All went very well, and the purchasing journey was good.
But.....
Once I had taken delivery of my vehicle, I found a 2 inch tear in the seating that I hadn't noticed on my walk round, and it was missing its tyre inflation kit
AND, a knife blade used in detailing the car.
On contacting the company initially, my account manager informed me that when raised with her manager, the reply was "what do you expect, it's not a new car", to which my reply was "if it had been in the detailed description of the car, I could have made an informed decision on whether to buy the car. Oh, and my car was not ready for my 0930 appointment, more like 1100. After raising an issue through the online system, I received a call from Jake, who was very apologetic regarding the blade and also promised to send a tyre inflation kit, and the issue would be escalated, and I should hear back by Tuesday. Today is Friday, and apart from me being told someone would get back to me, I have had no update or received the tyre inflation kit.
Unlike advertising spiel on the phone line, I certainly do not feel like one of the family and I can only assume nobody cares now they have made the sale.
Update, the car is now only charging 50% of the time. I have had to chase everything up. The car is going back as it is not fit for purpose.

The Chang over from the old car to the new one was very pleasant and the sales person was as helpful as he could be .
The only problem was that I could not use the Tesla chargers as I could not log into there system as the car has. Not been registered to me by DVLC so I had to find a charger that would except my credit cards so the 6 hour journey took me 11 hours and a loot of worrying as I had to stop and find 3charging points
I think that the manager should have been aware of these problems

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel strongly about this experience.
This situation is still ongoing, and I will update this review as things progress.
My biggest concern when buying a used car is simple: what happens when something goes wrong? That’s when you really see how a company treats its customers.
To be fair, the start with Hippo was excellent.
The sales process was smooth, the salesperson was helpful, and even a small issue at collection was resolved immediately without question. At that point, I genuinely thought this was a company that really looks after its customers.
As part of the purchase, I also took out the additional warranty, as it was presented as a sensible way to protect against unexpected issues. My understanding at the time was that this would give me meaningful cover if something went wrong early on.
However, when a fault appeared very soon after purchase, it became clear that the warranty only covered part of the repair cost, leaving a significant shortfall.
Because this happened so early into ownership, I contacted Hippo straight away. Across multiple calls with different members of the team, the consistent message and overall tone was that once the full details and quotations were in, the situation would be reviewed and they would look to support appropriately given how early the issue had occurred.
Based on those conversations, I genuinely expected that there would be some level of support beyond the warranty once everything had been assessed.
At such an early point after purchase, I think it’s a reasonable expectation that if something goes wrong, the supplying dealer would step in and help resolve the situation with a degree of understanding and support. That’s not about technicalities — just what most people would expect when buying a car.
When it came to the final outcome, however, the position shifted completely to relying solely on the warranty contribution, with no additional support offered.
This was also confusing, as at different points it was suggested that the warranty provider and Hippo were closely linked, which made the final position harder to follow.
From my perspective, the issue itself also doesn’t feel consistent with normal wear and tear at this mileage, which adds to the frustration of how this has been handled.
I understand that things can go wrong with any vehicle, and I’m sure many customers will have a smooth experience where no issues arise. But for me, the real measure of a company is how they respond when something does go wrong — particularly when it happens so soon after purchase.
At the moment, I feel let down by how this has been handled, especially given the contrast with the otherwise strong customer experience at the beginning.
I remain open to resolving this directly and fairly, and I will update this review based on the final outcome.

I've just got my new car delivered (by Matt who was friendly and helpful) and it's amazing so far! Honestly a great company from day one. I read some reviews on here before I started anything and I kept reading how helpful they are, I can attest that it is the case. Very helpful and straightforward. I don't have a good credit history either and I managed to get a very good car that suits me and stay on the road as my old 2007 honda civic is nearing its end now. Would also like to mention (Holly I believe) who is basically like an advisor from the start, very grateful for her help and friendliness throughout. Thanks!
