Learning philosophy with Sadhu Ji is fun as he decodes the yoga sutras and most often, the classes are filled with laughters and it’s truly enjoyable to attend this classes. I would continue reading Yoga Sutras!

Anatomy and Ayurveda class with Neha

Neha is a sweetheart teacher who always wear a smile and have deep understanding on Ayurveda. Learning Ayurveda from Neha was refreshing as it was something new to me and there is a whole wide world of Ayurveda that I would love to explore.

Alignment & Ashtanga with Prashant

It didn’t take long to establish a fundamental trust and basic teacher-student relationship with Prashant ji. Thanks to his active communication with his fellow students. His teaching cues are clear and excellent, he often makes eye contact with his classmates, which truly enhances the class's engaging and fun atmosphere.

I have noticed significant improvement in my hamstring, an issue I’ve struggled with for years. I appreciate how Prashant Ji uses props and incorporates creative and fun teaching methods, such as using a stack of blocks for the back bend exercise. It was during one of his back bend classes that I realized my spine is my strength, as is the spinal twist. This revelation means a lot to me!

Ashtanga classes were brilliant. I am grateful for Prashant ji’s subtle adjustments that have proven effective, like helping me bind my hands for pasasana (a new pose for me). I also admire his gentle encouragement to push asanas while prioritizing safety for both the practitioner and himself. This has significantly improved my practice.

And what is a class without laughter and fun? I always look forward to the 5:30-7:30 pm alignment/Ashtanga class. He often engage in lighthearted, fun, and motivating conversations at the beginning of each class.

He exudes a loving energy that creates a safe, enjoyable, and supportive class environment. It's always wonderful to feel energized after an Ashtanga class, and Prashant Ji never fails to put a smile on our faces at the end of each class!

Shatkarma, Pranayama, Meditation & Hatha with Deepak

I always look forward to starting my day doing the Shatkarma before pranayama class. Thanks to Deepak’s clear instructions for Shatkarma, it has been useful and quite straightforward.

Pranayama classes are amazing. I appreciate Deepak Ji’s observations on the students whenever a minor adjustment to the practice is required during the practice.

Being a consistent meditation practitioner prior to coming to Deepak’s class, I have thoroughly enjoyed his classes for his clear cues and PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE and the variety of the meditation practices that I was able to explore. The last class during the meditation was truly SPECIAL with 200 Hour students as we saw you smile and laughed so much. LOL.

The warm-up in Deepak’s Hatha class is challenging! While the warm-ups aren't easy, with a little mental preparation prior to each class would help immensely to get in tune with his pace. In my humble opinion, the sequence of the warm-up is designed to put you in a FLOW STATE that makes you hyper-focused, resilient, and very determined. As a result, this has helped me to improve my resilience, physical strength, and willpower, EXACTLY what I needed.

There were times when Deepak Ji teaches something new and I would be mentally saying to myself, “There’s no way I can do that.” And then he come stood next to you and says the magic word, “Chalo!” and guides you to achieve that asana with hands-on assistance (while ensuring the safety of the students). It’s truly awe-inspiring. I was awestruck by my spinal twist & back bend progress. Thank you so much, Deepak ji!

I am also appreciative of the subtle adjustment done on my asanas and its proven to be effective. I.e: A subtle adjustment on the position of my feet during a mountain pose.

His CREATIVE teaching methods are highly commendable, using the stick/wall for our back bend practice, is inspiring.

While he is a strict teacher, he also knows when to be FLEXIBLE with the students when necessary which is a great quality of being a teacher. He also knows when to be funny and laugh haha :D

Being on the other side as a student, it seems to me that Prashant and Deepak’s classes complement each other, one in the morning, one in the evening. It feels like Yin and Yang.

Truly an asset of HYA!

Best wishes HYA!

Thieves,

These people are simply bunch of theives who only care about money. The are the most rude people ever to communicate with. Once you pay them, you will end up chasing. Their main focus os to get money out of people by any means. And if you try to question them they will turn into monsters.

Fake review, we never received a student with this name. Unfortunately, this kind of reviews are done by other yoga schools who see us as their competitor.

