Very unreliable
Firstly I booked a quote in wich the guy didn’t turn up or let me no he wasn’t turning up. Then some time later I contacted him again & made a date to do a different job. He turned up with no tools or anything so didn’t do the job in hand. We then booked it in for another day. 30minz before he should have been here he messaged to cancel. No apology nothing just some excuse. Very unprofessional and shouldn’t be trading.

Highly recommend Hire A Hubby for any odd jobs. I needed two heavy mirrors to be hung and the service from enquiry to completion was excellent. Matt was very competent, fast and cleaned up as he went along. Will definitely use again.
Great job and looks great
Great service from richmond branch with removing kitchen cabinet and installation of a dishwasher. Done a great job and was cheaper than originally quoted. Would definitely recommend for this area
Happy mum
My mum contacted this company and a guy came out today and fitted a hand rail to her bath. She is absolutely thrilled, very professional and the main thing extremely reasonable. Thank you she will definitely be using you again
Indoor stairs handrail fitted
I required a stair handrail to be fitted urgently to aid in my husband's recovery from a hip operation. I found Hire a Hubby on Google. Mark came and quoted for the work within 24 hours and talked us through what could be done. After deciding what was needed Mark returned with his assistant Matt 2 days later and completed the job together within half a day.
I cannot praise this company enough for their care, understanding, promptness, attitude and professionalism. I would highly recommend them.
LEAFLET LEFT STUCK IN LOCKED GATE
I returned to my property to find a leaflet stuck in the gate. The gate is chained & padlocked after repeated targeted breaking & entering & vandalising, 4 times in succession, leaving me a nervous wreck & hyper vigilent. The front door is boarded up, clearly seen from the gate. I spoke to the post man who absolutely took my request on board & any flyers just stay in his bag & I pick up mail.
There are circumstances that prevent me being at the property every day, ...so the leaflet from Hire A Hubby remained stuck in the gate for over 24 hours - a clear signal to anyone looking to break in!
Leaving unsolicited leaflets stuck in a gate is a clear sign & a sure way to signal that no one is there & the property is vulnerable.
I phoned the 0800 077 6236 to bring this practice to their attention, I was told they dropped leaflets in chosen areas through every door. BUT there was no access to a door, the person on the phone couldnt seem to grasp my point of view or concern, & then a second person came on the phone, still not accepting my point of view, he continually talked over me, finally he said my address would not be targeted again, but he didnt want to know the address or area.
★ALL IT NEEDED was a polite response looking at my point of view & the anxiety I had been caused, & agree that leaflet droppers should not stick leaflets in gates left for all to see, and that this would be a company policy & passed on to all their leaflet droppers. Instead I got an argumentative man who hardly let me get a word in edgeways or show the slightest concern for what I had explained.
Like most people if I need work doing - I look for recommendations & may check a website, it's old fashioned & outdated to drop leaflets, none the less I accept that junk mail is still part of life; what I don't accept is that a person leafletting cannot have enough common sense to understand not to leave a leaflet stuck in a locked & chained gate, & where the boarded up front door is in clear sight, they just needed to move on to the next accessible letter box.
I wont be using their services - due to the very poor phone call response I recieved on high lighting an important issue.
Where is their common sense or understanding of the public they are looking to engage with?
What a absolute joke
What a absolute joke . Hire hubby in Portsmouth quoted my mother £100 a month to clean her ground floor flat windows . Talk about a rip off .
Work was of a decent standard but expensive
Work was of a decent standard but in retrospect far too expensive, especially with VAT added. No priced itemised quote or invoice makes it more difficult to see the value for effort. Speaking to neighbours it should have cost about a third less

From my initial contact with Darren to him coming over to fix the issue we had with our front door was outstanding. Darren arrived at the agreed time and got straight onto fixing the issue with the door. Darren is friendly and also professional and it is clear he is passionate about what he does. We have other week we are looking at doing on the house and will definitely be using Darren again. Highly recommended. Thanks. Paul.

Having seen the company van parked in a supermarket in Northamptonshire I made contact to request a quotation for guttering repairs. The response time was excellent to confirm on 21/5/25 that Hire A Hubby Hunsbury would be in touch. Still waiting.

I had mixed experiences with Hire A Hubby Property Maintenance UK. The first couple of jobs were done perfectly, but the service fell short afterwards. While Clive in Chelmsford did a great job fixing a water leak, other work left much to be desired. A shelf was poorly installed with rough edges, and despite promises, the handyman never returned to complete the job. I ended up having to sort it myself. Some work is commendable, but communication and follow-up need improvement.

Excellent work and service
Darren did an excellent job of repainting our entire house. He was professional, completed within the estimated time frame and kept us informed at each step. Highly recommend him for any work in and outside the house.

Trustworthy company
Clive did a detailed quote and carried out the work to a high standard. He and Mo were very friendly, so it was a very good experience, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, or recommend them to others.

Bad experience.
The first two jobs that were done were perfect. Then I wanted a wooden curved shelf to put a t.v. on in the bedroom. Arrived with the painted shelf with paint not dried, although he had measured it did not fit and was and cut it back in the front garden with saw dust everywhere. Put it up with a promise he would be back the next week to smooth of the wood off. I took the controller off the shelf and got a splinter under my nail. No further contact so I emailed with an apology that he had not returned. I have never seen or heard from him since. Paid him £50 but never had it returned the job finished. My son bought more wood, made a shelf that fits perfectly.

Clive (Model Professional)
Clive (Chelmsford) repaired a water leak in our cloakroom with little fuss even when tested with seized water stop cocks. He worked through carefully, professionally and did a great job reinstating the water pipe installing a new shut off valve which is a great help. Clive is a credit to hire a hubby and would definitely call upon again. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent work. Prompt and considerate.

Hire a hubby - Crowthorne
Disappionted when I gave feedback on a job completed that it was suggested by the handyman that he need to walk me around the job so he could manage my expectations.
I felt I was not listened to about the job and make good was not mentioned so was not included on the job, I had presumed the handyman service was all of the job. I felt this should have been explained.