Best yoga school in Rishikesh, India

This school is like another world once you start living, full of positive energy and so bright! I've never met so many real people at the same place in my life. Everyone is super nice and helpful, the staff there all seemed like loving working there and that was giving such a great energy all the time. I took 8 days retreat so I got to do hatha and ashtanga yoga, yogic breathing and meditation class, it was super interesting and full of fun new learnings! Even though I didn't have much knowledge or experience in yoga before, the teachers all made sure I was having a good time in the class, I really appreciate it. This school got me interested in yoga in another level, think I gotta go on this path! Thanks so much to all these awesome people and experiences.

excellent online training

I finished a 100h online YTT at the Himalayan Yoga Association.
I have only good things to say about them and the training. It is very complete for an online training with daily live practices and video lectures with PDF materials aside. Our online teacher yogi Bablu is kind and has a watchful eye for everyone’s well-being in online class and supervises the practice in a challenging yet safe manner.
I would definitely recommend this school and training to anyone looking for an adaptable yoga practice and training with their daily life.
I definitely hope to continue my training and come to meet this kind and peaceful yoga community on the spot in Rishikesh one day.
Thank you so much for guiding me through the YTT yogi Bablu and everyone in HYA involved in the training 🙏it was a real pleasure, namaste 🙏

The worst yoga school ever

I didn't want to write this bad review but they leave me no choice. Before covid I did research for a yoga school and after 3 months sending emails to a lot of yoga schools, I decided to book Himalayan Yoga Association. Because it was including airport transfer, a massage, cooking course, 28 days of training and because they told me it was suitable for a daily Ashtanga practitioner.
This month's I could finally go to India. Everything was such a disappointment. All classes started 30 minutes too late, students where on there phone all the time and the Ashtanga classes where horrible. When I told the teacher the alignment of the asana wasn't correct he told me that I was wrong and when I came with proof he said that this was the way he learned it from his teacher. Also was the the course 24 days with no massage, no airport transfer and 2 excursions instead of 2 and the cooking course was not a cooking course.
After 1 week I complained about it and we agreed that I get back 200 USD. Because I booked at bookyogaretreats they said I had to ask them. Bookyogaretreats doesn't want to give me a refund but only credit for their website. I don't want to get credit if I just did a yoga teachers training. I try too speak with someone about it but there is almost never someone at the office. When I spoke to them about it they would arrange it and the next day again no one at the reception. Now I am already checked out and HYA doesn't want to give me back the money and sends me to bookyogaretreats while I already emailed them plenty of times. After and during your YTT you should feel zen, but this only stressed me out. I am really disappointed in this school while I was waiting for years to do this. The compensation that they wanted to give was enough for me but if they send me to bookyogaretreats all the time then they deserve a bad review and I hope that people who want a serieus and good Yoga Teachers Training don't book here. Everyone can get their certificate without doing exams. This is not fair for the people that where actually learning for their exams or did their practical exams but it also dangerous that this kind of people teach yoga.

I loved my online 300 hour YTT course…

I loved my online 300 hour YTT course with HYA! The self paced classes was ideal for my schedule and for how I learn new information. It's awesome that I have access to the classes for my lifetime. All along the way anytime I had a question I received quick responses and helpful answers. My main contact Saumya was delightful and so knowledgeable. I learned more in this training than any training before and this week here in my community I begin a new weekly teaching position (Vinyasa Flow all Levels). I feel prepared and deeply grateful to HYA for their support.

Great course

Paid for the online course in December 2020 and they did not receive it. After a lot of phone calls and emails between Lloyds, the Indian banks and HYA they finally received it six months later. The online course was very well resourced, challenging and fun but the host's internet could be irregular.

200 hour TTC

I just wanted to post my review of HYA and to thank them for such an amazing month. The teacher training course exceeded my expectations. The course content was great, the teachers are amazing and there is always a fantastic atmosphere around. The food and accommodation are also very good! Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or newbie HYA supports everyone and makes us all feel part of their family. I would highly recommend!!
